RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - flyeaglesfly29 - 07-06-2021

So for me this is could be a little harder than I originally thought given that I am pushing "Old Man CK Status" over here, but from the very beginning the first person that I would have to thank is @Rradum. If it wasn't for you helping us be super lazy at work, I would have never taken this journey into the sim world. We both came in to the league in S15 and somehow we were the GM's of KCC about 2 weeks later and had absolutely no clue what we were doing. Fast forward to the then NSFL draft and I'd have to thanks @Oles and @Muford for making me the 6th overall pick to Chicago after never talking to me one time before the draft haha. However, I will say that this was one of the coolest moments for me in the league and it only made my interest peak higher.

Down the road I would make the best decision I have in this league and join the Yellowknife Wraiths. I can't thank @shadyshoelace and @Bigred1580 enough for reaching out and bringing me in to this amazing organization. I think I've thanked Shady about a million times for all that he did to help my career along the way before he stepped down from being a GM, but it deserves every bit of it. Luckily for me, I was able to find another Co-GM that is just as awesome in @PMoney. The work he does for this team often goes without notice, but I certainly see it and I appreciate it so much!

To wrap this thing up (I could do this all day long), I want to thank the amazing people who have been members of our roster throughout my time in YK, both current and present! Without you folks, there is no YK, and without YK, well there's just no point in having the league!   YKW

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Ephenssta - 07-06-2021

It’s hard to believe that I am coming up on the two-year mark of being in this league. I joined during the fall semester while I was in grad school and have been here through the pandemic and some big life changes. I suppose I should start by thanking Hallmonitor for taking a chance on me as a new create and bringing me into Philadelphia. I still appreciate our time together there and that’s probably where I learned the most about how to be an ok user in this league. The vast majority of my time in this league, though, has been spent with the Colorado Yeti. And while Frick and Woelkers were the ones who initially brought my player there, I have spent most of my time in that locker room dealing with sylphreni and schwarznarr. Thank you both for all your hard work making this team what it is. Being in that locker room has been some of the most fun I have had in the league, whether from playing Minecraft or making bad memes or making fun of wolfie, it has truly been a wonderful experience. Thanks to TomHanks, nunc, and everyone else who made my brief time in DSFL HO such a memorable experience. The times were not always good, but I appreciated getting to know all of you a little bit better and working alongside all of you was a wonderful learning experience. And it would be especially stupid to thank the GMs and not the individual people who make the locker room so incredible. Thank you to isa for bringing your penguin knowledge to the team! Thanks to katarn for sharing your love of pizza with us. Thank you Tesla for your wonderful gifs and pictures that are always somehow perfectly timed. Thank you Swanky (not swanty) for the pictures of your cat and almost GMing a team with me. Connor, I love your dog. And I’m over 300 words now, so I’ll stop, but thank you to everyone else on the team for making the experience amazing.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - yonggarius - 07-06-2021

Through the irl year and a half that I spent in this community, I spent the most of that time (well basically all of it besides management chat) in two locker rooms- Dallas and Colorado. Thus I would like to thank the amazing users from both teams, who are the main reason why I am still actively participating in this league to this day.

First from Dallas, thank you @gucci@Kyle for giving a confused newbie a chance, and even getting me into the war room. Without you guys' help I would've gone IA somewhere in February 2020.

Thank you @iStegosauruzfor selecting me to be your co GM, and for showing me the ropes when I was a noob GM. You were most certainly a guy one can depend on.

And thank you @Kyamprac for putting up with a co from the other side of the world, and still being an amazing GM. I still have fond memories from our GM days!

And finally, but certainly not least, thank you all the Dallas guys from war room members (and current GMs lol) @r0tzbua@ZootTX@Asked Madden@Dallypole@AgentSmith @Gumbaman @ReverendOReily and @zaynzk to regular LR guys like @hexify @OrbitingDeath @enigmatic and @Skindog44. Yall are the best DSFL locker room, and I love all of you guys for it. I hope that we'll keep on the culture for years to come!

