(S20) - Ultimus Week - ddrector - 02-19-2020 3) Revenge Written: Write 200 words about a team you’d like to get revenge on next season and why. Did they knock you out of the playoffs? Blow you out? This one is fresh on my brain and therefore I have to write about it. Those pesky Austin Copperheads kept my team, the New Orleans Second Line, from reaching the Ultimus championship. For a second year in a row we have been knocked out in the ASFC conference championship. This was our third meeting of the season, and they were able to beat us in each game. It’s definitely heart breaking to finally get the best of the Otters and take them down in the playoffs to then be taken down by another team in our conference. It feels like we focused so much on taking down the Otters that we didn’t even notice the Copperheads improving and they just ran right past us with their stud running back Mako Mendonca. The Second Line won’t let that happen again next year. We will spend all offseason training with nothing on our mind but taking down those menaces in Austin so that we can finally reach the pinnacle of this league, something we haven’t accomplished in many seasons. We won’t lose to them three times again next year, and hopefully that’s because we beat them three times and not because they only beat us twice and we miss the playoffs. Code: 209 words 4) Rivalry Written: Which team or player would you consider to be your greatest rival? Write 200 words on why you are rivals with them and why you want them to lose (don’t harass other users please). I have previously spoken about a team rivalry that the New Orleans Second Line have with the Orange County Otters, but this year I want to talk about a more friendly rivalry that I have with fellow Season 18 cornerbacks. Myself, Louisiana Purchase, and Korrin Abernathy are the three top earning corners in the S18 draft class, and so therefore I use them as a measuring stick to gauge my performance. Prior to this season I was playing safety, so it was hard to compare stats between us, but now that I am playing corner it is a better comparison. This season both Purchase and Abernathy grabbed 3 interceptions and 1 TD while I had 0 of each. They are definitely ahead of me in those categories. In Pass Deflections however I had 19 to Abernathy’s 15 and Purchase’s 13. I am slightly ahead of both of them in total TPE as well, but it’s the stats that really matter. I hope to improve my performance next year and get some interceptions and hopefully break up 20+ passes. It would also be incredible to get a defensive touchdown, but that’s probably wishful thinking. I hope this cornerback rivalry can last a long time as we continue to excel at our position throughout our careers in the NSFL. Code: 217 words 6) Expansion Written: There have been a lot of new players entering the league recently. If you were in charge of a new expansion team for the NSFL or DSFL, how would you go about it? Say hello to the newest member of the NSFL the Raleigh Renegades. As the general manager of this new team I would strive to create a locker room that players enjoy being in and want to play in for their entire career. My goal as a general manager of a new team would be to bring in a lot of young talent through any means necessary to have a team that’s competitive in the league within the first 3 seasons of existence. I would use the expansion draft to get highly sought after veteran players that I could then turn around and trade to other teams for draft picks. The goal would be to have a team full of players that come into the league at the same time and stay together to dominate their entire careers. There will be some growing pains at first as this young team will be lacking in tpe compared to other teams, but once they hit their stride in their 4th or 5th season they will spend many seasons in a row dominating together while other teams have to deal with regression. This well oiled machine will have unprecedented success as the Renegades win 5 Ultimus championships in a row. Code: 206 words 7) Next Year Written: If your team didn’t win the title this year, why do you believe they can win the next year (or the year after that)? As I mentioned earlier the New Orleans Second Line have now lost in the ASFC championship game the past two years, but we are still a young team that is getting better every season and our total team tpe will be higher in season 21 than it was this season. We have many young players no where near regression that are just getting better as they gain more tpe each week. We also have excellent leaders in juoso and Tom Hanks that do everything they can to keep us competitive each season. The one thing we can not control is the unprecedented amount of times we have been royally fucked by the sim and all I can hope for is that maybe finally the sim will stop hating us and not give us multiple losses when we are testing at greater than 70% win rates. It's unfathomable the amount of times we have lost when we should have won. No other team has experienced the amount of upset losses we have and hopefully this upcoming season that will finally come to an end for the Second Line. At this point I know you think we are just a bunch of whiny babies, but you would say the same thing if it happened to you. Code: 214 words (S20) - Ultimus Week - Ozamataz - 02-19-2020 6) Expansion Graphics: Create a design for your new team. To be completed. 