The first memorable moment of my short career was when I accepted my scholarship to USC. It was a dream I had worked towards for several years. Just being on campus was a huge accomplishment. The real excitement came within the locker room and storming the field that very first time. I have never seen so many fans in the stands before that point. I still remember the noise and it is a night that will stay with me for a long time.

The next memorable moment for me would be when I scored my first NSFL touchdown. I was playing for the Orange County Otters and it was my first game after being claimed on waivers. I had not been on the field for much of the game and the offense had already driven down the field into the red zone. The next play was called and I was subbed in. I caught a short pass from Mike Boss and was able to run the ball 16 yards into the end zone. It wasn’t that long ago but I still have that game ball and It is a memory that will always be with me.

The last memorable moment for me was being drafted by the Baltimore Hawks. It was an honor and I knew right away I was poised for a great season and what should be a great NSFL career.

The Lions Leap
In Vash’s junior year, he had the most memorable moment of arguably, the most important non-bowl game of The Buckeye’s Season; “The Game” against rival University of Michigan’s Wolverines. As the clock winds down to its final moments, with the game on the line, The Buckeyes are leading The Wolverines 40-35, with no time outs left. The Wolverines are at the 2 yard line, ready to hand the ball off Randall Ungstead, star running back, who managed 4 of Michigan’s 5 touchdowns that day. Vash Erikson scans the offense, reading the field of exhausted players, he hones in on Michigan’s center, Buck Hankerson’s heavy breathing, as his body fills and contracts with each breathe, Vash reads his movement. Like a lion stalking its prey, Vash carefully moves closer to the line, reading the weak chain, as Vash watches Buck take his final deep breath, Vash begins his assault, pouncing in the air, as the ball is being snapped. Vash clears the offensive line and pounces on Michigan’s quarterback, as the ball grasps his hands. Like the predatory roll of a lion striking that poor gazelle, that never stood a chance, neither did Michigan’s Lance Canter. “SACK, SACK, ERIKSON, MY GOD! OHIO STATE WINS” exclaims the television announcer, “Can you believe that Bill? *chuckles* I have to say that is by far one of the most spectacular acts of athleticism I’ve been witness to!”
Education First
While Vash may have been a superstar on the football field, he was also a superstar in the class room. Managing to make the deans honor roll at Ohio state, he continues his education after entering the pros, his thirst for knowledge has ceased to end. He continues to further his education and finish his Doctoral Degree in Kinesiology.

Second Preseason Game: Yetis v. Liberty
Vash was eager to impress the league, showing that he was a force to be reckoned with and an up and coming superstar. Vash managed 4 pass deflections and 2 interceptions in this outing. Giving the league a taste of what is to come.

One of the biggest memories of my college career was the bowl game in my last season. I knew that it would be a bittersweet moment and we weren't playing for a national championship or anything, so I decided to make the most of the week with my teammates. We definitely partied a ton that week but we still came out ready to play on game day. We ran all over them, our line was pushing them around all game. It was definitely a great send-off for me and the other guys that wouldn't be around the following season.

My first great memory in the NSFL of course was draft night. I had no idea when I was going to get drafted so when I got the call from the Liberty saying I was going to be the last pick of the first round it was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. It was definitely a huge weight off my mind to know where I would end up. I couldn't ask for a better group of teammates and I'm glad Philadelphia was where I could start my career.

A final great memory of mine was the first time I played against MVP Jayce Tuck and the Arizona Outlaws. It was one of my first real regular season NSFL games and I knew it would be a challenge. It was definitely the toughest defensive front I had ever played against and even though I got beat a couple times and we lost I was still happy with my performance. It was at that point that I knew if I put in the work I had what it took to be a standout player in the league. I definitely learned a lot from that game and it helped propel me to be as good as I am today. Sure enough last season despite a rough start I was a pro bowl selection for the NSFC.

A couple other memories that come to mind were playing in the pro bowl game and of course playing in the JBear Memorial Game. I'm hoping that we can have some more fun events like those in the future.

#1

Francois Lamoreux remembered sitting at home, feasting on lunch meat and extra sharp cheddar cheese, thinking about what could have been. Without his knowledge, his agent who was supposed to bring him NFL glory had signed him up for the NSFL, a league that Lamoreux had never even heard of. After a workout, several teams clamored to sign him off of waivers with the honor going to the Las Vegas Legion. It felt good to be on a team even if just for a few short weeks. Lamoreux put in the Legion uniform with pride and took his position on the offensive line.

#2

After a stunning upset against the Yeti to knock them out of playoff contention, Lamoreux prepared to stand for the Season 3 Draft. He had been scouted by no fewer than five teams, but strongly preferred to play for his favorite team, the Yellowknife Wraiths. To the Outlaws great surprise, Lamoreux told them in no uncertain terms that they were not his preferred team, when the back-to-back champions were accustomed to prospects crawling over each other to ask to be drafted to an already established dominant team. Lamoreux was deeply honored to have been drafted first in the second round, as the ninth overall pick of the Season 3 Draft.

#3

Following a humiliating loss against the Baltimore Hawks in Week 1, Lamoreux and the Wraiths rededicated themselves to training in preparation to face them again in Week 7. In the hotly anticipated rematch, Lamoreux had 4 pancakes and only 1 sack allowed en route to a glorious 20-12 Yellowknife victory. Defeating the consensus #2 ranked team reinvigorated both Lamoreux and the Wraiths locker room, giving them high hopes for the remainder of the season.

