(S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - gbfn - 06-23-2020 When looking back at the draft for the NSFL S23 draft, there are many memories coming to my mind. First I was seen as a first round pick and also in the mix for going 1 OA. As it turned out i was picked by Honolulu going at number 3 OA. I was really trying to max earn before the NSFL draft, only skipping 1 prediction so far (still irritates me up to today), so to me my effort payed off very well. As i am from Austria the draft started at 2 am CEST. I was sleeping pretty good at that time. First thing in the morning I checked my phone i was making sure to not be spoilered by anyone on how the draft went. I sat at the breakfast table and watched the draft. First pick was Greedy Sly to the Yeti. That was no surprise for me. He was the top earner in the draft, had a stacked bank account and is a very active member. So to many he was the obvious pick. Before the second pick was announced i was getting really nervous. From now on I could go everywhere. But it was not my time. Tyler Montain went to Baltimore. Also very solid pick. When my name was announced at number 3 i was hyped. I got the chance to go to an expansion team with an impressively young roster. So there would be high chances to make immediate impact. I knew it would be tough at the beginning as the team is in building mode but we really have all chances to improve as a whole team over the course of the next 3-4 season. I am excited to be with the Lua and maybe build a team which, with ny doubt, has the potential to win big time in the future. Code: 307 words (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - Buttersqauch101 - 06-23-2020 Back in Season 15 I created the player Brayden Ennis, a defensive tackle out the university of Wyoming. I mainly created this player as a DT due to the fact I have connections to the Defensive Tackle position and it would get me draft higher. When I first joined I had multiple mocks having me go in the top round (this was when the DSFL only had 4 teams, Kansas City, Tijuana, Portland, and San Antonio) so I went into the draft stream with high hopes. Honestly my dreams were crushed as Ennis slipped, and slipped down wall the way to 18th overall to at the time not the team I was most interested in. I was signed as a waiver pickup to the Duilio and Shady led San Antonio Marshals and everything since I wanted to return as I loved the GMs there. I Ended up going to the Kansas City Coyotes and the rest is history. I feel in love with the team and the people On it with me. @Rradum has been my gm 2 times now which is cool af as many people don’t get their DSFL gm as their nsfl gm also. Also Ennis was a cool boy and went 4th overall in the S17 draft because he became active again (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - kentakira - 06-23-2020 hope this enough ![]() (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - Attopax - 06-23-2020 Given that I have only been here for 1 draft, I will talk about the S23 DSFL draft. To be honest, I expected that I would go rather high in the draft. I was the 2nd highest TPE in the class behind Kyamprac, but only by one point. In a vacuum, I would have anticipated going first overall since Zoe Watts was a kicker and I knew that they typically did not go higher than defensive players. But, being friends and talking about our experiences, I knew that she would likely be doing a position switch. Therefore, while I wasn't surprised that I went first overall, I was not exactly expecting it because that position switch possibility made the draft a much bigger toss up. I could have totally seen Kyamprac going first if the plan was to convert her to a high priority position. After all, converting from a kicker still could make use of the majority of her TPE. While I would have loved to go to London, my waiver team, I knew that likely was not in the cards for me given their position, and I knew that trading up would've been insanity. I watched the draft with Amidships, Kyamprac, and Tonzy and we all cheered for each other. It was a pretty dope night. So, I was drafted to Kansas City, and the only thing it has done is make me more motivated to get more involved in the league and help out however I can! Can't wait to go through it again! Code: 257 Words (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - bjkman - 06-23-2020 I'm going to mention this every time I can but I got drafted AFTER A RETIRED KICKER! That choice confuses me every time I think about it. In a huge draft class with only a handful of kickers worth a selection, I am forever grateful that the Sarasota Sailfish selected me in the NSFL Draft, Pick #2 in Round #10. While it was much longer than I had hoped I would need to wait, I love being a success story after being such a low draft pick. I remember the DSFL draft... I had to wait 14 Rounds for the Tijuana Luchadores, one of the best group of people I have ever had the privilege to hang out with, they were one of the only teams to reach out to me in the pre-draft process, and I ended up being a 2x DSFL Kicker of the Year Nominee for them and helped them win the Ultimini. That late-round pick sure worked out in their favor, and I'm damn sure that the same result will come to Sarasota taking a chance on me. Being drafted so late puts a chip on your shoulder to prove everyone who did not select you wrong and I have been working my ass off to really prove all the other teams in the NSFL wrong! [220 Words] (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - yonggarius - 06-23-2020 By the time of S22 NSFL draft, I had a good guess of where I'd end up. Unlike the case of DSFL draft- where I went mostly unnoticed and being selected in relatively low position of sixth round- almost all the teams(bar Philly) scouted me, and several teams showed more attention to me than the others did. Those