Alright this is so stupid. There are three parts to this.
IDENTIFYING THE ERROR
This part is easy. The updater fucked up somewhere. Neither HO nor Austin made a mistake when it comes to the issue at the heart of this whole deal.
SHORT-TERM SOLUTION
The one HO went with was a re-sim. The alternative is use a week 1 file since re-sims make everybody upset. Now normally I'd say, even if a majority is upset, the minority was unfairly treated and thus should get a fair playing field. BUT... many Austin players (the minority here) are seeing the issue with re-sims, and would like an apology and things fixed for the future, but not necessarily. That would be my choice. However other players fought through 0-13 and I didn't. So I would say put it up to a vote among HO, and players on the Copperheads roster? Voting would be anonymous.
LONG-TERM SOLUTION
Pre-season needs to be functional. As in, our purpose for it is solve issues. Gotta make sure they actually get solved. That's on HO/Updaters/Simmer, I don't know anything about all that I'm afraid. Fix it pls