8) Scouting Report Written: Write a scouting report for one of the incoming draftees in either the NSFL or DSFL. To be completed. 9) Brotherly Love Tijuana Luchadores and Ozamataz “It’s Prounounced Ozamataz” Buckshank – a match made in heaven? Here at GNN Total Sports, the huge surge of rookies signing up as legal for the league has us very excited – and there is at least one serious prospect available for the Tijuana Luchadores. We firmly believe that Ozamataz Buckshank should be top of their list when it comes to filling the CB hole that they have on their roster. With only three CBs currently listed at the time of writing, as well as the second most points allowed in the DFSL last year, Tijuana has a clear need to shore up their defence in the upcoming offseason. Buckshank, a speed machine who covered zones effortlessly during his college career, looks like a good shot on football terms alone. Yet, there is a rumour following this young man, and that’s an area that the Luchadores must look into. Some five years ago, a small wrestling show in the south of America witnessed the debut of a masked man. Unusual for some wrestling close to the border, this masked man was clearly not of Latin-American heritage – but his athleticism and speed showed incredible potential. Though he lost the match to the main event star El Hijo del Sol, this new talent caused a huge buzz around the arena and across the local wrestling scene. Yet he wasn’t seen again – where did El Mitico Jr. go? Well, folks, we here at GNN believe that Ozamataz Buckshank WAS El Mitico Jr., and despite his impressive performance, he gave up his chance in the ring for his chance to make it big in the NSFL. We’ll be following his career keenly – and with a heritage like this, Tijuana should too.. [289 words] 15) Superstardom Graphic: Create a billboard, magazine cover, or video game cover depicting a superstar of the league. Not sure my new player counts, but worth a go. ![]() (S20) - Ultimus Week - Mooty99 - 02-19-2020 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: Well with the Copperhead's first time in the Ultimus I can really only make 1 prediction here and that is for a victory for the Austin Copperheads over the Yellowknife Wraiths in this the 20th season of the NSFL. It is not going to be easy going however. The 1st part to overcome is playing away, it is lucky that Yellowknife play in a dome but I guess if they didn't you wouldn't be able to play football at all in the artic cold of the north. Now there will be a few keys match ups in this game, the 1st will be Austin's front line vs Yellowknife's run game. The Yellowknife run game has been very strong this season however Austin have done very well with stuffing most opposition's run game, just look at the last game against the much vaulted New Orleans run game was held at bay. The other match up will be if Yellowknife's secondary can stop the connection between Cole and Tidwell as when it sparks magic happens. Overall it will be a close game with Austin snatching the win 30-27, you heard it here 1st so don't believe anything else you read on this, trust me!!! WC 202 6) Expansion: There is a very simple key to being a successful expansion team, copy exactly what Austin did and not what Chicago did. Wait, what do you mean I can't just finish this section there but have to go on till it is 200 words long, well I will try. The most important think to do is build a team through the draft slowly, don't go for that quick all or nothing win. Building and active team through the draft is the best way to have a decent size Ultimus window. The 2nd thing to do is have a fun active locker room. Locker room culture is so important, it brings a team together, it keeps people on the team, it keeps people active and it make people want to come to you. After you have worried about drafting well and build a great locker room culture then the last thing you need is good branding. Pick a unique mix of colour to make you stand out (cough cough not red!). Pick a location that is fun and people would to image living in and have a fun and cool looking logo, a snake is cool, a bell less so. Done! WC 200 16) Dynasty: Well I am pretty certain that the Austin Copperheads are now set to become a legendary dynasty. We have been slowly building over the years since the teams creation and are now coming into our power, as you can tell from our 1st Ultimus