(S14) PT 2 - Game day - MrStennett - 04-05-2019 The Scandinavians are known to be particularly superstitious people, and so it is with Thorian Skarsgard as well. He's had a routine starting in the morning of every game all the way back to his pre-college rugby days. When he first wakes up in the morning, he heads straight to the kitchen and gets two bowls of his favorite cereal: Lucky Charms. (He keeps four boxes of them in the house at all times.) Once he finishes his cereal, he grabs a shower and trims around his beard. Always gotta look good on game day, right? Next up, it's time for 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups, just to get a little bit of a burn going. At that point, it's time to head into the stadium and catch up with some of the guys before the pre-game meetings start. Right before meetings start, he heads to his locker and puts his gameday socks on. They're multiple years old, but he takes such good care of them that there are no holes or runs in them at all. With all that taken care of, it's time to head off to team and positional meetings and get gameday officially under way. Go Otters! Code: 201 words (S14) PT 2 - Game day - MaxGnarland - 04-05-2019 For home games Quentin Sinclair wakes up every at 7 am, drinks a large glass of water and goes for a light jog to wake himself up. At after a shower he eats his standard breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast with a cup of green tea. He drives to the Solar Bears facility in his 2010 gray Toyota Camry arriving between 9:30 and 9:45. Once at the facility he goes and does a very light weight lifting session and converses with his teammates before doing his own stretching routine while listening to his Spotify daily mixes. If the game is an afternoon game he watches film for about an hour just to freshen up on his opponents before the game. If the game is an evening game he will eat lunch in the team's cafeteria while watching YouTube videos and then takes a quick, 45 minute nap before going through a more intense film session. For away games Sinclair wakes up at 7 am and heads down to the hotel lobby for breakfast, eating whatever is being served there and then heads for the shower before leaving for the stadium. On the way to the stadium he listens to his Spotify daily mixes and plays Hearthstone on his phone. When he has reached the stadium he be-lines it to the gift shop where he buys a new fridge magnet for his collection. After finding a suitable magnet he returns to the team to take part in the team activities. Typically he starts game day with a big breakfast, to carb up and be ready to go. His favourite breakfast is a big bowl of Spaghett Bolognese with a diet pepsi to wash it down. He always gets tries to get to the stadium before his teammates, but he normally stops for some smoked meats on his way in and ends up being the last through the door. He then listens to his favourite song Con Te Partirò by Andrea Bocelli on repeat leading up to the pregame meetings. He lights his candles in honour of his missing father and then blows them out for his missing father's birthday because he doesn't know what his birthday was so it's better to be safe then sorry. He gets dressed, ready and heads out onto the field. Before his stretches he always scans the fans to see if his missing dad is out there, but he never is. He then always runs up to his linebacker buddies Hardshaft and Nikko and asks them if they have seen his dad. But they never have. Although his dad is probably dead, he will always think about him up until kickoff. As soon as kickoff happens, there are only two things on Gabagools mind, penetration gaps and smashing backs. The quarterback position is best played while at ease. While her girlfriend Dottie is more fiery, Rose ices her mind with low-fi music. Something that has a steady bass, but isn't thumping. Usually it's something like The XX, Radiohead, or even some Gorillaz. She also takes an interest in acoustic music as well. In fact, she's inspired a theme night where she chose the pre-game playlist, which featured a lot of acoustic and calming music instead of the usual rock or hip hop (though there was a bit of hip hop mixed in). Rosie usually stays in the locker room much longer than everyone else on the team in order to be a bit more focused. While not exactly stage fright, she tries not to think of the crowd. She prefers night games so that the lights drown out the fans in her vision and allow her to only think about what's in front of her on the field. Finally, in the spirit of how her mother plays her game, she takes a quick moment to pray before going out on the field as well. Not as flashy as Tebow, as she does it as she's sitting on the bench during the kickoff. