This season Brick has been slightly underperforming in my opinion as far as his tackles and sacks go.

Now this may be an adjustment overall as the Silverbacks have had their ups and downs this season (looking to be hopefully trending upward now).

Brick has posted a decent number of sacks but nowhere near his best, his tackles numbers have been pretty on par for his usual season and his TFLs seem to be trending in the right direction.

Brick has been extensively working on his tackling throughout this season and the offseason in an attempt to better seal the edge as well as pressure the quarterback, he's been working on his tackling technique to make sure he wraps up and takes down the ball carrier anytime they are within reach.

Brick has been doing drills with the toughest offensive lineman he can find and having the most elusive ball carriers on the team try to run past him in a one on one. This should hopefully help improve his vision and ability to reach out and shed off blocks to nab the tackle.

Hopefully this will help Brick pump up his tackle numbers so he can contribute to more than just rushing the Quarterback.

I am pretty darn happy with what Dion is doing in Portland. as an interior lineman, I am top 15 in pancakes in the DSFL and have not allowed a sack. I understand inside pressure isn't gigantic, not like being a tackle but it is still vastly important. A great interior O-line can lead to a great running game. Oh well would you look at that, Portland has backs 3,4 in rushing on a fairly even 2 back system. You can thank the big boys up front at least partially for that stuff. As far as getting better the rest of the season not much for me to say as an o lineman to be honest. I wanna continue not giving up sacks and leading the way for our strong running games, give our QB ample time and keep winning games. Pretty simple. I guess if it was a more physical attribute I could say I wanna continue in the weight room and get stronger. Those of you with sharp ears and eyes will remember my wrestling background in highschool and college so the technical aspects such as hands and feet are unmatched so far. I get great compliments from my coaches on my technique. Getting the physical traits to make the skill will make me a great player.

We have surpassed the halfway mark - 9 games into the ISFL's 30th season and one thing can be said for certain: of all the cornerbacks in the ISFL, Richard Leaking is one of them. I don't think Leaking is having a bad season, but he's definitely not currently in the running for cornerback of the year or anything like that either. Leaking is tied (with 12 other players) for fourth in the league in interceptions, having picked off two quarterbacks this season. He is also tied for ninth in the league in passes deflected after swatting 15 balls in 9 games, including a whopping 5 PDs in week 4 against the Yellowknife Wraiths. As far as tackles, TFLs, and sacks go, Leaking is so far down on the defensive leaderboards, it's almost not worth mentioning. If Leaking can improve his reaction time and awareness, I think he would be able to intercept more balls and become more of a game changer on the field. I think he also needs to work on his trash talk game to really get inside the heads of both wide receivers and quarterbacks - if they're rattled, they won't play as well, and that's when Leaking will strike. Also, Leaking forced a fumble once this season. I would be remiss if I didn't bring that up.

As someone who never really looks at their own stats but instead judges success by what the team is doing and not how they're doing individually, this prompt is a bit sticky for me. Not just because I rarely look at how Adelie de Pengu is doing, but also because I have no expectations for him as a player and so it is hard to compare his season success to what I would want. Looking overall at the team though, the Colorado Yeti are first in the league in least yards allowed at the time of writing this. They're first in pass defense as well. They're 2nd in points allowed though and they come in at 4th in yards allowed on the ground. The rushing yards is pretty unacceptable when so much else is going right. So if I had any complaints about Adelie's game, its that I want him to make a bigger splash in run defense. He plays both middle linebacker and defensive end depending on formation for this team and as such his presence should be felt in the front seven and he should be one of those shutting these runs down before they even get their start. So far he hasn't really been successful with that and if he could step up, I think this defense closes out as one of the best of all time.

Chuck Roth's performance? Not bad enough, if I'm being honest. You see, the worse Chuck plays, the better the team does. In the one game chuck had two sacks, we nearly lost! Chuck really needs to improve on doing nothing each and every down, much like Albert Haynesworth did versus the Eagles all those years ago. In the beginning of the season, Chuck was doing too much, and that was unacceptable! He had games with as many as five tackles. Five!! That's a month's worth for him normally. The Sarasota game finally showed that he was capable of doing nothing; he managed to take every play but one off the entire game. His one play was clobbering frost, because who doesn't love to do that? He even had as many penalties as he did tackles! Now that's some high quality stuff! In the Yellowknife game, the Wraiths almost won. Why? Chuck had three tackles! That's terrible! Jay Cue Jr. ran all over him for a whopping 28 yards- chuck should've let him have 100 yards! The less tackles the better for the big man. Hopefully he's saving his energy for the playoffs, but he might also be saving his energy for the buffet line, you never know with Chuck!