teams were the Copperheads and the Yeti, who both had two scouting conversations with me. My guess was that I was going to end up with either of those teams. And I thought that the Yeti was more likely candidate among those two as they showed more interest to me than the Copperheads did, even asking to me if I'd switch archetype to one more fitting with their scheme, and Wddie Jeeta was regarded as 1st wide receiver in the board over me. So, when the Copperheads took Jeeta with the 31st overall pick late in the third round, I knew my time was close. And my guess struck true. The Yeti immediately proceeded to select my player with the 32nd overall pick. I was so happy, as I had a very good impression about the Yeti from the scouting talks even though I didn't knew many people from the team except the GMs, tvc, and bagel. And infinite stating that the Yeti thought I was the best WR of the draft really warmed my heart. It showed how much they had confidence in me, and had me decide that I will remain a Yeti for the whole of my career. All in all, the draft night was one of the best moments I had with my player so far. (278) (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - s4ndr0p - 06-23-2020 Sandro Ryeu did not get too much attention ahead of both the S21 DSFL- and S22 NSFL-Draft. It seemed like many GMs did have his name on the board and his TPE but nothing else behind it. In the S22 NSFL-Draft Ryeu was picked in the 3rd round as the second defensive end off the board. In this draft defensive end players were very valuable, there were many teams with DE needs and not too many elite edge rusher. Over the course of the season Troen Egghands proved to be the DE who was most likely going to go first. James Cho shocked the world with a late Tier 6 equipment purchase und jumped up to the 2nd highest rated defensive end of the class. Unfortunately, it might have been a bit too late as many GMs already scouted this group and Ryeu remained as the No. 2 guy. Surprisingly, teams evaluated Ryeu's talents only on tpe, ignoring his unique DSFL-statlines as a LB/DE-Hybrid type of a player who most likely had the best statline among his class. Ryeu was Drafted by the Arizona Outlaws as the second DE off the board to fill their defensive end position. Ryeu has yet to find foot in AZ it seems since he is not close to getting the production back he used to produced in his DSFL-Season. 226 words (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - Number 82 - 06-23-2020 Heading into the Season 22 National Simulation Football League Draft, the were a few mock drafts put out. It seemed like Dawkins would probably be a mid-late pick somewhere in the 6-8 round range. Being part of a large draft class that wasn't really a surprise as there was quite a bit of talent in the defensive backs in the class of S22. This was also before any planned/discussed switches that may have been discussed behind the scenes. The 6-8 round range was about where I thought Dawkins would go in, but who knows, I went a fair bit earlier than I thought I would in the S21 DSFL Draft. I was pretty upfront with my answers and expressed my interest in playing in Chicago along with the expansion franchises, Honolulu and Sarasota when scouts from other teams reached out. I also mentioned that it was probably unlikely that I would be a max earner, since at the time I wasn't sure whether I could sustain myself on graphics alone as I don't enjoy writing and I wasn't planning on applying for a job in the league. I didn't hear from Philadelphia or Orange County, so I figured that it would be unlikely that I ended up on either of those teams on draft night. Talks with Honolulu were pretty positive so I was hopeful that I might end up there. Come draft night, Dawkins ended up being selected in the 4th round (37th overall) by Honolulu. It was a surprise to be picked that early, but I was pretty excited at the opportunity to be part of Honolulu's future secondary alongside fellow safety Buck who was one of the S22 defensive backs I met early on. I ended up spending another season in the DSFL to develop and came into S23 in a better position to contribute to the team. The second season in the DSFL was helpful to for my cash flow. Entering S22 close to the DSFL cap, there wasn't a need to purchase equipment immediately (not that I could afford to). During the season, I ended up posting weekly graphics which helped to be to build up my bank account and be in a better position to make an equipment purchase at the beginning of the season while also being able to afford weekly training. (S23) - PT2 - Draft Day - Sutj - 06-23-2020 After being recruited by Reddit in what I believe was one of the biggest draft classes in DSFL history I really wasn't expecting to go high at all. I had quite literally no experience when it came to simulation leagues, and it was the first I had ever heard of them. I had no clue what to do, but I managed to get some of the basics done. As a result, I was drafted far higher than I would ever have expected, at 68th overall to the Tijuana Luchadores, which is possibly the best thing that could have happened for Friedrich Vequain's career. However, we can't ignore the elephant in the room - Friedrich Vequain was just one spot off of the legendary 69th overall pick, a failure that will never be forgotten. Regardless, I was very happy to join the Luchadores, and Vequain entered a very fortunate situation, with both seasons so far being thrown balls by two very high-earning QBs in a very potent offense. Vequain also helped lead Tijuana to their seventh DSFL championship, a number that we hope to increase this season. Vequain finished last season as the number 1 receiver in yards and receptions, and regardless of the snubbing of his WROTY award, I don't think Tijuana is disappointed at all with the production that Vequain has managed to put out.