Now, to Colorado
First off, thank you @woelkersand @Frick_Nasty for giving me a chance despite my sucky possession build, and for making me the WR that I am today. I'm still thankful that I got to be a Yeti on that draft night.
and thank you @Sylphreni@SchwarzNarrfor being great GMs, and for maintaining our great culture. (And a whispered thank you for yeeting the ball lmao)
Also thank you Yeti war room members @katarn22 @Tesla @ConnorM123@nunccoepi@SDCore@CommishDrip@Ephenssta@SwankyPants31@IsaStarcrossed and @Modern_Duke for putting up with half dead me in the mornings, and always making scouting and drafting a fun experience. I sure enjoyed a lot in here!
And a special shoutout to my guys in the LR @FleshBagSoup @Rusfan and @37thchamber, and all the numerous other guys in Yeti LR. I love yall and thanks for the amazing culture!

For the last year and a half I have been fortunate enough to be in two great environments, and I certainly hope that this will continue!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - ValorX77 - 07-06-2021

I have met so many nice people in the league during my time in this league, so I’ll divide this up in multiple parts to describe the eras, and the friends I’ve met during those times.

Yellowknife

The original team that took a chance on me in the 5th round of the S15 draft. @Bigred1580 and @shadyshoelace are the first two people that come to mind when I think of this era, as they were the most friendly guys in the Yellowknife locker room, BigRed always seemed like a father figure in Yellowknife to me, and shady was always there to help me out when I needed help to build what Ryan Leaf Jr was supposed to be, a Dan Miller clone. The next few people I think of in Yellowknife are @Trautner , @aircrou and @Tomen , @flyeaglesfly29 @timeconsumer @manicmav36 I haven’t spoken with token that much since the Yellowknife days, but he is a positive influence on the Yellowknife locker room, and he will be a leader wherever he gets drafted to on Thursday night. For Crou, you always had the courage to stand out even in the face of adversity, and I’m proud to see that you’re currently successful in Berlin.

Chicago
This was truly my darkest time in the National simulation football league, which was the old name, but I still found some friends, @Blueline is one of them, similar to Tomen, we haven’t talked in awhile, but Blue was a leader in the Chicago locker room.

Austin
This was truly what caused a turnaround in not only my personality in the league, but it also made me a better person.
@JKortesi81 @Mooty99 you guys were crucial to my character change, from helping me build Videl to where she is today, to helping me be more positive in the locker room. @Kyle @Kyamprac @Amidships @GlimsTC @Tonzy @RDBSouthPaw thank you all for being there for me when I need to vent or talk about something, it helped become more aware of some of my personal demons and y’all are crucial to helping me overcome them.

Well to be completely honest I've made way too many friends from both this league and many others such as PBE and SCFSL that will obviously crossover. Sadly @ScorpXCracker has left me but he was very influential into even getting me into this league as was @C9Van who I consider to be very close friends with. Another couple users who I usually bully in a jokingly manner are @LSUFAN101and @Tp3480 who I love to talk to! As always the Norfolk locker room is one of the best one's I've ever been in so thank you for that experience to @SchwarzNarr @Jimi64@ConnorM123 @Blasoonand I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch more. I would also like to thank @zeagle1 and @Hordlefor taking me in despite my ass going inactive on Arizona Outlaws and giving me a second chance. @Teslais genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to and I cannot believe she is that nice lol. The day I anger Tesla will be the day I dissapoint myself cause she's so nice. I would also like to extend that over to my Taylor Swift gang gang @Guriinwoodo@Bayley@124715 and I'm sure there are others out there who I can speak about music all the time, not just in DMs but publicly in other leagues too. I did not realize there were other swifties out there too. @DGarrett32@Philliesphan96 who I originally met through GRSL but thanks to ISFL and other leagues we crossover with I was able to keep that friendship alive with them. Absolutely love giving them shit sometimes and they're really funny dudes. Whilst I met almost everyone in SCFSL I just wanted to tag yall cause you're awesome peeps. Also shoutout to @tlk742@Toasty for dealing with me and my bitching in SCFSL. I have probably forgotten some people to be honest but I can't really namedrop everyone as I have way too many friends lol so if I did forget you I do apologize and just give me shit for it so I remember next time