appearance. We have a core of players coming into there prime starting with the most important position the quarterback. We have a large number of players from the season 15 and 16 draft so all these players should now be at there ver best meaning we have a top quality quarterback, runningback, wide receiver, safety, cornerback, linebacker, tight end, do I need to go on more with this? We have more young players coming through as well, 2 more young and active wide receivers, some young talented defensive backs and a very young and powerful defensive line. But with all these player we have more as well. We have a very strong war room and while our general manager is stepping down a new more vanishing more english general manager is stepping up to take his place so all it good, there is even a further potential general manager waiting to step up as well. So we are the next big dynasty so watch out! WC 209 19) OL or K/P Appreciation: There is only 1 person that I have to pick for this and that is our lord and saviour Alberto 'Hercules' Crisco the record setting Austin Copperheads punter, kicker and all round super man. Now it is very easy to appreciate Alberto Crisco especially after this season. Let's look at his stats for this season starting with the boring stats, punting. Crisco has the longest average punt of the regular season (50 yards per punt compared to 47.8 yards of the nearest rival). Next on punting we can look at the longest punt, again he wins with 78 yards compared to the nearest of 73 yards so he is the punting king. Now on to kicking and again Crisco is a boss. And let us go to the big number this season 65 yards. Why 65 you ask, well that was Crisco's record setting field goal this season smashing the previous record of 61 yards. Next is the rest of the field goal details, Crisco has was 4th in accuracy in both field goals and extra points this season so when combined is actually 2nd overall for combined accuracy and has far more attempts than the person in 1st. What is more he has scored more points overall than anyone else. WC 212 (S20) - Ultimus Week - s4ndr0p - 02-19-2020 8) Scouting Report Upcoming DSFL Defensive Liner Sandro Ryeu Sandro Ryeu surprised many Football lovers with a great breakout year before entering the DSFL in the next season. Ryeu is known for his quickness all over the Field. As a defensive end with great hand usage and good speed, he has been able to be a problem of many offensive tackles this season. His lateral movement is by far the strength of his game. though he was a backup caliber end in his first year in college don't be surprised if this late-round projected prospect slips into one of the earlier rounds. His production made a huge step forward which tells a lot about Ryeu's work ethic and teams usually like these kinds of players! The Upsides of Ryeu's game: His technique is surprisingly good, the use of his hands is above average. With his quickness, he was able to make opponents look silly and QBs tend to lose vision of him when pressure comes from multiple angles. The downside: He struggled against big linemen. His power seems to be very low and he didn't find a way to compensate this with his quickness. He loses his concentration and gets too greedy when going after the QB which creates big run lanes between the gaps. ![]() 4) Rivalry Here comes the News a lot of you want to hear: Defensive End Sandro Ryeu and Offensive Lineman Sylvester Berlin are two of the prospects in the upcoming DSFL-Draft. Fans were able to watch the matchup between Ryeu and Berlin for 3 times last season. As soon as these two touched the same field many of the Lund University and the Heidelberg University Fans knew one thing: The matchup between the two of them was going to be heated. Berlin gave up 2 Sacks to Ryeu in the 3 games but was able to keep Ryeu unusually quiet. The Matchup reached its peak in the second game the two teams played against each other. Their Teammates had to clear a fight between the two that luckily didn't get anyone ejected. The third time they met in the Europe bowl with superior performance by Berlin. Let's hope that we will see this matchup a couple more times in the future or maybe the two alongside each other in the same team who knows. Both players are expected to be drafted by a Team in the 21st DSFL Season. Let's wish both of them the best! A short article about the Europe-Bowl performance by the "NFL100"-journal: ![]() 6) Create a Team Logo ![]() 10. Reform Written: If you were in charge of managing the league, what changes would you make to make it better run? Okay, how about a thought experiment. I really love the idea of simming matches and checking the statlines but there is just one problem with the curent method (DDSPF16): Matches aren't really feeling intense. The Performance is laggy and the plays are as long as 6 seconds or less. It would be amazing if there was a way to sim