(S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - CDub2 - 12-15-2019 You know what the reality is? The Chicago Butchers beat the Yellowknife Wraiths. Destroyed them. Showed those fools who was boss. Now haters are gonna hate and say that the sim is crap and Yellowknife is the better team, but the reality is that Chicago won. Not to mention, Chicago likely wins that game 9/10. We are just an all around better team and any one who says different isn’t really looking at the advanced analytics. Advanced analytics show that Chicago is a really good team, likely one or two pieces away from winning the championship. And while the sim two weeks of summing have not gone according to plan, that is mostly HO sim rigging to keep us down. But even they couldn’t rig the sim hard enough to prevent YKW losing to us Butchers. We are the playoff hope Butchers. And to be honest, if HO is gonna keep rigging the sim against us, I’m all for trying our best to ruin other teams chances as reaching the playoffs. Upsets give me the will to live. Just wait, CHI will be on top in no time, then all the doubters and anyone who said CHI is a death trap will be wishing to come here. 208 (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - Molarpistols - 12-15-2019 Gus T.T. Showbiz is a 4-time National Simulation Football League Champion. Two as a Quarterback and two as a Safety/Linebacker. Guess where Gus T.T. Showbiz is playing this season? He's still in Orange County, but "playing" is not a term one could use to describe his season. Imagine the drama, the intrigue, the straight-up awkwardness that could ensue when an all-time great Orange County Otter is relegated to sitting on the bench, alone, friendless, in purgatory! The Otters are currently undefeated, so it seems like it might still be worth it if another Ultimus ring is involved, but as an athlete, a competitor, a champion, how can you sit idly by on the bench? Gus T.T. Showbiz has been in this league for a long time at this point, you would think that a man such as tested, trusted and true would be beyond the issue of having to back other people up. But no, Gus T.T. Showbiz is stuck riding pine for the forseeable futuer as the Otters keep rolling. Who, in their right mind, would mess with something that's working? A bloody world-class defense and you're not taking part in it? Maybe it's you... The Otters franchise, the fans, the bandwagoners, all, ALL of them are witnessing a moment of greatness. When an athlete puts self, both body, and mind behind something bigger than himself. The Team. (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - TomHanks - 12-15-2019 Let me tell you, writing about disappointing performances are easy when you’ve had a bunch. I came into this season with sky high expectations. We have our QB hitting her prime and the base of the team at their peak. We’ve brought in free agents, we’ve drafted well. We have the most actives in the league. And then there’s the one thing we can’t control, how it all translates in the sim. We’ve been expecting or at least feeling good about our chances for wins in all but week 1 this season, but it simply isn’t working the way we’d like. 3 games we’ve been favourites in that we’ve sadly taken losses, and we have a tough schedule ahead of us. We’re second in the conference but could easily fall out if things carry on luck wise the way they have. And that just seems to be the way it is. I know we aren’t the only ones to have ever had runs of bad sim luck and I know there’s no real value to complaining about it, particularly as much as I have, but it’s just disheartening when the team’s championship window has finally opened and we may not even make playoffs with how many losses we’ve already picked up. Who knows, luck has to turn around at some point right? (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - Zeddez - 12-15-2019 PBE Affiliate (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - Modern_Duke - 12-15-2019 Louisiana Purchase was a seventh round pick in the season 17 DSFL draft, but quickly made a name for himself in this time with the San Antonio Marshals. Purchase overcame the middling expectations you may gather based on his draft position and put together one of the most impressive stat lines you can imagine in his lone season in the DSFL. With seven interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries, Purchase not only lead the league in each of the turnover categories, his totals were nearly double that of the next contenders. Not to mention his coverage abilities lead to a league leading 15 pass defenses, his tackling abilities lead to 58 tackles and 2 sacks, and his athletic abilities lead to 2 defensive touchdowns, en route to a unanimous DSFL defensive rookie of the year award. However, after being drafted fourth overall by the Colorado Yeti in the season 18 NSFL draft, Purchase's turnover prowess has mysteriously disappeared. In his rookie campaign, his interceptions were reduced by more than half to 3, and the fumbles, sacks, and defensive touchdowns were all eliminated completely. Coming into this season, there was hope that the dropoff could just have been rookie jitters, but unfortunately season 19 has shown to be more of the same. Through seven games, Purchase has yet to force a turnover, making it 10 straight games total without one. Purchase looks to avoid going an entire season without an