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - woelkers - 07-06-2021

The first user I need to mention here is @TomHanks. Although ultimately he was not meant to be my GM at either the DSFL or ISFL level, Tommy was quick to engage with me when I first joined the league, and helped drive much of my excitement for the league that I harbor to this day. Tommy was also an integral part of the rookie mentor team while I was head of the department, and I cannot thank him enough for the work he puts into this league and the friendship he has shared with me these past two years or so.

Next, a duo near and dear to my heart, @Duilio05 and @shadyshoelace. It hasn't always been easy to take chances on fresh faces, but these two gambled that I would be worth it simply because I made my name known through a slew of early media articles, and with their support and guidance, I developed into one of the S17 class's top-tier earners, as well as a future GM. I never could have achieved half of what I have here had it not been for the guidance of these two, and their mentorship has meant a great deal to me.

@Frick_Nasty. Nobody has supported my growth here quite as much as you have, dear friend. I may never have been a Colorado Yeti were it not for you, and my journey with Bubba Thumper may have been drastically different had it not been spent largely with Colorado. As much as Bubba is a part of my legacy, he is a part of yours, and you should be proud of what you have accomplished and will accomplish.

@infinitempg might have had some stinky players, but he is far from a stinky person. I have learned a great deal from infinite, and even though he returned to New Jersey, I will always consider him one of the Loons. Infinite, you may not think of yourself as a team builder, but remember all the pieces you drafted, and recognize how important your work was to our S22 Ultimus title.

@Bwestfield there is not enough words for me to express how grateful I am for you. Time and time again, you have bet that I would pay dividends, and I hope you feel I have proven you right. Colorado could never have been champions had it not been for you; New York could never have been champions had it not been for you. You have been a critically important part of my league experience, and, I am sure, the league experiences of many others as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@zaynzk and @TheRocheLimit, the duo nobody expected, the duo that delivered. I write this to make sure y'all both understand that none of what New York is today could be possible had it not been for the two of you. Even though y'all only took the reins of the franchise recently, your contributions have been felt since day one, and I would happily have both of you as Silverbacks again and again.

@run_CMC my old friend, my fearsome running back. I miss you a little more every day, and I hope to see you return for another Hall of Fame career soon. I cannot wait to see Ashley Owens hit the Hall of Fame, his gold jacket is greatly deserved.

@IsaStarcrossed and @SchwarzNarr, I want both of you to understand how important you were to restoring the Colorado Yeti to form. The team is better than when I left it, and both of you have been driving forces for that transformation. Also @Sylphreni was important there too, I just don't want to stroke his ego too much. I am proud of what y'all have accomplished, and I am proud to consider you friends.

@BaconBrother, @FleshBagSoup, @Jay_Doctor, @ScorpXCracker, @TeyonSchavari, since I have not mentioned you already, I want to thank you for your work as members of my rookie mentor team. We were always the tightest department across the league, and we knew how to have fun while also being effective at our job, and that can be exceedingly difficult to do. Much love for y'all.

Finally, last but certainly not least, @bex. I will never tire of reminding you how much your friendship has impacted my life, largely beyond this league, but to attempt to keep this brief, I will just remind you that I am proud of the work you have done to make this league a better place to be. You should never forget how critical you have been to the league's growth, and I hope your legacy is remembered for years and years to come.

