Luckily I had a great coach and mentor in San Antonio in the form of Angus Winchester. He really showed me the ropes and took the time to develop me as a player and as a person. I had a ton of fun back in those days, lots of good friends on the Marshals. Each game was an enjoyable one and I was pleased with my progress as a defensive lineman. When I was drafted in the first round in the following NSFL draft, I was over the moon. I couldn't have gotten to that point without the experiences I had as a member of the San Antonio Marshals. As time passes by, I find myself identifying more and more with my current NSFL team and starting to drift away from where it all started, but no matter the distance I'll always be able to look back upon my time with the Marshals and smile, knowing that they gave me all of the time, energy, and resources I needed to become the best player that I could. And for that, I thank you San Antonio. Christ, his career has been filled with ups and downs and while so far they have mostly been ups, he stays humbled from his time in the DSFL. While in Portland, Christ made it to 2 Ultimini championship games and came up short in both games. Him and his Portland Pythons were amongst the elite teams in the DSFL for as long as he was their quarterback but unfortunately could not deliver on that title chance. He was a lot more mobile in his DSFL days but suffered a bad knee injury in his last game, an Ultimini loss to Tijuana in which Portland never stood a chance. Christ loved his time in Portland though and credits them for jumpstarting his career into what has led him to become a top quarterback in the NSFL for the San Jose Sabercats. While Falconi got the best of Christ in the DSFL, Christ's Sabercats have been much more successful behind Christ and get better as he goes. The team is stacked and Christ is not doing anything to hold them back. He knows how to lead winning teams and that started from his time in Portland. The South Dakota native is ready for anything and hopes to have everything come together for an Ultimus championship win. (S13) - PT 4 - The Other Guys - Justice - 03-02-2019 For Ty Justice, his days in the DSFL were some of the most enlightening, stressful days of his career. The first time he has ever had to move from his family was to play with the San Antonio Marshals, an adjustment he was anticipating but it still took a fair amount of time to get used to. Getting used to a much bigger stage than in college, media constantly barking down your throat, much higher pressure in need to win games, you name it. There comes a lot of pressure with being in a competitive team in the DSFL and everyone has to learn how to handle it in their own way. His days in the DSFL weren't all filled with negativity however, for the wins felt that much sweeter and the pay offs of hard work felt that much better. People around the city knew your name, they'd congratulate you on the street, they'd buy you a drink at the bar... It really felt like San Antonio was a Marshals town. Sure, Ty Justice might miss it from time to time now that he's out and in San Jose with the big league team, but the only thing that feels better than winning a game in the DSFL is winning a game in the NSFL. 216 Words (S13) - PT 4 - The Other Guys - White Cornerback - 03-02-2019 WRITTEN: About every NSFL player has gone through the DSFL to develop at some point in their careers, and every DSFL player wants to play for a team in the NSFL. For this point task, write at least 200 words on something related to the other league than your player/GM is in. Write about the good times in the DSFL, or what teams you want to go to in the NSFL. Have fun with it. How the fuck do I write 200 words about the DSFL like good times in the DSFL when I ain't never been in the DSFL. I think currently I'm the only player that's currently playing in the NSFL that's still from the old phase (pre DSFL era) so I literally have no members of being in the DSFL. I suppose I can recall the time before the DSFL, where the NSFL was really early days and ran using a waiver rule. I of course joined just after the S1 draft and was the first player to hit said waiver wire, I was promptly picked up by the then NUCK ran Yellowknife Wraiths with Bzerkap and Ballerstorm shadow GM'ing the team. Eventually NUCK did move on and back to his first love, the SHL. It was a surreal feeling being picked up by then on basically a season long rental deal and I would enter the the following S2 Draft. I enjoyed my time thoroughly in S1 and really it set me on a good track for the rest of my career, Yellowknife followed suit and traded Baltimore or Las Vegas for the #1 OA Pick of S2 and the rest is history. I think I'm at the end of my career now but I've enjoyed my time here in the NSFL. (S13) - PT 4 - The Other Guys - AngelTwelve - 03-02-2019 When I originally joined the league, I joined in the middle of the DSFL season. I was originally claimed off waivers by the Portland Pythons. I was really happy to join the team, and expected to develop pretty quick. I dragged along at first, but I eventually found my footing in the league. By the time the new DSFL season began, I was actually drafted by San Antonio. I was saddened at first, hoping to have stayed with the pythons, but right after the draft I was traded back to Portland. I was really happy with this & stayed with them for the season. I was excited to get to work and provide for my team. I ended up with decent stats too. Then, I was drafted by San Jose & stayed in the DSFL for another season. At the end of the third season, I was traded ro the Wraiths where I've been ever since. I think the Rookie Bowl really showcased my skills, and my conference ended up winning with a walk off touchdown scored by yours truly. The Pythons are my favorite team (save Yellowknife) and I'm glad to have played for them! They're a great organization and they have helped me become the player I am today.