interception, and also looks to avoid the 'draft bust' label. (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - Duilio05 - 12-15-2019 Once again i am writing about the dam wraiths out of Yellowknife, Canada. Wish there I did not have to write about them so often. They really get under my skin. Baltimore Hawks are doing great to start the season. Week one games are always triking, do not really know who you are playing and do not have any real depth chart strategies to test against. the team came out really strong and beat the Chicago Butchers on the road to start the season. a great indication of what the season might be like. The team then crushed the Outlaws by a score of 40 - 22. Things are looking good. Zero doubt that once again we would be making moves for a strong playoff run. Our two biggest concerns would be Colorado and Yellowknife. Week 3 we played Yellowknife at home. It was a great game. we went into the 4th quarter leading 17 -13. I had even got a pick6 from Cooter. Then once again felt like magic made us lose all focus. we gave up big scoring drives. We even had the game in hand. with less than a minute to play we were leading 20-17. then the magic curse came and couldn't stop them. the won on a walk off TD. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - MrStennett - 12-15-2019 The most disappointing part of the first week of games is that we haven't just been automatically awarded this season's Ultimus trophy yet. Every other team that was supposed to be some sort of big dog this year has met a serious stumbling block already except my Otters. Orange County is out here just steamrolling the rest of the competition, and no one is even getting close to our level of excellence. Look at Yellowknife. They were supposed to be some kind of giant killers this season. They made a big splash in the offseason signing that prima donna Sunnycursed who was too good to keep playing in the OC and now look at them. They're getting wrecked by garbage teams constantly, but then they beat both the Hawks and the Yetis, the two teams that are supposed to be their major competition. I have no idea what is going on over in the NSFC. What I do know is what is going on in the ASFC. The rest of the division is an absolute dumpster fire. The second place New Orleans Second Line are 3-4. That's worse than three teams in the NSFC and as we've already covered, they aren't doing so hot over there themselves. All you need to know is to watch out for the Otters. Code: 220 words (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - hihihi_62 - 12-15-2019 The way last season ended was left a bitter taste in many of the Yellowknife Wraiths mouths so coming into this season expectations were high. Last regular season we lost only one game all season so the team had hopes of completing an undefeated season this year. Well, if you want to talk about week one disappointment the Liberty came into our house week one and creamed us. Overall the team played relatively well but Richard D'Attoria V had himself a field day against our offence racking up 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions and a touchdown! It's tough to win when a guy puts together a legendary performance like that and singlehandedly gives your team nightmares. Considering the high expectations coming into the season week one was definitely a disappointment to the players and fans. All things considered though there were many positives in the game and the team only lost by 8 which isn't half bad considering all those turnovers. Personally it wasn't a bad game putting up 8 tackles of my own. The team has used that week one loss as fuel throughout the season and we still expect to do big things before the season ends. (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - pazuzu - 12-15-2019 PBE PT (S19) - PT2 - Back to Reality - White Cornerback - 12-15-2019 Written Option: Once the season starts, sky-high optimism very usually comes back to reality. Write about a disappointment from the first week of games. It can be a play, a loss, or your a poor statistical performance. We fucking suck. But more so than the team sucking balls, which we do, Lavelle sucks the most. He's way down on his kick and punt returns for the season, thats flatout ignoring his absolutely miserable form playing as a defensive back. He's got single digit pass deflections and just a single interception, despite being the esteemed son of the greatest player in NSFL Defensive history. He just is physically unable to get it done, it's as simple as that. Concerning the team, they're pretty fucking awful too. Cole couldn't hit a bar door, nevermind a corner flag or and endzone, Mendonca is running in circles most of the time, Tidwell catches touchdowns and gains yards and out of nowhere he just looses them from the stat sheet. Defensively we haven't been half bad, well except for the fact that we cant fuckin turnover the ball ya dig. I mean Okura gets a few, so does Adams but that's about it. Our defensive line has got to step up, along with out linebackers, they just aint doing enough. Gaines has been doing good, especially returning the ball as of late but he's got to lay it all out on the field, every fuckin night. Is this a drawback to losing Owens? Maybe. And maybe not, we cant wallow in pity. We have to move forward and put this horrible first week and dissappointing season behind us for now. |