There are, of course, many others I could write brief blurbs for here; @iStegosauruz, @Bauer, @Revolution5, @MN_Moosey, @TubbyTim69, @timeconsumer, @Hallmonitor_20, and many others I am forgetting to mention in this space. But, I will pass the buck here to the next person, so theycan have the floor to talk about those who have impacted them. As my final remark: thank you all for making this league something enjoyable enough that I would choose to return for a second run.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Big_Papi - 07-06-2021

Hello all, I wanted to take some time today to give a special shout-out to the person who not only introduced me into this awesome league, but has also taken the time to show me all the different aspects of the league, and has had the patience to ensure I know what it takes to become a great player in this league. This generous and well-endowed person is none other than @shrub02!  Shrub, if you’re reading this, you are my guiding light, my reason for waking up every morning. You make me feel special, and I only hope that, through vigorous hard work and discipline, I can one day be as good of a player, and more importantly, as good of a person as you are. I fantasize about you all day in hopes that you visit me in my dreams while I sleep. So watch out you guys, because I haven’t been this motivated and fired up since my ex-wife Lenore left me. I feel like I’m back in high school fighting alongside my best friends for the state championship. Every tackle I make, every second I am on the field, I shall be dedicating to my main man, shrub02! If you think people were afraid of the Billdozer back in high school, I’m going to redefine the definition of fear. After this next season, they will revise the dictionary to put a picture of me next to the word terrorist. So mark my words anyone who is reading this post, there’s a new cowboy in town and he’s here to take shit over. The Billdozer has made his long-awaited return, and he’s here to stay. I’m too old to reenlist in the military so you are all stuck with me for the long haul. Or my name isn’t William Fontaine de La Tour Dauterive.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Swanty - 07-06-2021

Here goes!

I'm going in a rough timeline order, but @Maglubiyet might be the user I have the biggest thanks for. As well as being one of the nicest, most genuine users in the league, he was the first person to reach out on Discord and my biggest supporter in pushing to get me drafted to London. For that, and for about a billion other things, I'm very grateful.

To @Sylphreni and the rest of the London WR at the time, including @Z-Whiz, @DeadlyPlayer, @Modern_Duke, and @Highhaschdi for agreeing to draft me to London. You guys helped build a star-studded team that culminated in an Ultimini win in my first season, with such an amazing cast of users and players. A big thank you!

Thanks to @abh89 for guiding me through the position switch process with you to CB, for being a great GM in London, a really valuable member of HO and a great friend over the last year or so.

To @Highhaschdi and @Dewalt27, thank you so much for trusting me enough to draft me to your brand new team. What you've built over the last 5 seasons has been nothing short of amazing, and I've loved every minute of it. I know you'll get that Ultimus you deserve soon enough! The fact that we've had no one leave in FA since the creation of the team is an incredible achievement and I hope you guys go on to smash the longest tenured GM pairing record.

To @slate and @"Punter715", I'm so lucky to have gotten the chance to work with you both on the sim transfer. It was a great experience exploring and redesigning everything from scratch with you both, and even though it was a ton of work, working with you both made it fun. And to @JPach, thank you so much for letting us run with it, and for defending and sticking up for us so many times. Thank you also to each and every one of the ISFL and DSFL GMs for helping your teams through the transition.

To @bex, thanks for hiring me to the budget team, as an HO intern and full HO. Your trust has been so much appreciated and I've learned a lot from you in a short space of time. It's truly unbelievable how much you do for this league that goes unnoticed. And to @TomHanks as well for hiring me as a DSFL intern. I really appreciated the opportunity and the league is so much better for having you lead the way in the DSFL. And to my HO colleagues, both DSFL and ISFL, thanks for being great people to work with.

To everyone who I had really great scouting chats with, both for DSFL and ISFL. I really appreciate the time you took and loved getting to know you all. Sorry we didn't get to play together and apologies if I forget anyone here but thanks to @yonggarius, @flyeaglesfly29, @Kyamprac, @Blasoon, @woelkers for the great talks!

Thanks to @Tesla for everything you do with the DSFL highlights. I really enjoyed them when I was a rookie and I'm so glad to see you're still doing them!

Thanks to everyone who's ever been involved in mentoring rookies and in particular @SchwarzNarr who has gone above and beyond for a long, long time. It's the most important function in the league and it's awesome to see when a great mentoring experience can be the difference between someone who doesn't stick around after creating to become one of the many legendary users here who contribute way more than they take out.

