(S3) - Weekend PT #1 - Off-Season - 124715 - 09-09-2017

(09-09-2017, 11:45 PM)Silver Fox Wrote:“It’s ok Tim.  You’re OROY to me.” Fox consoled Tim Pest, shaking his head at the TV in the bar as Darlane “Butterfingers” Farlane took his award from Commissioner Ballerstorm, nearly dropping it in the process. “I guess volume is all that matters.”  “But..no sacks!  None!”  “I know, Tim, I know.  Barkeep, another couple shots over here please.”

Well, I’ll show you volume this year.  We’ve got Clifford Rove now, and Jameis is going to disappear like a bad dream.  All those inaccurate throws?  Gone.  Now they’re going to me instead of out of bounds.  Spent a lot of time with our new QB, and it’s like night and day.  I barely even have to work for it anymore, I just look back and hold my hands out and there’s the ball.  Clifford Rove: ball in your hands in 5 seconds or less or your money back.  You thought we came out of nowhere last year?  We’re gonna blow your minds this season.

I’ve spent days in front of the jugs machine, until I can catch in my sleep.  Left handed, right handed, both, from any and every angle.  I’ve been sprinting and working on my form; cut another couple 10ths of a second off my 40 time.  Hell, in practice I almost caught Omar Wright; that’s like catching the wind.  Playbook?  Memorized.  Route running?  More crisp than ever.  Stiffarm?  Check.  Those corners are going to bounce off like they hit a wall.  Get ready NSFL, because Liberty is coming for you.

RING THE BELL!

In the offseason I did two parts of off season. first I did part of off season. the first off season part was celebrating for being a champion and doing better in season 2 versus season 1. To do my celebrating I did a lot of fun things like played a lot of dance dance revolution and ate a lot of good food with my new big money. When I was doing my food eating I was very careful to be a limited eaters so I did not eat too much and not be ready for season 3. I also went to the famous ice skate park in Arizona so I could do some ice skating to work on agility and fun times also.
In part 2 of the off season I did the exact thing I did in season 2 off season because it was good results on the field so I want to do that again for this season 3. I was going to the gym all day of every week and doing heavy weight lifts with personal trainer and I also did agility, speed, and exercise activities with my offensive lineman coach to practice offensive lineman things like hand placement, counter moves, and those types of things.

DSFL draft will be my first one, so I had to seek out some advice from some college teammates. Some of them gave me tips for combine, some gave me tips for interviews with GMs, what to wear, how to talk to the media, etc. One thing that was made clear, when you're in college, there are some fast guys on every team, yeah, but they say that in the NSFL everyone's fast. I've been focusing on my conditioning, I really want to be the fastest linebacker out there. I was already the fastest back at NC State, but now, with the best of college football, I'm not sure where I stand. We're going to see in camp, and then when the season starts. People that interested in see my workouts can go digging on the NSFL website, there's a log of all the attributes that I've been working on improving. In addition to getting quicker, I've been working on tackling a bit. It's one of my strengths, no doubt, but it's something that will elevate my status in the draftee rankings if I can show some progress and improvement. I'm ready, I'm going to show the DSFL that Noah Goodson is a great linebacker in the making.

After the final game of his junior season, his first game starting at Yale, Ryan Fitzfatrick knew he was ready to declare for the drat.

Ryan knows he needs to be a biggest big boy to be a solid DT in this league. In his advanced physics class at Yale, he learned that force equals mass times acceleration. Due to this, he spent his offseason speeding up his reaction time, and going to Chipotle several times a day. Despite a bout of norovirus, Ryan continued to push through.

Ryan knew a Viking beard would scare the hell out of opposing offensive lineman and demonstrate to his loving wife that he was a potent specimen with above average levels of seminal fluid. He worked with the most fashionable man on the planet, Supercuts CEO Steve Price, to don a beard that would give the impression of disgusting, yet unkempt. Knowing his weak spot was his tackling ability, a key skill for defensive tackles along with strength, he sharpened his skill by tackling the employees in his local Chipotle that gave him noro. This brought him a solid night behind bars, something that sealed his bad boy image for good.

The hard work this offseason paid off, as Ryan was drafted in the... 4th round by the Yellowknife Wraiths.

It's pretty well known that Franklin Harris Sr. was sentenced to life in prison this off-season, so what did his son do to deal with this? Well put his nose to the grindstone, hit the gym, worked on his tech... Oh wait, sorry nope that's the wrong son, actually, that might be the entirely wrong family.

