I have engaged in trade talks, but I always mentioned that I would be shelving any deals until after expansion.  To reiterate what I've said in the post already, Las Vegas is knowingly shooting themselves in the foot by diluting the expansion player pool.  If a potential free agent would rather play for a team that knowingly puts itself at a competitive disadvantage then so be it, I won't stop them.

I think that though, most of the people in this league agree with what I'm saying.  In fact, the only people who have said anything to the contrary are Legion players and soon to be Legion players.  You guys have your little team over there, have fun with it.

So bypassing the draft to acquire the players you want and not risk losing them in the expansion draft is "shooting yoursef in the foot"? No, it's bein smart and going out and getting what you want before someone else takes it.

Also, for that last comment, isn't that the point? To get players who buy into what your selling?

Guys, relax. Many of these players won't even be here come Week 1.

Bowers, Jr. for example never said he would go to Vegas in FA, and it's probably more likely he heads to one of the S1 teams.

Actually, according to the initial post by Ballerstorm:

Trades are not allowed until after the championship game tomorrow. I guess we've all broken the rules. My hope is that out all of this is not that anything done gets undone, but that we all realize that this circumvents the entire intent of an expansion draft and it is corrected next time there is an expansion.

Let me help you polish that soap box you're currently standing on. I'd be happy to.

Yes, and if you don't understand how I'm not sure how much more simple I can explain it. For you though, I'll try. Let's look at the Wraiths/Vegas trade.

Current Situation
Las Vegas has:
Ramiro
LeClair
Ferguson
Flimjollywop
Wraiths 6th

And Las Vegas lost:
Their 1st, 2nd, 4th, next years 2nd, and "future considerations"

Wraiths can now protect all 12 of thier remaining active players

Other situation:
If they waited until after expansion draft, lets say Wraiths protected Ramiro, LeClair, and Ferfuson but left Flimjlllywop exposed.
Las Vegas:
Drafts Flimjollywop in expansion, and one more other wraith active player.
Las Vegas trades that other active player and only a 1st, 2nd, and 4th for Ramiro, LeClaoe, and Ferguson

In this scenario, Las Vegas would save a pick and keep all the same players. There is a cost that the Legion are paying by making these trades before the draft. Period.

But is it guarantee that the other expansion team won't pick Flimjlllywop before Las Vegas?

It could be, if RFFO and me each had players we wanted, I'm sure we would have discussed that going into the draft. And even if the other team took him, he could be traded for likely for a price less than what they paid.
