(S18) - PT4 - Fall - White Cornerback - 11-09-2019

Written Option: Right now it is really starting to feel like football season… At least for those of us Northerners. The weather is beginning to change and pass happy offenses are learning how to deal with the wind and rain, and heaven forbid, snow… How does your team prepare for games in the elements? What do you different with your game plan? Who on your team gets better in cold weather games?

the austin copperheads do not prepare for games as that would imply that we are not always by default, prepared which we are of course. The elements, they simply do not matter even a bit to us snakes in austin, it like time is just a waste.

If it is sunny out, we win. If it is windy, we win. If it's rainy outside we also wn. It's as simple as that. We do not need anything special in order to prepare us for differing or changing circumstances regardless of where or who we are travelling to face in the NSFL.

the nsfls quality of teams is so poor its like playing on rookie mode on madden, they are that incredibly poor that we could be playing on the surface of keplar 186f itself and it wouldnt matter. they are all simply absolute bums that cant even hold a candle to the dominance that is the austin copperheads.

the weather does not matter and to put it simply, it never will. the only thing that matters is just how cursed the rest of the league will be next season when we see the austin revenge tour in full swing. saddle up NSFL because your ass is about to be sore from being rode

Being a Canadian has certainly helped Tyron Brackenridge become accustomed to the fall and winter weather, which tailors to the hard hitting defensive players such as himself. In order to be prepared for these types of games in the NSFL he has been able to provide tips on what types of equipment to use and how to effectively be able to move around the football field. Brackenridge's favourite type of weather for a football game would be in the snow because of the numerous games he was able to play in the snow with his friends and how the snow is able to add another element for other teams to account for. The game plan definitely needs to be altered for these types of games which would include stacking more players in the box to create less opportunities for the run game that Tyron is able to excel at. The players that have excelled later in the season as the elements began to change included the shifty runningback Toriki, linebacker Deringer, and Brackenridge who was able to remain consistent throughout these games. If the league were to ever expand into Canada or any other harsher climates he expects he could thrive in such a franchise and hopes to be a part of one of these teams throughout his career if it happens.

Well now this one is nice and easy. Who needs to throw the ball during blustery days when the New Orleans Second Line has the best damn running back in the NSFL. Forrest had a few games where he eclipsed 30 carries and those games were some fantastic ones for us. Stan-o has been out there throwing a few picks here and there, and cold weather and wind only make that tougher. So we gotta ground and pound. Forrest would of course be nothing without his offensive line. Playing alongside Forrest since the prospect bowl, Brave Ulysses heads up this unit as a mauling right tackle. A lot of runs in our scheme start with him blowing up the left rusher and opening up a hole for Gump the Chump to take advantage of and make himself look good. On defense our strong safety, David Rector, has been putting in work all season, and he’s wicked fast but he has a little trouble bringing down the receiver sometimes. He’s gonna excel in snow games. A little bit slipperier turf means offensive players will hit the ground more easily, so when he comes flying across the field and hit them, you know damn well they’re going down.

QT doesn't come from a place that really has a huge drop off in temperature in fall. Being from South Carolina, and playing in the DSFL in South Carolina has that perk of not getting as cold as the north, but the team has to travel to places like Portland so there is some preparations that need to take place in order to be ready to play up there. One thing for RBs to do is to get ice water dumped on you before you practice, and continue to have it douse you when you start to warm up, this somewhat mimics the cold and allows you to feel how it might to run in the freezing cold. Also, dipping your hands into ice buckets and trying to hold onto the ball while your teammates try to punch it out is a good strategy to make sure you don't fumble in the cold. I would say the running game generally gets better in the cold because it's a safer approach and because the team in the north is probably used to it the corners will be all over the receivers as they struggle to get open. For the linemen and RBs the constant moving and banging of bodies in the trenches keeps us warm for the most part. A running QB like the Bucs has helps keep the running game fresh, especially when it is leaned on more.