matches while having the joy of watching a real football sim. Now hear me out: As bad as the Madden series is in recent years, i think the slow sim (aka watching cpus play) is really enjoyable. Matches can really feel like there was momentum shifting or star-players look amazing doing their magic. Would be really interesting trying to simulate some matches (maybe not important ones) with the madden sim. There is a huge problem though: the scaling of player archetypes. In Madden there are no players with a speedrating of 60 or just very rare. With the current stats it's very likely that your player does not have 70 speed for many position groups. Furthermore specific categories aren't really transferable. "Throw Accuracy" in ddspf means "Throw acc short/mid/long" in madden. It's not easy to handle the simming differences but it would be awesome to see it. Maybe someone has enough time and motivation to work something out! (S20) - Ultimus Week - Exilizer - 02-19-2020 1) Playoff Review: This year’s DSFL Ultimini was the first ever SIM that I watched live, staying up late in the EU to follow the game. Unfortunately, from the perspective of a neutral fan, the game was extremely one-sided, with a dominating win from the Minnesota Grey Ducks, who beat the Buccaneers 28-3, a score line that surely brought back memories of the NE-ATL superbowl a few years back. This time though, there was to be no comeback, and no late charge. Absolutely nothing went the Buccaneers way, and they were unable to sustain a drive. While there were a couple of crucial INTs from QB Ramos, the main reason for the loss was the number of undisciplined errors. A total of 15 penalties for 150+ yards were the nail in the coffin for the Buccaneers as this stifled any kind of offensive momentum. On the other side of the ball, the Grey Ducks made the most out of their (redzone) drives, with Touchdowns from Blake Gregg, Baby Yoda and Austin Brehio. The one mistake, the lost fumble, ultimately did not end up costing the Ducks, who put in a good offensive performance. In the end they got a deserved win that will nonetheless leave some very upset Buccs fans & players behind, that no doubt will be itchting to get going in the new season. Code: 222 words 6) Expansion: If the NSFL was to expand next season, I would like it to take a leaf out of the DSFL’s book and maybe get a couple of competing non US based franchises. This would give player’s from other regions more of an incentive to participate in the league and would overall add further flavor to the league, leading in turn to more content and more fun all round. On a personal level, I would put a franchise into Germany, and build it from the ground up, with a solid foundation through the initial expansion draft and then subsequent FA acquisitions. I’d rather go for a slower burn, than try to win it all immediately and aim to build the next dynasty, instead of a one and done team. For this I would pick the best available talent in the draft and then add in veterans were needed until the average age of the team can be lowered. To achieve all of this, I would make sure to hire a good team around me, as this is not a one man job but a team effort. I would like to find a co-GM that complements my weaknesses and a strong war-room that knows what they are looking for in a player. Code: 210 words 10) Reform While I am still new around here, I have a number of suggestions that could help both the people running the league as well as all the players. First of all, I would look to optimise some of the processes of grading / claiming TPE related tasks, by introducing some kind of automation. Whether this be in the form of a web portal or even a mobile app would depend on the skills available in the league, but I am sure something could be implemented to make everyone’s lives easier. A similar concept could be used for media grading and bank balance management. Everyone loves a spreadsheet, but there are alternatives. Another thing I would consider, is significantly slowing down the speed of the simulations, especially in playoff games. Currently the games are over in a flash and are quite hard to follow. Individual actions are hard to keep track off and I would like to see that change. Finally, I would look to see what could be done to further improve the Wiki to make it as comprehensive as possible, a task on which I have already embarked myself, as I am currently updating the DSFL stats and records. Other things that need some love are making sure that there are team pages for everyone and some of the early history of the league is better recorded, which would help newbies catch-up with previous seasons. Code: 235 words 12) Interview a Star Written: Interview a player who is in either of the league’s playoffs this year. You must ask at least four questions, at least three of which must relate to the league. YOU MUST POST THE QUESTIONS AND THEIR ANSWERS