What Junior really did is follow in his father's footsteps and sin 'till the sun went down. He spent his days at various New Orleans bar's and drank so much he lost track of anything and everything. However, once he was drafted 9th overall by the Outlaws, things had to change.

That's right; he upgraded to coke and saloons. FHJ always loved a good themed establishment, so finding out that the Outlaws inspired many saloons in Arizona was a reason to get excited. After waking up in a golden thong laying atop a case of Watermelons on the side of the road with 3 different women (who were obviously off the nearest corner), he knew it was time to get back into game-mentality.

So Yada-Yada he worked out and did the whole football prep thing. Thankfully, his dea- er- his nutritionist hooked him up with some special juice that has him ready for game day.

This past off-season, TE Joseph Askins spent a lot of time preparing for the NSFL draft so that he could show off his skillset for all of the teams. Coming off a quiet four years at ASU, he was going to have to impress the teams in the NSFL to be drafted. After intense workout sessions throughout the summer to bolster his run blocking technique, he felt prepared for the draft. Once drafted by the Yellowknife Wraiths, he was instructed to start improving his hands but he wasn't sure why the team wanted this to happen, as he thought he had been drafted primarily to be a blocking tight end for the Wraiths. As the offseason progressed, Askins took a trip to Iceland with some team mates. While in Iceland, he took part in a competition that he performed well in. By the end of it, his teammate Maddox had decided to switch positions which freed up a spot for Askins to be the starting tight end! Everything made more sense to Askins now as he understood why he had been improving his receiving abilities this offseason. Now that the season is going to start soon, Askins is hungry to have a great rookie year!

Offseason has seemingly gotten easier for Flock and the Outlaws. The workouts became routine, and they began to ask for more at the end of every day. Standouts on both sides of the ball were in the gym for what seemed like days. The Outlaws went so far as to adding benches and a projector to the weight room so the guys could study film while we lifted.

Heads were rolling when Tim Pest couldn't find enough weights, so he began dead lifting the actual benches while the defense was studying film. Of course Bronko and Evans had a hand in telling him he "wouldn't do it," knowing damn well he could. After that, it had to become a competition. Players lifting other players, whether it be benches, squats, or curls. Tim Pest clearly had the bar set highest, as nobody could recreate his epic feat.

Once film was done, the guys changed over the projector to hand out ass-whoopings on the new Madden 18. Its not clear who is the best right now, as everybody has lost a few games, but its clear that the partying has gotten to Apache, and Bronko still doesn't know what to do with his hands.

(S3) - Weekend PT #1 - Off-Season - Oles - 09-10-2017

Written: Must be at least 200 words, What did your player do this off season to prepare for the upcoming NSFL or DSFL season?

Oles is a simple man, he has only a few goals for his time in the NSFL, and he is always working towards achieving those goals. One such goal was to be defensive rookie of the year, and while he had trouble adjusting to the NSFL early on, he catapulted himself into the award with a great second half, and has made himself into a rising CB in the NSFL. So, what does he do to get better? He takes a step back, he talks to family and friends, he asks how they feel about the current situation. Obviously, they’ll be a bit biased and tell him that he is already the best CB in the game, that the only DB who rivals him are safeties. None of this is true, Oles knows this, he sees where his weakness is, and what needs improvement. He worked towards getting stronger, faster, working on defending the pass better (yes, he had 6 interceptions, but with only 12 PDs throughout the year he is quite a few behind standout Canton). After a period of reflection on the season, it’s time to go towards the next goal, which the reigning winner just so happens to play alongside Oles, and won the award for best DB this past season.

(S3) - Weekend PT #1 - Off-Season - 37thchamber - 09-10-2017

"Change is good." That's the mantra Antoine Delacour has repeated to himself over and over since Coach Hugo first convinced him to switch to defensive back in high school. It's what has driven his progress from wiry kid to one of the best defensive backs in the NSFL. This off-season is no different. Change is coming.

The Hawks franchise as a whole is about to make some changes. A break with the past, of sorts. Long hours spent in the front office with senior members of the team and the Hawks staff are about to pay off. Gone are the controversial Hawks who were surprisingly good last year. These Hawks are not the same. These Hawks expect to win, and expect to continue their perfect home record.

The new direction for the franchise has served as a catalyst for personal development, and we are about to witness Antoine Delacour 2.0, a key component in the new-look Baltimore Hawks. Delacour has spent additional time in training, and put in even more hours in the tape room. After realising that the best corners in the league are comfortable going on-on-one with the best receivers, the kid from Lafayette identified a shortcoming in his own game and has taken steps to address it. Flying Thunder will be looking to strike harder and faster than ever before.

Change is good.
