(S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - DeathOnReddit - 10-26-2018 I believe that former Colorado Yeti Quarterback, and now Baltimore Hawks Quarterback Ryan Applehort will finally have a huge season and become QB of the year for the entire league. We all know how much of a hard worker Applehort is, but sadly there wasn't a team built around him. Applehort had let his feelings of dissatisfaction be known near the end of his tenure with the Yeti. Hitting the offseason and free agency there were a lot of questions about where Applehort would end up. And in a twist, Applehort decided to go to the Baltimore Hawks, with former QB Avon Blocksdale announcing his position switch to cornerback. With the best RB in the league with Owen Taylor besides him, as well as a returning Trey Willie, with Valentine and star duo of tightends with Declan Harp and Nuncs guy who i forgot the name of, there is a big argument for Applehort being able to be the best QB. And so far in the early season, Applehort has proven his fans correct, with a great season up to this point and undefeated record. I expect this trend to continue, and for Applehort to lead Baltimore to their 2nd ring in a row. You speedy bastard! GOMHL Media (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - SammyG - 10-26-2018 As opposed to writing about who it is that I expect to progress into a top player this season, I instead want to talk about a player who I think has that expectation but will fall flat. Sam Garrad was a very strong defensive prospect heading into this draft and was a massive pick up for the Tijuana Luchadores. Sam was hyped up as quite possibly the top defensive line prospec the league had ever seen, but since joining league play he has begun to dissapoint. The young player has posted a very underwhelming stat line his first four games, and it's becoming more evident why he didn't get any play times last season during the playoffs despite being better in training camp than many of the players on the roster. His performance on the field doesn't match up with his physical skill, which so far has been hugely dissapointing for the Luchadores staff, who is struggling to string together wins this season. The Luchadores are a team with a long and storied history of success, and this is one instance where maybe, it's time for a rebuild to occur. One is for sure, and that is that Garrad has been nothing but a draft dud. (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - DonnoMania - 10-26-2018 After a season or two of just average play in San Antonio, Devo Cansino is looking forward to attempting to become the breakout RB of the season in Colorado. The running back after a long time in the offseason has spent his days constantly training and upping his game for the now upon us regular season with all sorts of running, strength building, and catching to work hard and try to achieve that starting role at RB for the Yeti and replace the well known veteran, Mark Grau. A player that works in the same playstyle as Devo but better in terms of the run game due to his hands and speed. [div align=\\\"center\\\"]I've been working my hardest these past few months after looking at my previous stats from the past. Now that I know what I should be working on in my game thanks to my GM's (San Antonio and Colorado) so now I'm just on a full-on quest to become the best in the league this year. Now that my goal has been set, I have to conquer it. [/div] [div align=\\\"center\\\"]-Devo Cansino [/div] With the season now in motion in it's first week, it's time to wonder if it all paid off for Devo or if it will take another season or two to see the fruits of his efforts. Only time will tell.... (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - White Cornerback - 10-26-2018 Written: Must include 200 words. As the season starts write about a player that you expect to take the jump to stardom. @samee "and with the 4th pick in the S11 NSFL Draft, the Yellowknife Wraiths select..." Summer went, Dugnutt was gone who was followed by Parker, hell Foster even popped up midway through the 3rd round.. but in the 4th round Yellowknife took a punt on an unknown entity who resides from Belgium... not exactly a pipeline for the National Simulation Football League. But to many it wasn't the player himself that grabbed headlines but rather the agent reflecting him. That same agent represented former Yellowknife Wraiths defensive lineman Gustav Rodriguez... a player many of us couldn't remember playing in the league. This same agent has had a number of incidents regarding his contracts in a hockey league, both at a player and GM level. Thomas Carrasco has had his number of critics and he still does. Heck not too long ago a podcast on the NSFL even took shots at him, questioning YKW GM Spike Crown's decision to start 28th overall pick Carrasco over 4th overall pick Antonio Summer. But is Carrasco the sort of player to give a fuck ? Of course not he's going to be a franchise guy inside and outside of the locker room and rush for many many many yards and just as many touchdowns. As I enter the tail end of my career having spent 11 seasons and counting here, I hope Carrasco does the same and really makes this player one worth remembering because we have full faith in him. As for samee the user, I hope this league is something he can actively enjoy more than his past goes. (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - GoonerBear - 10-26-2018 GOMHL media (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - Renrut - 10-27-2018 I am about to blow your tits off with what I am about to tell you...I am also going to toot my own horn, sue me. Season 8. Childish Gambino comes into this league. He had great aspirations that he was going to light this league on fire...those were delusions of grandeur by the rookie. He only recorded 4 sacks, 22 tackles, and 7 tackles for loss. It humbled the young defensive end. He knew things weren’t going to come easy for him anymore. Backed on a great training regiment in the offseason, he came into his sophomore season ready to soar. Only he was put into his place again. 5 sacks, 22 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. Once again being served a piece of humble pie, the defensive end trained even harder and faster in the offseason. He was handsomely rewarded with a nice season of 12 sacks, 40 tackles, and 1 fumble recovery. Now, with one more extreme training regiment under his belt, Gambino is ready to breakout and put his name on the map for season 11. Anything Less than 15 sacks will be considered a disappointment for Gambino. Okay I didn’t blow your tits off, but when I win defensive lineman of the year this season don’t say I didn’t tell you so. (S11) - PT 2 - Breakout Player - dropbear - 10-27-2018 It might seem crazy to suggest that Howard Miller, a fifth-year wide receiver in the NSFL who has made it to two consecutive pro bowls, could be due for his breakout year. But, the fact of the matter is, there’s just so much talent at his position in the league that it takes a huge effort to truly get noticed. Despite being one of the players in the running for the wide receiver of the year award after his efforts in Season 10 – accumulating more than 14000 yards and 11 touchdowns – Miller nonetheless seems to remain to fly under the radar. Players like former teammate Carlito Crush and his new teammate Tegan Atwell, long-time Hawks receiver Trey Willie and league stalwart Josh Garden make it difficult for a relatively young receiver to get their name included in the conversation about the league’s best. When you take into account all of the players in other positions also vying for the league’s and public’s attention, it’s easy to see why Miller hasn’t quite yet ‘broken out’. However, if he has another season like his previous two, or improves upon them, then perhaps it will be time for the league to finally take notice. But the league can be fickle, and only time will tell. |
