(S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - DollarAndADream - 07-01-2017 Baltimore has seen better days this season. While they were undefeated in the pre-season, during the regular season they have been inconsistent as ever, and Scrub Kyubee, despite his skillset, has been failing to find his receivers. This leads me to my proposal. Scrub Kyubee will be dealt to the 1st place Arizona Outlaws for Vincent Draxel, in a switch up of quarterbacks. Draxel has been playing on the league's #1 roster as their starting QB, and they have been successful despite his numbers. He has the league's worst passing percentage, and his completion numbers aren't in the top 3 either. This is where Scrub Kyubee comes in. Scrub has one of the highest percentages in the NSFL with 58.9%, and 218 completions, which is 3rd overall, and close to 1st. Arizona would bolster their offense by adding Kyubee, although it would probably come at a price. Scrub has dismissed these rumors, saying Baltimore over everything, but it's a deal to think about. Scrub comes from an agency that is keen on winning, so Baltimore's 4-8-0 record is not one that he is happy about. If dealt to Arizona, Scrub would instantly have a morale boost and may likely make Arizona untouchable. (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - NUCK - 07-01-2017 The Football world was a buzz this week with a trade for the ages! On the heel of a 4 game straight divisional war between the Yellowknife Wraiths and the Baltimore Hawks. It blew the airways up the morning following the final of the 4 games. Josh " Ballerstorm " Garden, Alexandre " @Zoone16 " LeClair and Chris " @Aenir " Orosz where traded to The Hawks in exchange for Scrub " @DollarAndADream " Kyubee, Damian " @GoodLeftUndone " West and a S2 1st and 3rd rounder. Why would Nuck trade away the majority of his passing game and some very vital parts of it? And only hours after the beat the very team he traded with in 3 of the last 4 games. Well we asked him and he had this to say. " With all the recent time we spent in Baltimore, it seems the 3 numb skulls I just shipped out found their way to some dive bar. Where they made a name for them self's as the 3 Blow-itos. After the fourth missed practice I walked down there to pull them out myself. Only to find all 3 of them ear deep in some sore encrusted alley walkers. They refused to leave the comfort of their perch, so before word got out, I was on the phone and they became Baltimore's issue! " (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - RainDelay - 07-01-2017 This point task regards hypothetical deadline deals, those that are supposed to shake up a franchise. Thinking up fake trades is fun and all, but the San Jose and Orange County GMs made my job a whole lot easier for this point task when they swung a deal right before the deadline. San Jose receives: QB Ethan Hunt Orange County receives: DT Bert Metas I was certainly sad to see Bert Metas leave, as he was a very adept defensive stopgap, but I know he will have success in other places as well, so I wish him the best! The real part I want to discuss, of course, is the 'Cats acquisition of Ethan Hunt, my favorite of the three Otters QBs. The SaberCats had struggled mightily with Jameis Christ at the helm, earning a 1-7 record, the lone win coming against the Arizona Outlaws. But since Hunt has become a member of the squad, they have won two and lost two. If San Jose defeats their final two opponents, then they can finish the year with Hunt having an above .500 record, a major stepping stone towards the future for the team. I have a lot of confidence in our new quarterback, and I think this deal was for the best with an eye to the future! (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - Rich - 07-01-2017 The Colorado Yeti are in a weird spot. We are pretty good at everything, but not the best at anything. That makes it difficult to choose what to try to improve with a trade. I think the obvious thing to do would be to try to move one of our running backs for some added depth elsewhere, but I don’t think teams have enough need at RB to get us a decent return on any of them. If I were to pick one thing I’d like to add, it would be another offensive lineman. We could use a little more protection for Noble, and a little more running room for our backs. My first choice would have to be Angus Winchester. He was my top pick among O-linemen based off name alone. Outside of his name, he has built a very good lineman, and is very active. The problem with this is, his value is too high to actually consider getting. Good thing that doesn’t matter. I’d give Orange County our first round pick in the S2 draft, and our second round pick in the S3 draft for Winchester. I think this isn’t unreasonable, given the quality of players likely to be available in the first round of the S2 draft, for a player of Winchester’s caliber. Most importantly, it allows us to add some needed help to the inside of our offensive line. (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - Aenir - 07-01-2017 A blockbuster deal huh? One that hasn't been to widely reported was the deal that really didn't get too far outside of preliminary talks, but were it completed, it could have changed the very foundation of the league! ![]() HB Bubba Nuck (Tyler Varga becomes GM) ![]() SS Isaiah Rashad HB Reg Mackworthy This trade shores up quite possibly the weakest part of the Wraith's Defense, the secondary, Rashad is the league's leading INT man, will Replace Sanchez at FS, and it gives the Wraiths another Running back to replace the man who has been carrying the team. On their end Arizona gets the League's #1 RB to fit with their very stout defense even if they are trading Rashad Away. The Implications of this trade would be felt all around the league, as the trade of a GM would shake things up immensely! Some might say why trade the GM of the team, I say...why not, Its a great trade piece to dangle as it assures a great return, I went a little undervalue for a GM, but I also tried to be fair without screwing either team. Obviously it ended up not occurring, but one has to agree that such a trade would shake the league to its core! 216 words @NUCK trade me huh? ![]() (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - TheWoZy - 07-01-2017 The Yeti have currently 3 