Jiggly told me this when I was researching my Chicago article: “During this time I was desperately holding onto the team not because I wanted power, but because I just wanted a team in Chicago. I was obsessed with keeping the team. I was continually mocked by the rest of the league in the GM chat to the point where there were people calling for my team to be contracted.” I’m honestly having a hard time coming down on HO here. Could they have forced Jiggly out and put the candidate in? Maybe. But Jiggly put HO in a position where they couldn’t reasonably do it because he got Chicago to reject the candidate (admittedly without valid reason). At that point forcing the issue puts the candidate in charge of a team that has decided they don’t want them. Which would be fucking awful. I'm just saying the last time this happened the HO squashed it and the league moved on, something I think anyone outside of the 4-5 actives in Chicago would be fine with. I will also note that the person HO chose went IA, and team went under bot leadership afterwards so the situations are different. As for Chicago's objections, they are clinging onto a team and brand that they themselves have been involved in tainting. In my opinion it's hard to take their opinion on the situation seriously as the first move by any decent replacement is to purge most of the active players for draft picks, have a slow year, then work on building an active team moving forward in upcoming drafts. It's also worth pointing out that none of the current HO members were in HO at that time. Hell, most weren't even in the league. So, that fact has exactly zero bearing on the current situation. We joke about being evil and all that but ultimately our job as HO is to keep the league as a whole running smoothly, and a team revolt is the exact opposite of that. I'm probably the second longest tenured person (being in the league, not HO) and I wasn't even here for the Chicago Blues - I was here for the Chicago Coyotes (the other Chicago team everyone forgets about). Outside of manic and myself it's S15, S15, S18, S18. Chicago Interim GM - Symmetrik - 03-30-2020 (03-30-2020, 09:45 AM)TomHanks Wrote:I’m honestly having a hard time coming down on HO here. They only rejected them because they were given the time and the choice to do so. If HO just installs a GM, as they should, there’s not the time or opportunity to convince a team that someone isn’t the right choice before they can even get chance. If we had forced in a GM and a bunch of Chicago users quit because they didn't like the choice, it would cripple the team even worse. I'm 100% certain people would be in here complaining that we overstepped in that scenario. ROD TIDWELL TO SAVE THE LEAGUE!? Chicago Interim GM - MrStennett - 03-30-2020 We need a good multi. I want to read about something other than how I’m tainting our pristine football league.
