(S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - Sutj - 04-27-2020 Despite a rather alright season by most standards last year, Friedrich Vequain isn't happy with what he's done. Entering the DSFL, he set very high expectations for himself, expectations that he, unfortunately, did not manage to reach. After being drafted to the Arizona Outlaws as the 16th WR off the board and being told to stay down in the DSFL, the chip on Friedrich Vequain's shoulder is bigger than ever. He has people now to prove that he was worth the pick, but more importantly, he now has people to prove wrong that passed on him. Friedrich Vequain is hoping to set not only career records but team records as well, if not DSFL records. Though this will be an extremely difficult goal to reach, with enough effort and maybe a bit of luck, this is a goal that Friedrich Vequain will be able to reach. Friedrich Vequain has had a rather easy football career so far, from little league to college, being touted and recognised as one of the best wide receivers in the nation. This is the first time that Vequain's skill has been doubted, and it will leave him with a bigger fire and passion for the game than ever before. (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - Aenir - 04-27-2020 Griff Oberwald was drafted with the 46th pick in the DSFL Draft, and honestly, he is okay with that. Griff has been the underdog when he first started in the Blood Bowl too. That is fine, because Griff is bringing a lot of pain to this league. Norfolk brought in such a great pick, such a steal, and he is going to take the league by storm. He is looking for heads to roll, and pain to bring to any other teams that he faced off against him. Griff is looking to become the best Wide Receiver in the DSFL and is looking to win the Wide Receiver of the Year award for the DSFL. That is the first way to bring the pain and show the world what Blood Bowl players can do. Griff Oberwald wants to break every single record in the DSFL for Wide Receivers. Pancakes in a season? Catches? Yards? Touchdowns? Griff can do it all, and he wants to prove it to Norfolk and the rest of the world. Griff is as special as they come, and yes, not many people here know about what Griff did over in Albion, but they are going to learn why he is one of the most feared catchers out there. 212 Words (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - terriblehippo - 04-27-2020 Code: 241 words The biggest objective in Quenton Bode's mind ahead of the start of Season 22 is winning another Ultimus. Winning in S21 was one of the highlights of Bode's career and even his life, but as long as he feels like he can play, he wants to win. So in a way, this upcoming season is much the same as the previous ones: work hard, study the opposition, leave everything on the field and, hopefully, end the season as a champion. On a personal level, Bode still has his sights set on reaching one thousand career tackles. And of course, there are still records to be broken in New Orleans. He's already the franchise's leading tackler, but forcing two more fumbles would make him the franchise leader in forced fumbles. Recovering both of those fumbles would put him in second place for fumbles recovered, and only one behind current record holder Brian Mills. If the Second Line manages to reach the playoffs again, Bode is hoping to set the franchise record for career playoff tackles: he only needs eighteen to set the record. He also has a forced fumble in the playoffs, and another one would tie him with Julian O'Sullivan for first all-time. In short, Bode is hoping that his performance this season will not only help bring another championship to New Orleans, but will make him a lock for the Second Line Hall of Fame. (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - UpperNet - 04-27-2020 This season a new version of Net Gaines will arise, a version better then the previous season and is hungry to get what his and thats to get as much accomplished and he can! Net wants to chase for records, stats and dreams this seasom and yes by dream we are talking about the ultimis dream because we have the team to dominate this league and get to ultimus and this time Net has every maxed stats to get there and help win it for the team. The seasom before last season net had a disappointing season with only 2 TDs and about 800 yards but the season after that net had a little over 1000 yards and 5 TDs. He was even nominated to be the breakout player of the year. Now you see the pattern? Every season net slowly continues to improve his stats and this season it isnt going to change. You know I'll be gunning for 1300+ yards and goose to 10 TDs. I put high expectations on myself and this season I'm sure I'll get the stats and the ultimus and you cant stop me. Watech out league and when you tune into a Austin game look for that #88 on the field because he will wow you. (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - Sylphreni - 04-27-2020 After going first overall in the DSFL draft, it's safe to say