Nacho's favorite part of the new year is the thrill of getting back to action. The offseason seems to get longer and longer around here, especially as he starts to come into his own as a very good wide receiver in the NSFL. Nacho takes great pain to stay in tip top shape during the offseason, and he doesn't mind the grind too much. That said, there is nothing quite like that first time you step back into the stadium on gameday. The sound of the crowds as they cheer on the team when they run out of the tunnel, the thrill of the first kickoff, and his personal favorite, the first time he catches a pass from Falconi.

Nacho is not a sentimental guy. Far from it. But something about football nearly brings a tear to his eye the first time he laces up his $3M cleats and straps on his $3M dollar pads. Come to think of it, Nacho is investigating the absurdity of the economy in the NSFL. Something just doesn't seem right when a contract could be less than a personal training session.

Philly got off to a great start in a big comeback win against the Chicago Butchers in week 1, and Nacho could not be more pleased as he once again torched a team in a win.

This is one of the best times of the year in the NFL for my team, the Buffalo Bills. There is always some glimmer of hope going into the season with the new players, whether added in free agency or added through the draft. This year we expect Josh Allen to take his game to the next level. With the addition of players like John Brown and Cole Beasley bolstering the receiving corps and playing to Allen’s strengths we should see an even better quarterback than last season… even if he isn’t jumping over linebackers. Also recently as yesterday the Bills had their first ever 4-0 preseason. The last game was nothing to look at as all the starters sat for the game but it does show that depth is starting to build. This is something we have been lacking for the last decade or so. The Bills generally start off pretty good and end abysmally usually due to injury or just plain fatigue. I am not expecting playoffs for this team and realize that it will take some time for these players to gel together. I fully expect a 8-8 or hopefully a 9-7 team this year. Close but not quite there. But in the meantime we haven’t lost a game and it is indeed glorious.

Written Option: It’s everyone’s favorite time of year, both in the NSFL and our counterpart NFL. What is your favorite thing about the beginning of a new season, whether it is your first year, you are a veteran, or you are just excited your team hasn’t lost yet. Write about what you are excited for or what your plans are for opening day as a fan or player.

What's my favourite part about the beginning of the season? My favourite part is when you offer up a suggestion to change/alter preseason so that in hopes of limiting the offseason of nothingness and while not the sole reason of the post , it would've resulted in the limiting of errors because you could have multiple people check and re-check the file if you made a task list of x is doing y and z is doing a. You then get replied to, some make sense and I understand the perspective while others berate you because they're in a position of power, but hey it happens in every sim league.

My second favourite part of the season is where it seems literally everybody dropped the ball. Between updaters apparently updating threads but not editing roster pages, or the csv not being checked or from Head Office rushing to fix a situation without checking the rest of the file. Then telling us that we won in the re-sim, staying silent there after and then saying they're going to go back to the old sim file. Don't be fooled, I have no problem with which file is used, the one thats riddled with over half of the leagues teams being fucked (file1) or the second one which is also riddled with team mistakes with just Austins ones fixed. That's not my problem, my problem is how people tryed to spin it asif Austin were at fault. Or that it wasn't fair that our team was fucked. We went 0-13, we open a thread and see people spinning it on us and in the very end we didn't even get an apology back. Did anybody get an apology back? I don't think anybody did. I think there's a very real possibility of seeing a Las Vegas Legion esque situation if people are already building up a rhetoric that we're moaning for the sake of it. Or acting asif the entire locker room was up in arms. You're not in our discord and you have no idea what you're talking about.

Since I'm over 200 words here (for you poor bastards of the PT team that have to read this, I apologise), I might have went a little off track in my rant here so I'll add a bit in character.

Realistically my favourite part of a new season is just that, we're out of the hole of preseason/offseason which lasts too long. It's boring, nothing happens. This doesn't mean I dont understand that there's alot of work going on behind the scenes or anything, but when you're on the outside, you're losing members. Retention is down, people who joined from reddit that offseason are losing focus looking at blank forums that don't do anything (thank god for the prospect bowl, but that's not enough).

