One of the biggest surprises this season was when the 0-8, winless San Jose Sabercats visited the 4-4 Philadelphia Liberty and beat them, 27-21. This game ended up being their only win of the season, as the Sabercats avoided the fate the Liberty suffered the year before and the Yeti did for two consecutive seasons.

So what led to this upset? Well, there were quite a few things that cost the Liberty this game. One of them was Marquise Brown @YoungTB not being able to effectively run the ball late in the game and drain out the clock. Two key drives for the Liberty, where they didn't exactly have to come out with a touchdown, but just had to pound out the clock, were in the third quarter. In both of these drives, they came up empty with three and outs. Marquise Brown started these drives off with 2 carries for a total of 2 yards, forcing the Liberty to play behind schedule and led to forced throws. Now obviously, the Liberty lack the firepower in the passing game, with a young wide receiver corps, and was able to take care of the job in 2nd and 3rd and long situations. Ultimately, these drives would've been key for the Liberty holding on to the win, but they ate off less than 2 minutes in total on these drives, and they were forced to rely on the arm of rookie Adriana Falconi.

One of the most surprising outcomes of the season this year came in Week 3 when the New Orleans Second Line traveled to Yellowknife to take on the Wraiths. Coming into the game, the Wraiths were 0-2 and the Second Line were 2-0. The Wraiths were entering a rebuild after losing several players to retirement and free agency after Season 10 while the Second Line were one of the league's top contenders and aiming to make their fourth consecutive championship appearance. The Second Line were heavily favored coming into the game. It started off as expected with the Second Line scoring three first quarter touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead into the second quarter. They extended their lead to 24-7, but the Wraiths answered back with a touchdown to cut the deficit to 24-14 before halftime. The Wraiths carried this momentum into the second half as they scored 10 unanswered points to tie the game at 24-24 entering the fourth quarter. The Wraiths took their first lead of the game with a touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter. However, the Second Line answered with a touchdown on the following drive to tie it back up 31-31. But the Wraiths struck back immediately by returning the following kickoff for a touchdown to take a 38-31 lead. The Second Line never got another drive going as their next drive ended in an interception and the drive after that ended in a turnover on downs that put the Wraiths in position to kick a field goal that would give them a 41-31 lead, which would be the game's final score. While this game didn't ultimate impact either team's season overall, it was still an interesting upset and a surprising outcome.

There are a lot of things about the Philadelphia Liberty season that are surprising. First off, it's not often you see a team go from winless to damn near making a playoff appearance the following season. But that's exactly what the Philadelphia Liberty did. With a young team, no less. Seeing the one-time Ultimus champions go from zero wins and fourteen losses to seven of each was a surprise, but perhaps most surprising was their most impressive win this season; a pretty convincing win over the reigning champion Baltimore Hawks, thirty points to fourteen. Two touchdowns from last year's rushing champion Marquise Brown, plus a short passing touchdown from Falconi to rookie wideout Jordan von Matt added to three Kulture Fulture field goals to eclipse the two Owen Taylor touchdowns that came in response. Hawks quarterback Ryan Applehort had a bit of a stinker, throwing two interceptions and no touchdowns in the visit to Taco Bell Stadium, while the fearsome tight end duo of L'Alto and Harp were limited to just fifty-eight yards on their nine catches. Rookie trio Cobalt, Becker and Garnett led the defensive output for the Liberty, combining for nineteen tackles (one for loss), a sack, and an interception to sink their fiercest rivals.

Written: Must include 200 words. As the season comes to a close there were some surprising outcomes during the season that shocked the league. Write about one such outcome.

One of the most suprising outcomes or least suprising outcomes depending on who you root for in the NSFL was the Yellowknife Wraiths pathetic 4-10 regular season record as the S11 season comes to an end. Yellowknife started with much promise and every single season since their inception way back in S1, they've been met with critics and naysayers predicting that this was the season they finally suck and hey it took eleven whole seasons and we've finally just had our first ever losing season. Yellowknife looked poor on the field in all aspects of the game from their poor production offensively through an anaemic receiving core featuring an incredibly old Bailey Cook playing out his final season, nothing more than a retirement tour to be honest. Pennington look mediocre at best at the QB role and posted decent numbers, nothing to write home about. Parker went up and above expectations and already established themself as a leader of the offense, alongside Carrassco and Summer who held down the RB role and split snaps, the former is apparently being thrown out in trade negotations as the Wraiths look for a more permanent option at QB, with Pennington not having the production desired and both QB's in the pipeline (Wozy and Metaxas) said to be perennial developers but never starters.

But really who knows how many more dissapointments we will see in the future of the Wraiths.
