(S13) - PT 1 - Champion Dreams - youngcricket - 02-08-2019 The Portland Pythons? Yeah, I think we are winning it all. Dude, our team is stacked and there is no reason for us to not be in the conversation as the best DSFL team and maybe one of the best ever. Me? I've yet to touch the field. I am currently riding the bench and not being respected, but if I get a ring I get a ring. I think our regular season will be dominant and we will be a force all season. In the playoffs, we will be the hottest team coming in and will be favored. We will continue to make a run and just destroy everybody. Ultimately, there isn't a team that can stop us. We will storm the field after the game and I will be interviewed for being defensive player of the game. The first thing I will say is "I'm going to Disney World!" After that, I will actually go to Disney World followed by a parade in Portland. Our first championship for the city in a while. The fans will be amazing, as they always are. They will surround us as we get off the plane. They will cheer, they will roar, and they will appreciate everything we do for the city. I will use my championship bonus to give back to the city. It's that simple... Showbiz finally realized his dream of winning the Ultimus Championship last season with the Orange County Otters. After making it to the Championship game in the DSFL and losing during his very first season, he was left with the very foul taste of loss in his mouth until the moment he finally hoisted the championship. While he may have finally tasted the sweet nectar of victory, Gus' thirst for it has not yet been sated. Like the Quarterback in Orange County before him, Showbiz will not be content with a single championship trophy in his case. Like Hall of Famer Mike Boss, the Otters legend, Gus T.T. Showbiz wants at least 3 championships, and that starts with this coming season. The Otters are set up strongly for another run at the championship in season 13, but their work is cut out for them bigtime. All around the league, the arms race of QBs is going strong, without a single team really lacking in the arm department. Showbiz will have hefty competition to keep his team on the longest playoff streak in NSFL history. Making it to another Ultimus game will also almost bring them to the same amount of appearances as the Hawks, only they've been lucky enough to win the vast majority (4 of 5). (S13) - PT 1 - Champion Dreams - GoonerBear - 02-08-2019 Through the first four weeks of the season, I can say this is the most complete team the San Jose SaberCats have had that I am aware of. We have our offense finally firing on all cylinders and able to keep pace with opposing furious offense. Our defense may bend and break a bit, though when called upon, we can start a rally and signal to the offense "go close the gap!" Should we finally fulfill the promise this team has and win the Ultimus, the parade in San Jose would be massive. At long last, the city would have a team to celebrate in the streets, and the rings would be the finest gold studded in shimmering emeralds to make the SaberCats logo. Along the bottom, a strip of gold would separate the words "Season 12 Champions" from the logo. That sucker would either need to be pretty big or finely handmade. Kolby Deringer would be inseparable from his companions in the SaberCats' front seven on defense, the cohort drafted and built which drove their playoff appearance last season. Though, let's be honest, Jerrod Canton and Joliet Christ would be out at the front of the parade alongside the club's ownership and management. That would be fine. They would be more than deserving to sit at the head of the procession. Deringer would be content to just see his family come up from Texas and keep pace for at least a bit. For now, though, the celebration is an unjustified dream. We have to earn that fanfare first. (S13) - PT 1 - Champion Dreams - Aenir - 02-09-2019 NSHL PT (S13) - PT 1 - Champion Dreams - Muford - 02-09-2019 D’Pez Poopsie would love to taste that sweet, sweet Ultimus victory, especially after finally getting to the playoffs last year with the San Jose Sabercats. Even though they fell to the Orange County Otters, it has lit a fire under Poopsie’s ass, and everyone else too that is in San Jose. The City of San Jose has not seen a championship yet in the NSFL, and the Sabercats look to bring home the first one this year. With all this hype around the team, you can only imagine what the parade would be like if they were to win it all. Hell, all of the celebrities would come out of the woodworks to support this team, the whole city is behind them. Poopsie for sure, after being here for 3 seasons already, wants to help bring that drought to an end, and would probably be the Gronkowski of the Sabercats. He would be partying non-stop and just having a wonderful time, who cares who he celebrates with. Teammates, strangers, fans, haters, everyone will be there once San Jose wins it all and it will all be welcomed! San Jose has great aspirations this season, so watch out and if you are a rival, get out of the way. (208 words) (S13) - PT 1 - Champion Dreams - mabb - 02-09-2019 Xandra and the Sabercats (that sounds like the name of an 80s band) are super excited about their S13 prospects, after having a great turn-around year in S12. S13 should be more of the same, with an even stronger, better, faster set of folks on the team. Everyone worked really hard during the offseason, so we should be able to get to the playoffs and finally bring home an Ultimus championship to San Jose. Being a southern Californian team, a parade will obviously happen, but the more highly anticipated celebration event will be the block party at the beach. There will be a buffet-style free-for all for fans who win the free tickets through various events that will be happening all throughout the season in the city and neighboring regions. Obviously, everyone’s family who can attend will be there, and Xandra’s pup Nax will be inviting all his doggo friends and their families. Xandra has pledged a contribution to the local animal shelter and is raising matches as the Sabercats team hits various landmark wins (a winning season record, home field advantage in the first round, etc). The San Jose community is really invested and excited this season, so the team is hoping to do them proud and make this another statement year for the franchise.