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - youngcricket - 04-06-2019 My gameday routine is as follows, I wake up and I stare at myself in the mirror. I tell myself what nobody else has told me my whole life. You can do this. That you are capable and you are worthy of accomplishing what you want. That defying the odds is not crazy for you, its the norm. After this short and inspirtational pep talk, I make myself 3 eggs and 6 eggos, to ensure a healthy diet. I continue to run on the treadmill for 25 minutes to ensure that my cardiovascular skills are up to par and that I am ready to be the best linebacker in the NSFL. At about 11 am, I watch highlights of the great Jaylon Lee. I like to watch him absolutely dominate the Orange County Otters back int heir rivalry game and love his pick six in the first Ultimus that the league ever had. After that I head to the stadium and get stretched out by my favorite trainer, fat steve. Once I am stretched out, I go out onto the field and just run as much as I can and try to get team morale up. Once I get the morale up, I take 15 minutes to pray over the game and the people involved in it. Pretty simple game. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - shadyshoelace - 04-06-2019 Nero Alexander starts his gameday by getting out of bed. After he gets out of bed, he takes a shower to make sure he is clean before he gets really sweaty by repeatedly running into other sweaty men. Since Nero is a well-educated man of culture, he follows this up by doing some light reading of Ulysses by James Joyce while eating a hearty breakfast of spaghetti and chicken – gotta get those carbs and protein. Once he’s sufficiently carboloaded, he heads to the stadium. Since he’s now in Texas, he’s traded in his fuel-efficient Prius for a lifted F-150 with mudflaps and TruckNutz. He knows it’s bad for the environment, but with all the hits to the head he’s accruing he figures he won’t be around to see the consequences anyway. When he gets to the stadium, he puts his headphones in and listens to Remember the Name by Fort Minor on repeat. This song pumps him up, but it also reminds him that his success is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will, five percent pleasure, and fifty percent pain – the more pain he feels, the less skill he needs. He hopes that people will remember his name, but deep down he knows that he is just an insignificant speck in the infinite time and space of our universe. Finally, just before kickoff, Nero gets himself ready to sack the quarterback by getting in a couple of good blindside hits on his teammate Cooter Bigsby as he is throwing warmup passes. He credits this part of the routine for his high number of sacks throughout the season and hopes that it isn’t the reason Cooter keeps throwing interceptions. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - CalvinP - 04-06-2019 Primetime game for Logan Uchiha: -Logan is up a 4:00 am. -Shower, 5 mile jog, bowl of fruit and start watching previous game film to note slight improvements he can make on the field. -This is done until 6:30 am. At this point the actual day starts. -At the facility he heads straight to the gym. Snacking on a piece of flavorless boiled chicken, he Usually lifts for 2-3 hours. High reps, low weight "be great, be great, be great" on repeat in his head. -Drills. Logan's specific drills. A unique set of drills where he practices with each position on his team. From quarterback to defensive lineman, the goal is to learn technique and more importantly the way every position thinks. Coach thinks Logan is doing too much but he's ok with it as long as Logan does what he needs to do. - 12:30. Lunchtime. All greens and fruit. Nothing heavy. Considering next is film study we don't want meat on our stomach. - 1pm. Film. Most important time of the day. You can be the strongest or the fastest but you're nothing if you can't improve and take advantage of your opponents' weakness. Every team has one, how can a Safety take advantage of it? 2 hours. -3pm team meeting. We know our expectations, coach always has faith in us. Everyone speaks, positive attitudes and confidence all around the room. If we're away, we head to team bus; if we're home, we get free reign until 6. Must be there 2 hours early. No exceptions. -430pm Team meeting over free time. Regardless home or away it's film time for at least one more hour. On the bus or in the facility. -530pm Chicken breast, fruit smoothie. Most important thing of the day, phone call to his younger brother. No discussion about football just brotherly joking, etc. -8pm Last team meeting before the game. We all do what we need to pump ourselves up. Logan usually personally talks to every teammate prior to walking out. -Hit the music. 8:30pm Game time ------------------- 345 words (S14) PT 2 - Game day - Vedin - 04-06-2019 Jacob Rowan started by walking to his bathroom mirror and just looked at himself and tried to calm himself down. "You got this man, you got this!" He mumbled to himself before going straight to the kitchen. There he made himself some bacon and eggs and poured a glass of milk. Jacob is guilty of eating alot when he's nervous so after the bacon and eggs he grabbed a bag of chips and a bottle of pepsi. He sat down in his sofa and put on some The Office, mowing down chips and chugging cola made him relieved. Jacob as many others have felt after eating so much junk, disgusting and unhealthy. So he went into his garage where he has his own little gym. After hours in his garage lifting weights he looked at his phone " Shit i'm late!". |
