(S4) - PT #4 - Free Agent Review - TheWoZy - 11-19-2017 During the S4 offseason, we all expected the Yeti won't sign any player. It was boring offseason for the team. They had the money to sign any player but they were always listed last in most of the UFA team ranking. Thus, the only move the Colorado Yeti were able to do is resigning their UFA. Alex Hayden, one of the best CB in the league, received an offer from the Wraiths. The Yeti had no choice and used their RFA tag on Alex Hayden and matched the offer Yellowknife Wraiths offer. Alex Hayden is happy to play for the Yeti. He's the best defensive player in the Colorado Yeti team this season. He has so 10 passes defended and 3 passes intercepted. It's still unclear if he wants to move somewhere or if he wants to stay in Denver. He has a great stats so far this season but I feel he could be overshadowed by other top corner back in this league because of the poor results of the Yeti. If the Yeti would move Alex Hayden, they would receive a lot of asset which would help a lot with their rebuild. He also has a player option in his contract so he will find out soon. (S4) - PT #4 - Free Agent Review - Aenir - 11-19-2017 Chris Orosz had just signed with Yellowknife for another 2 years when news came down the wire... "Chris Orosz Has been traded to San Jose" It was a shock, he had not wanted to leave Yellowknife... he just got his seat on the team bus the way he liked it! Sure there were some advantages, he would be playing with his brother, and his cousin (uncle) got traded as well. Overall it has seemed to work out for both sides, The Wraiths knocking off the Outlaws and pulling themselves to 2nd place in the NSFC, while the Sabercats have stormed to a 6-2 record. Also good for 2nd place in their conference, behind only on h2h record. The stats aren't quite there for either team, but they are efficient enough so they can maximize their opportunities as a team. Chris has had a great run of late however and hopes to get his numbers up to where he was at in Yellowknife and reclaim his status as the NSFL's number 1B quarterback! Cash wise it hasn't been too much, at 2 Million a year. This has San Jose team officials ecstatic as to what they can hope to add with all of the extra cap space! (206) (S4) - PT #4 - Free Agent Review - Apache_Chief - 11-19-2017 In the off-season, a lot of changes occurred across the board, but I think the most polarizing was the leagues best wide out joining the leagues best team. Josh Garden leaving to join the Outlaws was like KD joining the Warriors, or if Julio Jones upped and decided to join the Pats for a ring. This was a move that frankly, should be a lock for a fourth ring for the Outlaws. And so far, this particular move has played out just as expected. Garden is doing what he does best and that's being the best. He's added a dynamic to the Outlaws offense that makes them a threat at any moment. That being said, this move also means the Outlaws give up a lot more be it due to the contract or just the fact that their poised to get their fourth ring. Players who saw themselves enter their first free agent period decided they wanted more of a challenge and left. Carter especially, while being with the organization a year, left the CB1 position in the hands of Harris Jr. who has not had the same impact he did with less responsibility last season. So the fact is, while they gained a great Fred Agent in Garden, they lost in other places and may have created a cycle of too much winning. (S4) - PT #4 - Free Agent Review - ADwyer87 - 11-19-2017 after four games with the Arizona Outlaws, its safe to say that Josh Garden fits this team like a glove. He has dominated and has clearly been the best receiver through 4 games. Garden has benefited from the Baylor connection he shared with King Bronko and it is showing on the field. Bronko may not have been a QB in college, but he was the next best thing, a wide reciever. Bronko and Garden have been close, and Bronko was a big reason Garden came here this offseason. So needless to say that connection is a big deal. Did the team pay Garden too much? Not at all! Garden signed the largest contract in NSFL history this offseason, but its clearly paying dividends, as it has made this offense into a league powerhouse. That evolution alone is pretty huge, and worth the big contract. But on top of that, with all of Arizona's cap space, it was an easy decision to make for them. In short, Outlaws signing Josh Garden was the greatest FA signing this season and the rest of the league has no chance. They might as well all rebuild and trade their best players to Arizona for picks. (S4) - PT #4 - Free Agent Review - Oles - 11-19-2017 Written: Must include 200 words. Many players changed teams around the league this off season. After 4 weeks of play, choose a player and/or team and write about their decisions in free agency. Did they pick the wrong team? Did they pay somebody too much? Is somebody a perfect fit? We all saw the curious case of Jaylon Lee in the offseason. Disgruntled, unhappy with the reigning Ultimus champions, it looked like he was primed for an escape from the team. He seemed to finally get his choice and leave the place he was not happy in. That’s when the trouble started. First, he was tagged with the restricted free agent mark, basically meaning even if he did decide to leave, Arizona could easily keep him on the team. Naturally he was a huge part of their defense, and would be a massive acquisition for any team, and a big blow to the Outlaws if he was allowed to walk without any compensation. He decided to leave, specifically he had chosen to go to the Liberty, a rising team that seemed to be ready to make a push for the top NSFC spot. But Arizona would have the last laugh. First, even though it seemed like they weren’t going to match, they did. To add insult to this they had already made a trade before they ever matched, and never gave the Liberty a shot at getting him, as they were asking too much for the star LB. This lead to him in San Jose, where he is playing out a 1 year deal, and will hopefully choose his next spot. (221 words) |
