Stop.
This isn't about the DSFL. This is about offensive line. @JuOSu does make an important argument that we need to be careful about watering down availability of starting roles in the league. But a quick glance at rosters shows me that we would be moving maybe 10 people total (barely any active OL) into new roles. Most teams that aren't in Arizona are starting 2 or 3 inactives already and can absorb these new players without any trouble.

I think the best way to go about this is to raise the current template o line men to a new base level and then give the GMs free reign over let's say 300 TPE to customize them how they wish. It should not be just 4 different lineman that you can choose from nor should a gm be stuck with a build they don't like.
I also don't see a need for in season updates of linemen, just have them at a high level already.

Just some random thoughts:
I don't think we are going to be eliminating the position. There are at least a few players that are currently OL and they are happy playing this position. We definitely don't want to take that away that option from them. Ideally, whatever solution we come up with allows those players to play OL and be happy about it, as well as allow new players to play that position if they so wanted to do that.
However, we definitely see an issue with the shortage of OL and the need for active ones.
Because of these above two things. I think this seems like a good solution.
1) Make better bots. Ones that scale based upon the TPE of your active Oline.
I think the criteria needs to be
1.) Actives will always be preferred bots/inactives.
2.) Current OL don't have to swap if they don't want to
3.) Having 0 active linemen isn't a complete death sentence.

I would rather eliminate O Line completely than have a situation where we are among a bunch of bots, unless those bots are tied to TPE of current linemen. I don't want a situation where O linemen can switch, but feel pressured to stay to benefit the team.

And I have yet to see one Lineman say they would be upset. Every one has supported this, even a guy like Pest says he enjoys playing the position but would gladly switch.
