(S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Zoone16 - 04-14-2018 What if the moves that the Las Vegas Legion did prior to the Season 2 expansion were right and they went on to build a solid team? Things are never set in stone from the get go but the teams had a lot of potential in their “win it all within 2 seasons” strategy, giving up a lot of draft picks for immediate talent. Had Bercovici gotten talent to defend him and be able to throw his passes before he got crushed by the opposing defensive line, maybe he’d still have a spot in the league today. He’d probably have been able to set up an interesting challenge to Mike Boss by Season 4, something that no quarterback has done yet. His receivers would’ve been able to aim for the 1400 and 1500 yds mark as well. Defensively, the free agent additions that came in Season 3 would’ve consolidated the secondary unit and helped contain opposition much more effectively than actually occurred. All this would’ve kept the morale up in the locker room and probably kept the team going instead of a mass retirement scandal. However, the world isn’t built on what-ifs. The reality is that the project failed and that the Legion ended up in New Orleans come Season 6. One will eventually shine, whereas the other will remain a monument to managerial failure. (225 words) (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - TrueTexican - 04-14-2018 One of the biggest what-ifs I think about these days is how I played in the NFC playoff game. Lately I've been thinkin' about it a lot since I've been spendin' some time down south with my parents in the off season. I do believe that if I didn't throw those 2 interceptions in the first quarter that we would have beaten the Kansas City Coyotes. We knew goin' into the game that stoppin' their offense would be a dog fight, but we certainly didn't expect their defense to step up against us. Gettin' those 2 interceptions led the Coyotes to 2 touchdowns and I think that set the tone for the game. We got into our heads and I couldn't snap out of it after that first quarter. I finished with a 52.2 passer rating and I think it would have been at least 70 without those 2 interceptions. If we beat the Coyotes, I think we would have gotten our revenge season since the Pythons have never lost to the Marshals in the regular season since the second season of the DSFL. It's down right amazing to think that one game and 2 interceptions changed the course of DSFL history. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - keanex - 04-14-2018 I think that this draft has been quite interesting, and one that we'll likely see have rippling waves of effects for seasons to come and it's all because of the Otters and Yeti. Yeti went into the draft with the most first round picks, and a clear number one pick in Howard Miller and much speculation of picking up Ryan Applehort. Well what happens if the Otters take Mark Grau? What happens if Liberty doesn't trade their first to Yeti? How does that change the rest of the draft? Let's start with the Otters taking Mark Grau at number three. That shakes up a lot of future picks since Catcherman and Hans are now in play. Do the Yeti "reach" for either of them in the first? You have to imagine that they'd consider either one of them at pick 4 or pick 5 since they have back to back picks and wanted to reinforce their WR corp, but Fyodorovich is now there. Does Desta Danger get picked up by the Yeti? Do the Yeti consider double CB? WR/CB? WR/LB? It's a tough call because the Yeti had a lot of holes to fill. You have to believe that the Yeti passed four and five on Applehort because they had a trade planned. With a need at QB it would be crazy to consider them going anything but QB+?? Otherwise. I think that if Grau is taken in the third by the Otters then Fyodorovich and Lefevre are taken four and five with Applehort the sixth. It's an interesting thought to consider how the draft would have changed. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - DeathOnReddit - 04-14-2018 There is a lot of IFs I can talk about involving the league, hell I can think of 5 right now involving me or the Outlaws. But the one I'll talk about is what if I was active and joined the league 10 days earlier. If you didnt know I joined the league on May 25th 2017. (yea ive been here a lot longer than 90% of you active right now.) I wasnt very active, and continued to be inactive/semi-active until I created Jr. A player who Im proud to be very active with. Now if Im active and joined the league from May 15th I wouldnt be drafted 67th overall or whenever I was drafted. I would probably have been drafted in the top 5 rounds. Would I still be drafted to the Outlaws? Idk thats a question you gotta ask the OG gms of all the teams in the draft. But no matter what, even if I was drafted to the outlaws I would have taken the place of one of the other members. They would have drafted someone else in my place, and after that does Er still make multis? If he does, does he have to make another one at DL? The butterfly effect is huge, and the league as we know it could be different. Maybe the Otters draft me, and we win 7 in a row. (unlikely) you never know. Either way, I love @ADwyer87 and he is my sim league dad. <3 (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - run_CMC - 04-14-2018 Things could be very, very different for me (and Dean Jackson) with just a few small changes in time. First off, I joined the site on the 20th of October, 2017, but had seen advertisement posts on Reddit for the league several times before the one that convinced me to join. There were countless opportunities for me to decide to join the league sooner, and it's impossible to guess what would've happened if I was S4 (or even earlier?). And of course, on the 20th, not too long after I finished making an account, my internet had gone out. Let me tell ya, I am awful lazy sometimes. Who knows if I would've joined at all if I had begun registering just hours later, and my internet cutout during that. But, of course, I did join, as I'm here now and loving every minute; especially my new job as Arizona Outlaws co-GM. But imagine if Arizona hadn't taken one of the biggest gambles in draft history by taking a kicker of all positions in the first round. I most likely would've gone to the Yeti in the second round, and while I'm certain I'd still be active in the league, there's no chance I would be in the position I'm in now (Outlaws co-GM). I had originally planned to stay a DSFL GM a lot longer than I did, and only applied for a NSFL GM spot because it opened on the team I was a part of. There's a lot of other things that could've happened...... but I'll stop there because I'm well over the word limit. (268 words) (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Scootalicious - 04-15-2018 What if the Colorado Yeti drafted Mike Boss instead of the Orange County Otters? What if, for some reason, the Yeti and Otters traded and Yeti took Boss? Would Boss be able to take the Yeti to their first Ultimus? I believe so. We all know Mike Boss is a talented quarterback, but if he was put on a dying team like the Yeti, people would believe he wouldn’t be as talented as he is. Not me. I believe Mike Boss would be able to take a dying Yeti team and at least take them to one championship. Even in years where their wide receivers performed average or terribly, i believe Mike Boss would make them look like Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss. He could take the winless team the Yeti had last season and make them win around ten of them. If the Yeti had Boss, we would all be expecting the Yeti to win the Ultimus instead of the Otters this season. Who knows, maybe the Otters would go winless instead (very doubtful, but hey the National Simulation Football League, otherwise abbreviated as the NSFL, is a very weird league and just like the NFL anyone can rise or fall.) 202 words (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - ADwyer87 - 04-15-2018 (04-14-2018, 06:56 PM)DeathOnReddit Wrote:Either way, I love @ADwyer87 and he is my sim league dad. <3I'm proud of u, son |
