RE: (S26) - PT 5 - Fortune Teller - treant - 12-29-2020 Because I am a member who has not been a part of the league for a long time it is not easy for me to try and predict the way that I think it will look in a years time! I also have not had the chance to learn about the teams in the ISFL enough to say the ones that I think are going to have a good year. But I think that something I am able to talk about is the way that the league might change with the new sim that it is going to be using! I do not have a problem with the sim that the league is using already but I have seen that other people do not like it so I think it will be a good thing for the league that the decision has been made to start using a new one! If this is the case and the sim the league uses becomes better then I think that it will help the league and that more people will want to be a part of it for a long time! It could even mean that the league is able to have more members which would be a very good thing! I have spent some time reading the new archetypes that the sim has and it sounds like it will make things very fun, I can’t wait to see the way that traits are going to change things! It sounds like things are going to be very fun for the league during 2021 and I am excited to see the way that things are going to change! I will end by saying that I hope the team that drafts James Wilkinson in the S27 ISFL Draft will be having a very nice 2021 too! Total word count: 301 words! For the league I foresee several positive changes. With the new sim I’ve been told it’s hard to run game to game strategy testing. Since GMs will not have to do this anymore I think it gets a lot of pressure off their plate. It’s a real time commitment trying to figure out how to play against particular opponents. Simplicity is best in this case. With the new sim there will be a lot of uncertainty at first. I know in my case I’m wondering what build I should go with, and how does production by position vary from the DDSPF16 version? I trust our sim transfer team, but there might be a couple things that teams/players exploit early on. Apparently we will be bringing in another NFL reddit draft class. If it’s anywhere close to the size of the s22 class we will have to expand to at least 16 teams, which would be a great number. 8 per conference, 4 playoff teams per conference. These two teams will also mean another expansion draft, which is always a bittersweet occasion. I’ve seen first hand through two expansion drafts how my team lost great talent for the betterment of the league. I’ll take a guess that the ISFL expansion locations will be Madrid and Omaha. With the new Sim coming there is hope that it will draw interest and the league will gain even more outstanding long term players and users. With the new sims changes to many defensive positions I think there will be a ton of incentive to get players watching more and continuing to stay interested. I think any new draftees that come into the league will be more likely to stay active long term with the promise of the new sim providing a more accurate and interesting football simulation experience. I've heard that Dline changes especially to DE will be huge in making a difference and I think for people who used to avoid certain positions it will absolutely open up more recreate possibilities and keep things fresh and interesting. Teams who roll with the punches and are active in helping players in their own locker rooms with the changes on the new sim will absolutely succeed and and become even better in the long run. If there are teams that are hesitant to change or don't actively make sure that their players understand the importance of certain stats and changes over to the new sim will struggle in the coming years. Organization is key and communication from locker room leaders will be paramount in making sure that players are the best they can be so teams can have success in the new simulation. I personally can't wait to see what the DE position looks like in the new sim and hope to see my player rise to stardom in the new sim. RE: (S26) - PT 5 - Fortune Teller - StevenOSullivan - 12-30-2020 I think 2021 is going to be the biggest year yet for the ISFL. I think with some great recruiting numbers we will suddenly see an influx of even more expansion until we have 20 teams in the league by the end of 2021. This will lead to an increased need to really max earn in order to stand out as a player and it will make it harder to win awards and break records, but it will make the league feel much more real as a whole. I think it will be exciting to try to to compete with so many people, we might even break 500 users doing the activity check every week. I think the new sim will really change how the league works as well and people will find new things that work really well and other things that work less well. When it comes to my own player, 2021 is the year of Joseph Radetzky, the wide receiver and I guess I will start in a new era with this new sim. It will be interesting to see how I can do but I think that I will have a good time enjoying myself with this player and hopefully I can do well enough to win some awards and championships. RE: (S26) - PT 5 - Fortune Teller - ZootTX - 12-30-2020 I think the ISFL will look dramatically different once the switch to the new sim is complete, but I don’t necessarily know how. The league has been running on the current sim engine since conception, so it's pretty well understood. That, of course, leads to certain types of players and builds of players to be more common than others, both because they perform better, and because they gain better stats. Everyone likes to look at their dot player and see great stats! Hopefully, the new sim has a better balance so that players will feel more free to pursue a player they enjoy more and still be a productive player, and not just because the player ‘works’ better in the sim. I know there will be hiccups, so hopefully the players will be patient! I hope to see players like fullbacks and blocking TEs become more appealing and a wide variety of QB builds be workable instead of what appears to be the current meta of one current style.I think my team, the Wraiths, will be a standout team in the new sim. This year has gone great for us, and I think we have a great group of players who can also be competitive in the new sim as well.a Hopefully we’ll be the last team to win the Ultimus in the old sim! 227 words |