It’s been Fall for a bit over a month, and apparently Fall is the season it rains and has winds. According to the wind of change, there is a lot of whistling going on about fair conditions for football games. We have just been drilling and drilling at practices. Coach wants us to be able to handle any weather situation because you never know what the forecast will give you and meteorologist know jack shit about weather. If I have to do another drill with a water hose being sprayed at me, I twill be looking for another team next season. They just keep spraying us down in water and expecting us to run and execute the playbook. They don’t consider how dangerous this is, adding water to simulate rain, but it doesn’t even seem to be an accurate simulation of rain. There’s a big difference than Coach Chuck out there with the sprinkler and a rain storm. The worst time was when coaches threw crushed ice at us to simulate playing in snow, like how does that make any sense. The crushed ice hurt like hell getting pelted by it. We will see if these practices correlate to anything meaningful in terms of wins.

Well here in Chicago, it wouldn't have been problem except frigin Jiggly. He's the one that brought the snow north. By just mentioning snow, it comes. And all in the Locker room, Jiggly was talking smack about the snow. And it heard. So now, it's extra cold. Especially as Mike travels home to Canada for the offseason, it's even more friggin cold. So thanks Jiggly, you butt. Anyways, preparing for the elements is about as useful as trying to get Jiggly to not jinx the weather or the team. In the North, rain can turn to snow and snow can turn into rain in a blink of the eye. That being said, Mike tends to add an extra layer of socks and underwear, as well as takes an extra 2 pairs in the bag to the game for a possible half time switch. Who knows how much water can get up all in those pants. Especially in the windy city. That being said, sometimes the extra long cleats work well, especially on defense, but really its all about trying to stay warm and keep those muscles ready. So heat packs on the bench are a must. Don't tell me otherwise. 202

Welcome to Chicago.
On Halloween, we had three and a half inches of snow. Less than a week before, we were at around 60 degrees. The Fall in Chicago does not make sense. Leaves did not "fall" this year. They were shed all at once when they couldn't handle the weight of the literal ice raining down on them. Not snow, not hail. I'm talking about rain that it's so cold out that it is the closest thing to ice as possible and it is clumped together so tightly and carries weight as it crashes to the ground.
Chicago is a true meteorological hell-scape where only the toughest survive. There are very few places in the world that see the amount of weather whiplash this city gets, nor do they often see the extremes that roll through at strange times. High 60s in December? Check. Low 20s in late May? Check. The City of Chicago truly does not give a fuck about your ability to survive and does whatever the fuck it wants.

This is why Chicago weather is truly the greatest home field advantage in this league. You know what to expect anywhere else in the league. Yellowknife is cold, duh. Arizona is hot, duh. What's Chicago gonna be like? I don't fucking know.

So me personally I am not a fan of bad elements when it comes to weather and DTF being a Georgia boy, also is not used to inclement weather and playing for the Myrtle Beach Bucs is another fair weather city so it is not like he has to play in freezing temperatures very often. Myrtle Beach, San Antonio, Tijuana are all warm weather locations and while Norfolk and Kansas City get a little colder they aren't exactly winter wonderlands in the winter time. Portland gets colder and gets snow but it is a place more so with freezing rain and colder days rather than big snow storms. The Bucs don't really have a huge plan for doing things in the cold but usually the best is running the ball and the Bucs are well prepared to handle that. Thomas-Fox was an option QB in college for Georgia Tech and played against some colder weather teams in the ACC sometimes and had no issues with it. The Bucs are solid on the ground with DTF leading the way and no issues would be had n any weather as long as they hold on to the football. DTF usually will wear dual sleeves and gloves when the weather is a little colder as well but he says it does not affect the way he grips or throws the ball. While the season has not been kind to the newly formed Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, you can't blame it on the weather or maybe you can and we can use that as an excuse. Anyways, the weather is cold but who doesn't love playing football in the snow? It is classic and fun and slippery and there is a lot that goes into it. We can do it for sure!