FOR CREDIT. Q1: What is Kacey's biggest dream? And how will you go about achieving it? Kacey Dream has two Dreams cause he has to live up to live up to his name and Dream big. His first Dream is to win. Now you might be asking yourself, 'What is it that the Dream wants to win?" Well I'll tell you right now, it's everything. Championships, awards, women's hearts. You name it and the Dream is gonna win it. He already has an Ultimini and a slew of DSFL awards under his belt(including MVP) and that is just the start. Q2: What advice would you give your rookie self? If the Dream could go back to the start and talk to himself, the first thing he would say is,"You keep doing you baby" Ain't nobody Dreams like the Dream and Dreamin' is what got me where I am today. Now after I've said that I would tell myself not to get too full of myself or distracted. Back in the day I didn't think I had to work hard to get where I'm at, I thought I had enough God-given talent to let me become the Greatest of All Time without trying. Well I'll tell myself and everyone else around that ain't nobody gets anywhere worth being without trying their ass off. Q3: How do you manage everyone's expectations after your remarkable year on defense in the DSFL? Well this is a double edge sword of a question right here. I not only have to manage my own expectations for myself as well as everyone else's expectations of me but I have to manage the expectations of the new guys coming into the league. Cause I will tell you right now, that was a historical season that will go down as one of the greatest defensive performances of all time. I will be blessed if I have another season like that in the NSFL and it is just foolish for rookies to think that they will put up those kind of numbers in a season. So I have to keep not only myself down to Earth but all the new guys looking to do what I did. The best way to do this is look at how the greatest Cornerbacks to play the game started. Some started slow and it's not about how you start but how you finish. Q4: What is the most enjoyable part of being a GM, and why? I'll tell you right now, I love being a GM. Coaching and scouting the guys is a great experience. Some of them are lost in this world or intimidated. There is no greater feeling than sparking that fire in them. Seeing that passion burn in them where there wasn't before, I'll tell you what man, there is nothing better. And to top it all off I have gotten some great friends from GMing. Those guys are my brothers and I wouldn't give it up for anything. Thank you Kacey. Code: [500 words] (S20) - Ultimus Week - juicychase - 02-19-2020 6) Expansion Written: There have been a lot of new players entering the league recently. If you were in charge of a new expansion team for the NSFL or DSFL, how would you go about it? As GM of a new expansion team I would revolutionize the league with new never-before-seen strategies that baffles defensive coordinators around the league. 3 FB formations, Wishbone and other unorthodox offenses will be mixed together to form the most confusing attack the league has ever seen. Conversely, the defensive approach will be unique in such a way that opposing quarterbacks will have no idea what they are facing. 6 down defensive lineman with 1 linebacker and 4 defensive backs would be the base formation and in obvious passing situations, I would flip the script and run 2 defensive ends, 2 linebackers and 7 defensive backs. I would focus on obtaining high-speed players across the board with the exception of the offensive line. I would build as much depth as possible and wouldn’t be afraid to take players with lower endurance. I would rather rotate players and have fresh legs anyway. The league would try to adjust to stop my revolutionary strategy, but I would always be one step ahead. If they stack the box to take away my 3 FB strategy, then I will respond with whacky wide receivers. Once I had my team built how I wanted, the only way to stop it would be building a roster specifically towards stopping my team which would leave them vulnerable to other teams in the league. 8) Scouting Report Written: Write a scouting report for one of the incoming draftees in either the NSFL or DSFL. This is an in-depth scouting report on upcoming draft prospect, Simeon Works, Defensive End from the University of Alabama. Simeon Works had some character concerns coming into the University of Alabama due to his rough upbringing and difficult family life, however, he showed maturity and improvement in his character during his time at Alabama, mainly due to the excellent coaching staff and supportive environment. Aside from some early academic struggles, Simeon was able to stay out of trouble during his tenure at the University. On the field, Simeon was a productive player and showed gradual improvement each year. He came in a little raw and ended up redshirting his freshman season. During