good running backs on their squad. With the expansion draft coming soon, it is possible that one of them would be exposed. They should move one before losing for free. The Yeti trade Kieran O'Connell to Baltimore for a S2 3rd round pick and a S2 4th round pick. Kieran O'Connell is an elite rusher. He's number isn't the best since there's two other good RB on his team but he's still rank 7th in rushing yards and 1st in touchdown. He's also at 134 TPE which is way more than Robinson. This trade will help Baltimore much more. Their offense was a huge disappointment this season and their are currently out of the playoffs. Colorado gets 2 draft picks. O'Connell is a top players in the league but the Yeti also have two other good RB. Getting 2 picks for the draft will help them having a better depths or also use them to move up for an OL such as Greg Clegane or Tim Pest. Protection for their QB Logan Noble is their priority. There's alot of OL in the S2 draft. Loading picks for the upcoming draft will get them more options on the OL. (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - Saliva^ - 07-01-2017 The Saber Cats team isn't performing well so it's obvious that GM was looking for making trades for his team's future. First of all, our commish Ballerstorm decided to stir up shit by making speculations about Timote Shoate being traded to other team. However, his guess wasn't correct as he's still a Saber Cat. I also want to point it out that this might be a reason why user Bottas never came back after finding out the rumor. Damn you Baller! But San Jose management didn't leave the trade deadline without any deal. One day prior to Baller's fluff article happened, San Jose management was able to make a deal with the Otters' team: the defensive tackle Bert Metas was forced to pack his bags and move even more to South while the Sabercats got the quarterback in Ethan Hunt. This deal makes sense as there are concerns about Jameis Christ and his motivation so San Jose needed another QB to make sure the team won't have a hole at so important position. There were also a couple of options discussed in the Sabercats' LR, like trading some inactive players for picks/more promising players, but the aforementioned deal remained as the only one. The things are looking decent with the S2 first pick (likely) though and Ethan Hunt already helped the team by getting more wins than San Jose ever did without him. (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - youngcricket - 07-01-2017 How can the Outlaws get better? Frankly they are a deep team, but the DT position is one where they could use help as well as potentially adding a WR. A team that could potentially help them would be the Baltimore Hawks. After a hot start in the pre-season, the Hawks have cooled off and are not looking too hot as a team. With King Bronko making the move to QB, the Outlaws could decide to use their S2 and S3 first round picks to acquire a guy like Cooper Christmas, somebody who has a lot of potential they haven't lived up to. They could also try to swing a deal with the struggling San Jose Sabercats that attempts to acquire Bailey Cook, who might take a large package to acquire. The Outlaws could offer the same deal as well as a DT who has been semi-active in Luke Pierce. There has been rumors about another WR potentially leaving the Outlaws, so it would be a good idea for them to try and find some more talent in whatever capacity they can. If the Outlaws really want, they can stay quiet and hope to land a talented player through the draft to fill in for their voids. (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - Deusolis - 07-02-2017 Conventional wisdom dictates that, when working to improve a team, the most important thing is to shore up problem areas. This is not that plan. Rather than turning a D into a C, it is more impactful to turn A areas into A+'s. The Warriors and Rockets didn't add defense, they added more shooting. And the Memphis Grizzlies have doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on their Grit and Grind identity. Guided by this principle, the Yellowknife Wraiths, a team featuring the league's leading rusher and receivers, elect to add to their incredible stable of offensive playmakers, trading a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick in addition to strong safety Alex Hansen to the San Jose Sabercats for WR Bailey Cook. Cook is the NSFL's third-leading receiver, occupying the top spot for much of the season, and one of the best players regardless of position. Pairing Bailey with elite wideout Josh Garden and running back Bubba Nuck would truly maximize the offense. On the other hand, the SaberCats would accelerate their rebuild with the haul of draft picks and shore up their league-worst defense with the addition of Hansen. There are concerns about separating LB AC Hackett and Bailey as the two are something of a package deal, but with Hackett only having a year remaining on his contract acquiring him would be rather simple. Word count: 224 (S1) - PT #4 - Deadline Deals - dropbear - 07-02-2017 Orange County is a place that loves a bit of controversy. The Otters GM's drafted enough quarterbacks to staff the local government, which resulted in an almost immediate QB controversy, to the shock of no one. But with Bercovici apparently on the way out and Hunt already shipped off to San Jose, it appears Boss is the long-term started and there's no more drama -- how boring! With fans losing interest in the harmonious football team, the GM's propose a shock trade: Jameis Christ, former starting QB of the SaberCats and now second stringer to Ethan Hunt, for Leroy Jenkins. The Otters renew fan interest in their team with another disgruntled starting QB (though it comes at the cost of the slightly less dramatic RB controversy going on in Orange County), and the SaberCats get a viable replacement for Bowers Jr., should he opt not to sign on for another year. While Christ has been absent from training of late, there's no talk of him checking out completely just yet, and the opportunity to have some fun dethroning embattled QB Mike Boss may just be enough to pique his interest in the NSFL again. Will the trade go ahead? That remains to be seen. But the Otters are a strange animal, so you certainly can't discount the possibility. Code: 218 words |
