As an aside everyone keeps saying "It's just a bunch of memes", but I don't know who actually saw them...
People may not feel comfortable accessing discord servers at work or with family if they fear that this sort of content will be displayed. If it's in a NSFW channel, then sure that's fine. But this kind of stuff can legit make people uncomfortable and want to stay away, and btw there's a whole world of memes out there that aren't NSFW lol.

No, but we have underage children and working professionals who visit the forums and official Discord servers on a regular basis, and for whom serious consequences arise when they are exposed to illicit material. Just because this league's run though the internet doesn't mean there aren't rules/laws/social customs we still need to respect.