ASIPI HELPS PULL OFF BIGGEST UPSET

Arbin Asipi DT for UCONN was able to help them win a national championship against Alabama. It was the 4th quarter with 12 seconds left. Alabama was on UCONNs 1 and on first down and 1 timeout left, down 4. It seemed like Alabama was ready to win another ring. But then, a miracle happened, they did play action, and right before the QB was going to throw, BAM. Hit by Arbin Asipi, the QB would fumble, and UCONN would pull off the biggest upset ever.

OUTLAWS DRAFT ASIPI

Arbin Asipi remembered draft day like the back of his hand. He was sitting at home with friends and family, and it was nerve wracking waiting for his name to be called. But then he heard the beautiful words. "The Arizona Outlaws draft Arbin Asipi DT out of UCONN." It would change his career forever, for the better.

OUTLAWS WIN BACK TO BACK

When the outlaws won the ultimus games back to back it seemed like a dream to Asipi. Never in his life did he imagine playing in the NSFL, on the best team in the league, and winning two ultimus games back to back. He had to pinch himself, again, just to be positive he wasn't dreaming. And yet here he is, going for a three peat.

Juan Andres, Hawks

-

I was a nervous wreck before my first professional game. Hawks vs Wraiths… My entire high school and collegiate career all came down to this.. Was I going to stink? Were the Hawks Coach + GM going to be pissed they took a shot on a young rookie?

Then it happened… First game, I somehow managed to get 5 pancakes. Not 1… Not 2…. But 5 times I made a Wraiths defensive tackle go nighty night. It was such a rush, I felt like I was on top of the world…. My girlfriend even made me pumpkin pancakes the next morning (my favorite). What a high.

Then game 2 happened… Against the legion. I allowed my first sack as a professional football player. This was heart breaking – It’s hard to describe the level of pain you feel as a guard when you know a block you should’ve made ends up with your team captain on the ground. It could have been worse (our qb takes an injury)… But that was a memorable moment because of how crushing it felt. I was a rookie.. and I was humbled.. No one is perfect. So I hit the training room hard that next week.

Now my final memorable moment is the latest power ranking report…. It turns out I’m currently ranked as the 27th best o-linemen in the league. Hot dang, is that not a great feeling for a rookie! Time to hit the training room.

When one goes back and thinks on the career of Allen Davis there are three distinct moments that stand out in the young player's career. First we go back to high school where Davis played for the Surprise Supersonics the #3 rated high school team at the time and he played both sides of the field Safety and Wide receiver. It was tied in the third quarter of the high school state semi finals and Davis had just taken a little screen pass all the way to the house for a touchdown and the lead when he came back out on the field for defense. The offense looked good as they drove in to enemy territory until the QB stared down his receiver over the middle as Davis jumped in front of the pass and ran the ball all the way back for a touchdown. Two consecutive touchdowns from Davis crushed the momentum of their opponent and they would go on to win. The second defining moment would come in his days at U of A. Davis and the Wildcats were playing the Ducks in Eugene and Davis came up with a huge sack/fumble on a safety blitz that resulted in the offense getting the ball back and taking the lead late in the 4th to give them the win. Lastly, one of his finest moments on the field came in the NSFL ultimus game. Even though the game was looking bad for the Sabrecats Davis sealed the game by blocking a Sabrecat punt and giving the Outlaws the ball back in Sabrecat territory to extend their lead.

(S3) - PT #3 - Flashback - Bayley - 09-29-2017

Benson Bayley has had a short time in the NSFL, but there are moments that absolutely stick out. The first one is putting on the Sabercats hat at draft night as he got taken in the Season 3 Draft. That is something he will absolutely remember forever. Getting the hat from Ckroyal and putting it on his head for the first time. That was a crazy feeling. Similarly to that, putting on the Sabercats #21 was an incredible feeling and something he will remember forever. Another moment is the first INT of the season. He took that ball and will have that ball put up in his showcase of things to remember. Next to all of his pictures of Ty Law, this ball will be sitting there. I would say that those three moments are things that will stick with Bayley forever. He cannot wait to add moments to his list. But, what will be next? Will it be the Rookie of the Year? Will it be an Ultimas Trophy? What exactly is next to come for Bayley. There is a lot of interest and hype around this guy, finding out where he fits is what everyone is waiting for. This was very memorable with only more to come.

Memorable moments from my career…well, of course there was being drafted #7 overall by the Philadelphia Liberty…going that early was an honor, and a privilege. It was great to get that jersey in my hand and know that a franchise was willing to bet on me as their future ticket to glory. Of all rookie picks Liberty has ever made, I will go down in history as having been the first. So far, I don’t hear any regrets from management or the fans.

Though less of a moment and more of a series of moments, having the longest yards per catch of not just rookies but all receivers in season 2 was a great feeling. Touchdowns come and go, but how many yards you can create for your team is where your value lies, at least in my opinion. Does it really matter who punches it in as long as you helped get us there? That was even with being hobbled with a “former QB” designation – imagine what I’ll be able to do when people consider me a receiver.

Finally, of course, was catching that baby thrown from an apartment building. If you ever needed to make a catch, that was the time, and I don’t know what could beat it in terms of importance. Catching the Ultimus Cup-winning touchdown would be a start.