Big thanks to @infinitempg for a list of achievements that have made this league so much better that would be too long to write out. Everyone here owes you quite a few beers for everything you've done.

Another big thank you to two perhaps slightly more unsung heroes of the league: @manicmav36 and @Laser. You guys do so much, especially behind the scenes, and we're lucky to have people like you who give far more than they get from the league.

And finally, thanks to the friends I've made in my time here. @katarn22, @slate, @"Punter715", @Mojojojo, @abh89, @Maglubiyet, @Hordle, @platanocat, @zaynzk, @DeadlyPlayer, @Crunk, @.simo, @ReverendOReily, @Menace0528, @.emfaith, @Jimi64, @Kotasa, @Modern_Duke, @Pancakes, @ShnarlyDude, @zeagle1, @Jo3fish5, @Highhaschdi, @Dewalt27, @noanic and probably a few others I've forgotten, it's been so great to get to know you all over the last year or so. Long may it continue!

I've probably missed out a lot of people who deserve a shoutout, but if you're reading this, thanks so much for being a part of this league!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Muford - 07-06-2021

I could be the homer pick and go with the people that have been with me through thick and thin since the beginning, and those would be without a doubt @Bayley and @ckroyal92 . Instead though, I thought it would be great to shine some light on some of the newer faces, so that everyone can understand how fucking great they are.

First and foremost, @TheCC has been nothing short of spectacular since taking over for me in Chicago. I can go to him about most things and just shoot the shit with him, and he even knows he’s the curse as well so that makes it so much better. I am so happy we drafted him back in the 11th round so many seasons ago.

Secondly, @Crodyman and @RussDrivesTheBus have been nothing short of some of the best GMs I’ve had, in ever. They are always there to answer questions, and have made Minnesota a place I have come to quite enjoy and love much like San Jose and Chicago. I feel so welcomed and so loved whenever I show up in the Locker Room and what they are doing is outstanding.

@SnowyWolfz or whatever his actual name is on the forums has also been amazing. Late night chats, bullshitting around, and just general support for one another has made it great to be in the DSFL Again. He’s one in a million, he just gets loud on the mic sometimes in voice. LOL

All in all, I will say that anyone and everyone that is still in the Minnesota Organization has made the DSFL very enjoyable for me and that I have loved my time down in Minnesota. While I have been on a few different teams, this has been quite a story so far. I’ll go as far as to say I am happy to be a Dirty Fucking Grey Duck.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Crodyman - 07-06-2021

There are a few users in this league that have helped me out in more ways than simply league stuff. The biggest name that comes to mind is @ my co-GM in Minnesota. I have, at times, not been able to be around as much as others due to real life getting in the way. I’m a chef, and thus I work long hours, and until recently really late hours. It makes it hard to be as engaged at times, and so for better or worse I’ve leaned on Russ hard these last few seasons. His role as Minny GM cannot be overstated enough. He takes on the lion’s share of responsibility, and a lot of the behind the scenes stuff that I haven’t been able to learn, let alone had time to do. Beyond what he does for the team, he has been a really understanding, patient, and compassionate friend and I value his presence in my life. He is truly the engine behind this wonderful franchise.

Other people who come to mind are my friends in the Minny war room. @Gragg9, @Painted , @IceBear32 and @Fronk and @CLG Rampage have all offered their time and experience with the league and it has been a blessing getting to know them as humans and not just as sim users.

I’d like to give a special shout out to my friends and original GMs, @TheCC, @BenDover, and @thevoicelesscreator for introducing me to the league and making my experience so positive and fun that I decided to stick around and become more engaged. Whether its just talking and joking in Quack-Chat, or playing Phasmophobia with CC and company, I never expected to become so close with people I’ve never met in person. The internet is a crazy but sometimes beautiful thing.

Finally, I want to give a huge shoutout to @ThunderTitan82for being the other half of the Gruesome Twosome. He’s one of  The league good. Users good. Be kind.