Greedy Sly can feel the target on his back. Greedy knows from here on out this season, every time he takes the field the opposing QB is going to be looking to make a name for himself, by sneaking one past him. Accordingly, opposing Wide Receivers will be looking to better their own draft stock by breaking into open field, chancing upon even the slightest moments of indecision. Knowing this is what faces him this year, Greedy has begun to train for the season with reckless abandon. Preparing both his mind and body for the challenges to come. Even though Greedy realizes the DSFL is merely a step along the way in his journey to the NSFL, he's committed to making a good showing while he's here. As far as actual goals and accomplishments Greedy would like to set for the coming DSFL season. Greedy expects to max out at 250 TPE during his time in the league, in preparation of the impending NSFL draft. Furthermore, he'd like to be in the conversation for defensive back of the year and defensive player of the year. London already boasts last years defensive player of the year, and Greedy will be looking to bring that trophy back to the Queens Domain once more this season. (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - muse316 - 04-27-2020 Luke Skywalker is poised and ready for S22. Although he already a Performance of the Year award under his belt, Skywalker can’t help but feel greediness. He came in second for both Quarterback of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year, and while he knows the latter is but an unachievable dream in the DSFL, he hopes that this year he can finally nab that Quarterback of the Year award and raise it high over his head at the end of the season. The back half of S22 also showed a regression in Luke’s passing game; Skywalker felt as though his interception numbers were too high, and while part of that was due to playing against great defense linesmen, Luke knows that a lot of the interceptions were due to his own failures and lack of intelligence in the game. Skywalker has spent most of the offseason studying old tapes and going over the playbook, and feels more confident that, this year, he can play more cleanly, increase his passer rating, and play the best for his home team. Luke also dreams that he and his team can win the Ultimini this season. Last season had the Norfolk Seawolves undergo a crushing loss in the first playoff game with a giant egg of a score, and the shame and embarrassment still burns a fuel inside of Skywalker. He feels as though he let his team down and wants to strive in S22 to bring home to Norfolk a trophy that his team and his city can share. Let’s go Seawolves! (261 words) (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - 2Burkeulosis - 04-27-2020 My main focus as a player this year is to win the Ultimini. The London Royals lost a lot of talent in the draft this year (including both the offensive and defensive players of the year) but those of us who remain are some of the best in the DSFL at their respective positions right now. Our offense was left mostly intact and has improved tremendously from last season. While we lost some key members on defense the Royals have drafted some promising young players who we hope will be able to fill in those gaps. Perhaps most importantly we have drafted a kicker by the name of Datsum PhastBawls. I feel like a lot of our problems last year stemmed from not having an active kicker so with Datsum on the team we stand a much better chance this year. The other goal I have for myself this year is to increase the amount of touchdowns I catch. I only had two last year and while I am more interested in seeing the team do well. I would like to take on a bigger role on offense and see some more targets in the red zone. I think 5 touchdowns is a reasonable number to shoot for given all the improvements I have made over the course of last season. (S22) - PT1 - Runnin’ Down a Dream - cho1325 - 04-27-2020 This year will be the first year that I play in the NSFL. After coming from the DSFL I have a much clear goal in mind of what I want. Ideally getting defensive rookie of the year would be the biggest goal right now. The best way to achieve that goal is to get out there on the field and get sacks and tackles for losses. There is no greater feeling in the world then when you bring the starting quarterback down to the turf. Our team is constantly on the run to the ultimus but fall short in the play offs. This year many great rookies were added to all the NSFL teams and I believe in a few years (less than 4) then Yellowknife wraiths have great potential of breaking the playoff slumps and finally enter the Ultimus championship game and come away with the trophy. For now though our goal is to train our bodies and minds to be in tip top shape for when the day ultimately arises when we are back in the playoff run again. For now though striving to become defensive rookie of the year is what I am striving for, along with helping my team win the best way I can, by being disruptive on the field.