My other favourite part of the new season is the new hopes it brings, hopes we can at some stage get the fuck off jcink.

As one of the newest members of the Colorado Yeti organization, my excitement for the beginning of the new season revolves around the potential for growth. Obviously, the Yeti finished an atrocious 1-12 last season, which means there is (almost) nowhere to go but up, and although we are by no means the favorites to win the league or even make the playoffs this season, I believe this team has the potential to win more games and perform better as a whole than it did last year. The start of the season is a time to see how the work the Yeti have put in during the offseason pays off, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish in the season ahead of us.

As a member of the San Antonio Marshal war room, I am perhaps even more excited for the DSFL season, where a great deal of turnover leaves the league with a mostly clean slate for the massive and colorful batch of s18 rookies. This is a time for these newcomers to see exactly what this league is about, to experience a piece of themselves in this league, and to enjoy their new home as members of the NSFL community. There are fun characters all across the league, but the Marshals specifically have a brilliant young core, and I am excited to see them try to turn things around after a somewhat disappointing performance last season.

As a fan of both leagues, I am looking forward to what figures to be an exciting season in both leagues, and even more looking forward to the season to follow.

Johnson Harding was preparing for opening day unlike most Developmental Simulation Football League players. Johnson Harding was a late entry into the league, and due to this was found to be ineligible for his team’s first four games. So instead of seeing some on the field snaps, Johnson Harding was relegated to clipboard duty. Johnson Harding had to stand by on the sidelines watching arguably the Developmental Simulation Football League’s worst quarterback in history dig a hole for the Norfolk Seawolves.

Instead of preparing to play, Johnson Harding spent time getting to know his teammates and study the playbook. Since the Norfolk Seawolves will now have a competent quarterback, there will likely be some significant changes to the playbook and game plans once Johnson Harding can step on the field.

Johnson’s Harding “opening day” is just a few days away. Johnson Harding will be the starting quarterback for the Seawolves in their week 5 matchup against the Palm Beach Solar Bears. Johnson Harding cannot wait to go step on the field in Norfolk and show the team and the fans what he is capable of. Since the Seawolves opened 1-3 without Johnson Harding playing, he will have to help them dig themselves out of the hole they are in to earn a playoff spot.

Normally, the most exciting thing about the start of the league is the chance to play with new teammates. We didn't call up any of our S17 rookies, but I am excited to watch Saba, Ducky, and Masters do their thing in the DSFL. However, this season, we're getting the chance to play with the S16 OPotY, WR Vinny Valentine. Vinny has a great track record and is still one of the best receivers in the league. I was excited at the chance to pair him with Andrew Reese and I look forward to seing how he fits in with the rest of our offense. So far, it seems like he's going to help elevate everyone around him while leading the attack through the air.

However, what's unique about this season is that Arizona is coming off a championship win, which gives us a chance to defend our title. I'm looking forward to a hard-fought competitive season. The team is headed in a great direction and I think we're even better than we were last season. Of course, other teams have made major improvements (particularly Philly and Yellowknife) and the Otters are looking to avenge their ASFC Championship loss from the play-offs, so it's going to be an exciting season to watch unfold.

This time of year means another season of football and football means another season of Fantasy. I’ve commished the same fantasy league for 8 years now. The league originally started with 8 teams, and expanded to 12 the second year. We still have 6 of the original league members. We have a trophy that we pass around to each winner. We have only had one person win it twice, which is incredible, that our league remains competitive that no one person has had dominated the league every year. Most owners change their team name each, which is fun. I think it is pretty special that a few owners have kept their team name the same each season. The best team name so far occurred last season. We did a Star Wars themed names, and one guy named his team Han Kareem Leia’s Hunt. I’m not sure how long this league will continue. Some of these guys I don’t see any more, nor do we talk on a regular basis. It makes me sad to think about that. My sister just joined the league though. We had an opening for the first time in 4 years. So i guess I have an added reason to keep the league going.