his redshirt freshman season, he saw action in 9 games and recorded 31 tackles, 9 for loss and 5 sacks with 1 forced fumble. His sophomore season saw a big jump in production as he played in 14 games and recorded 63 tackles, 14 for a loss and 10 sacks. He was named 2nd team All-SEC. His Junior year would be his final year in college before he declared for the draft and he continued his solid production with 69 tackles, 16 for a loss and 12 sacks and was named first team All-SEC and 2nd team All-American. He was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. He has good size at 6’5 275 and plays with more quickness than one would expect from someone his size. Needs some improvement on shedding blocks at the next level and playing with leverage. Needs to gain a little more lower body strength to be able to compete with elite tackles at the next level. 9) Brotherly Love Written: We always talk about what teams and players are our rivals. This season, give me what team or player you have a soft spot for I have always had a soft spot for really big guys that like to run the ball. No one encompasses that better than B Bot, Guard from San Jose SaberCats. Bot finished the year with 6 carries for 4 yards and a long of 1 yard. Not only did San Jose give the big man the ball, they let him tote it 6 times. That means they watched, with their own eyes, as Bot got the ball and immediately hit the line of scrimmage like a pig being dropped into a mud puddle and decided it was a good idea to keep giving him the ball. The next carry, Bot took the handoff right tackle and had a gaping hole. By the time he got to the hole, the free safety and weakside corner were already there to fill it and they held onto his legs while a pair of defensive linemen jumped on his back. Picture Billy Bob from Varsity Blues but instead of scoring the game winning touchdown he was concussed and shit himself trying to make a simple play. The next 4 carries were no better but he was at least able to gain positive yardage based on sheer mass alone. Bot continues to ask for carries yet the San Jose coaching staff has decided not to continue giving him the ball. Who will be next years B Bot? Tune in to find out. 3) Revenge Written: Write 200 words about a team you’d like to get revenge on next season and why. Did they knock you out of the playoffs? Blow you out? Next year I would like to get revenge on the Orange County Otters. Not because my team lost to them. In fact, I haven’t even gotten drafted yet. The main reason I want to get revenge is because I was bitten in the balls by an Otter when I was 13. I would spend the Summer at my Aunt’s house on the California coast. Me and my cousins would go down to the beach and antagonize the Sea Lions while we drank energy drinks. One afternoon, I had one too many Red Bulls and decided to get a little too close to a group of Sea Lions. The biggest one dove off the embankment into the Pacific Ocean and started to swim away and I went after him. I just wanted to pat his little head. I was about 30 yards from shore when I felt a piercing pinch right on my testicles. I looked down and a Sea Otter had emerged from the Kelp below me and latched onto my coin purse. I yelled for my Cousins to help but it just made the Otter more angry so he bit again with more ferocity. Blood started spewing from my sack and I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness. Next thing I knew, I was waking up on the beach to my Cousins standing over me laughing. Ever since that day, I have vowed to beat the shit out of any and all Otters I encounter. (S20) - Ultimus Week - AL_GRINGO - 02-19-2020 Task 5 As a completely new user and player in the National Simulation Football League I know little to nothing about the teams or players but i will try my best to give advice on what moves i would make. The Yellowknife Wraiths seem to be a top team in the league with a record of 9-4 and are undefeated at home winning 7 in a row. I would not change much for them but try to maybe dump some older players for draft picks or prospects. When looking at the bottom of the standings we find the Chicago butchers who have an amazing passing attack but that is about it. They have a quarterback that seems to be the real deal but nothing around him. They should package some mid tier guys to go after a Top level talent on defense to help out their top offense. For teams that are middle of the pack it is all about finding the hidden gems in the draft. If you can find an active player in the late rounds that could be all that is needed to push them over the top. Either way like i said i know little to know about this league and just want that sweet TPE. Code: 209 words Task 6 Coronado Conquistadors expansion team logo ![]() Task 8 Scouting report time and this is one of my favorite aspects of sports. How will the new players pan out and what will their careers have in store for them? I