What name is the most unique out of the hundred of other members in the National Simulation Football League? What name inspires fear into the hearts of cornerbacks all across the league? What name makes husbands hide their children and wives, all across the Americas. What name is so sweet it doesn't even need a first name? You guessed it: Stormblessed. A name so badass I've seriously considered naming my firstborn son Storm. The name is just incredibly intimidating. It sounds like a superhero. You know someone with the name Stormblessed is going to rise above others, and you know what, it does. His speed is crazy enough to burn every single defensive back in the league. His name reminds me of Zeus, The incredibly powerful king of the gods in the Greek culture. Stormblessed can probably control lightning with a name like that. He's probably a demigod of some sorts, born to Zeus and some prostitute. Overall, Stormblessed definitely has the coolest name in the entire league, edging out stars like Pat Pancake, Lightskin Thor, and game of thrones reference Gregor Clegane. The only downside is the fact that his parents actually gave him the first name None rather than just not givingg him one.

There are several names around here that are worth mentioning. We have our food guys Brokk Lee and Pay Pancake. The guys face is literally a pancake, like what the fuck? There are a few quarterbacks worth recognizing. We have Ethan Hunt, the Mission Impossible guy, King Bronko which is just kind of fitting, Scrub Kyubee, who I didn’t realize was pronounced that way until I heard someone talk about him on a podcast, and Mike Boss which suits his play style well. None Stormblessed is fun. Instead of just leaving the first name field blank, he typed in “None” and here we are talking about it. We have the kickers, Archibald Booter, who can kick the ball a mile, Iyah Blewitt, which is hopefully more ironic than prophetic, and Turk Turkleton. Who doesn’t love a little repetitive alliteration? The best I suppose would probably have to be Cesar Millan. I recognized the name immediately but didn’t actually consider someone would actually role play as the Cesar Millan. Then one day I come across his profile and there is the dog whisperer right in his profile pic. Someone decided the best character to create for a sim football league is a 60 man who pretends to talk to pets.

The name that gets to me the most is without a doubt, Archetype Schmarchetype.

first of all, it is a pretty funny dad joke, which is fitting considering the user who made this name is father to two players on this sim league. In fact, I can imagine the conversation that put this name into existance. "Dad, come play this game we're playing". "Ok, what do i do". "You gotta make a football player". "Oh ok, what should I name him". "Dad, you gotta pick an archetype first". "Oh, Archetype Schmarchetype.....wait, thats it!". And then he probably laughed about how clever he was after that.

But then I have some fundamental problems with it. First of all, I am the GM that drafted this guy. Do you know how tiring it gets referring to his players name? Oh man, it sucks so much.

On top of that, his name just gets to me pronounciation wise. Like, its just not right. I'm assuming it should be said like shmar-kuh-taip, but a sh sound makes it easy. wouldn't a sch make a scuh sound, thus making this name scuh-mar-kuh-tiep? And i know it should just be the same pronounciation as archetype but with shm in front of it, but with that m in front i can never stop me from pronouncing it like March. it just bothers me.

What's up with this boy named Jazzy J? Has he been lit up so much that he's dropped letters off his last name. Chicago Blues picked up Jazzy J in the recent DSFL draft, and they're hoping that Mr. J comes out big for them, but I really, and I mean reallly, doubt that there will be many J jerseys sold out of Chicago. It's one letter, I mean come on. I'm ready to see the boys run right pass him and rough up his quarterback already based on his name alone. We'll see with Mr. J is made out of, but I can't imagine it's much. A person with that last name is off a few clicks, or either they're trying to conceal something. Maybe J isn't his real name, and there's more to this story. Give his mom props for alliteration, but this is just a silly name, and I'm sure it's going to annoy several guys around the league. Unless Jazzy J improves a lot from his combine performance, he's going to be as much of a joke as his name. Parents didn't bless him with this name, they're to blame, I guess. Good luck Jazzy J.

One name I’m surprised doesn’t have its own post yet is Hawks LB Erasmo Broadway. As a gay man, loving musical theater is one stereotype I haven’t been able to buck, so any name that gets me thinking about The Music Man or Avenue Q is one I like. But it’s also just clever in the same way Deion ‘Prime Time’ Sanders’s nickname is clever. The idea behind the name is that when Erasmo gets on the field, his play is so impressive, that it’s like he’s putting on a show, a performance. Like Broadway! I love it. And as anyone who’s watched a Hawks game can tell you, he’s one of the biggest stars of the show.

I’ve never heard of the name Erasmo before this post, so I looked it up and found it was a somewhat common first name in Mexico and Central America. So no special meaning behind that, but it is a pretty cool name. Plus, it gives the name a dun-dundun duun duun rhythm that’s quite pleasing to the ears.

Anyways, I think @evryday nailed naming his player, and while there’s no shortage of clever names in this league, Erasmo’s is one that always stuck out to me.