know little to nothing about this league since i just joined but I am going to be doing a scouting report on myself. George 'Corpse Grinder' Fisher just recently gave up his long career as a vocals for cannibal corpse to pursue his real passion, the sport of football. He may not have a lot of experience with the game but one look at his neck and you know he can lay some wood out there as a Linebacker. He has been focusing on improving his speed leading up to the draft since that seems to be the best stat in this game. He may seem like a crazy unlikeable person on the outside but dont let his death metal persona fool you. He is actually a soft teddy bear that enjoys walks on the beach and playing with puppies. Any team that is looking to pick up an active linebacker would be foolish to not consider this maniac on defense. Look for him to go early in the draft to a team that has a big need on defense. Code: 211 words PBE Welfare (Username: KJ760) (S20) - Ultimus Week - nickyvmlp - 02-19-2020 2) League Milestone Written: This year is the 20th playoff season of the NSFL. In your opinion, what was the most thrilling playoff game of these past years? Give a review of that game and why you consider it to be great. Maybe this is being a bit egotistical, but my most thrilling playoff game would have to be the only playoff win I've ever been a part of. Season 15, semi-finals. San Jose vs. Orange County. We came into the game as the best team in the league and the defending champions, eleven wins on the season, the best defense in the league, and two victories over the Otters in the regular season. The game started a bit sketchy with the Otters scoring ten points right out of the gate, but from then on, it was all Sabercats. A touchdown pass to Cam Olsen, three rushing scores from Joliet L. Christ, Chris Orosz and Corwin Davenport, and three field goals from Neo Donaldson gave us 37 points on the night, while the Otters could only get a second touchdown from Apollo Reed. Final score 37-17, and that win set us up for a date with the Baltimore Hawks, which is a game I don't want to talk about ever again, so let's just move on. I even had a decent night of my own, with four catches, 29 yards, and six pancake blocks. Not bad for a rookie... 6) Expansion Graphics: Create a design for your new team. Meet the Wichita Bombers ![]() 11) Playoffs MVP Written: Wrote about a heroic performance on the field by any player this playoff season. Why do they deserve to be called the MVP of the playoffs? Easton Cole played like a boss in the Ultimus, and if this question was about Ultimus MVP, I'd say him, but this says playoffs MVP, so for that, I'd look toward their sexy defense that gave up the fewest points in the league, and go with safety Takeda Okura. In the first round, he terrorized the Outlaws, sacking rookie QB Jay Cue twice, and pressuring the QB on a play that resulted in a Xerxes Ridley pick-six. Next week, in the conference championship, he had three tackles, a deflection and a pick, while forcing New Orleans QB Stan Francisco to a relatively empty day. Then, in the Ultimus, he came to play once again, finishing the night with four tackles, three deflections, a sack and a pick that was just a few yards short of six points. The Copperhead defense made Cooter Bigsby, one of the league's better quarterbacks, look like a total scrub out there, and I think Okura deserves a lot of credit for such a performance. This is even more impressive when you consider that his season stats and current TPE suggest that he's normally an average starter, but for these playoffs, he was playing like someone who wanted a big payday. 15) Superstardom Graphic: Create a billboard, magazine cover, or video game cover depicting a superstar of the league. ![]() (S20) - Ultimus Week - slacjr - 02-19-2020 8) Scouting Report of Safety Jimmy Cooks The positives: Jimmy Cooks brings a lot of speed to the table. He has the ability to cover everything inside the numbers and potentially make a play near the sideline if he can get a beat on the throw. His agility gives him the ability to recover if he misses a cut when covering man to man. Also allows him to break away from his assignment and make a play somewhere else on the field. Overall, his athleticism should be something that GMs should pay attention to. The negatives: Jimmy Cooks is liable to be looked off by opposing quarterbacks. While his athleticism can bail him out of trouble most of the time, there are times when the ball is thrown to the opposite side of the field that he is drifting too. And that athleticism may not hold up as well at the next level. He will need time and coaching to really be able to see the field as well as you would want a pro safety to be able to. Overall, Jimmy Cooks does need some coaching to really make an impact at the next level, but he has the potential to become a star player in this league for a long time.