With the halfway point of the season having approached, there was one particular piece that was weighing heavily on Melvin's mind. His on the field efforts had been at the maximum, but there was definitely something off the field that was bothering him, that he wanted to approach. Having entered his fourth season as a general manager, he always felt that there was just one piece that didn't quite work for the team, and that was his co-gm, Sylvester. While there are so many players and pieces on the team that just melded together, Melvin felt that he could work to improve his GM partner. Now, there are obviously a lot of ways to do this, but as far as short term goals go, Melvin's first objective was going to be getting rid of his co-GM. Many might think that someone named MURDER-Moose would opt for a path of violence, but having been reformed, Melvin was definitely looking at finding another way to reach his goal. He decided to set forth a scandal involving Sylvester. Now, this is not a scandal which is appropriate for simulation football league audiences, but just be forewarned that it is most definitely an awful thing to have happened. Now that it seemed as though Sylvester was out of the way, the next step in planning for his future involved Melvin wanting to find the best possible GM. He looked at all of his teammates and players, as well as their agents. He even considered looking outside of the Colorado Network, but after having been around for quite awhile, Melvin knew there was only one choice to be made. With the plan in place, Melvin knew that he just had to follow the easy steps laid out in front of him, in order to make sure that he could make it through this short term goal.

Saleem Spence honestly doesn't have a ton that NEEDS to be improved on. He's a perfectly serviceable 3rd receiver on a contending team thats struggling a bit to live up to its preseason hype, but hes far from the reason for the team's 5-4 record. Spence has been slowly working on increasing his ability to catch the ball in traffic over the course of the season, which hasn't worked out as well as hoped, as Spence has fumbled twice this season (up from last season's 1 fumble), and has 3 drops in much fewer targets than he got last season (where he had 4 drops but saw more of the ball overall.)

If Spence is reaching the ceiling of that particular ability though, then he's planning on working on his endurance. While he isn't a starter, he still sees the field a fair bit in 3 wideout singleback sets, and its important he maintains a certain level of stamina towards the ends of games. More importantly, Sarasota's coaches believe that improved cardio might unlock further potential that Spence has as an athlete. enabling him to move more smoothly in the passing game and run crisper, faster routes with better turns. If Spence does unlock his full athletic potential, then Sarasota's receiver group could be considered unmatched compared to the rest of the league.

At the halfway point of this season, the one thing that I am doing relatively well on is blocking the pancakes statistic which is quite honestly the only statistic that offensive linemen have. However, even with that var, the most important people on the field, so it's not really that big a deal as long as everyone understands that we are needed, required, and better than everybody else. The things that I can improve on on the field, or continuing to not be a bad player, and not really anything else. At this point we are one of the better offensive lineman in the league. We have not a lot of sack for going on two seasons now. And we have almost been near the top of the league and pancakes for the last few seasons. That said, locker room improvements are much needed and apparently the use to language that contains language that is detrimental to the league is a place where I can improve as a player moving forward. These issues are not that large and I fully expect for us to show drastic improvement in that regard as we move forward through both this season an into the next. This is really all that I can improve on with having a good season so far.

One thing I'd like to improve on would be to get a couple more interceptions and force some more fumbles. Right now I'm the league leader in tackles for safeties with 57. I am also doing well with sacks as I have 6 overall, which is also top for all safeties. I only have one interception so far and so I feel like to really round out my game I should be hoping to get a few more in by the end of the season. I am a box safety and so play as a linebacker some of the time, this is why I have good tackle numbers. Even though I'm not in coverage 100% of the time I feel like I can grab a few more interceptions when out there and also get some when I'm closer to the line of scrimmage. I feel like if I can improve my interception numbers I could force myself into the discussion for safety of the year. I probably also need to score a defensive touchdown as for some reason people seem to love that even though it is one of the flukiest stats you can get.
I also feel like I should be forcing more fumbles, especially with the number of tackles and sacks I am getting. I have max Strength and I am now at 81 Competitiveness as well as being maxed out at most attributes. I feel like the fumbles will come soon enough if I can keep up my sack and tackle numbers. If I can improve in these areas I will have a really great all-round season for a safety. It would be nice to win an award.

The sim gods have not been kind to the Yeti this season. Our defense is one of the best in the league in terms of TPE and our secondary should easily be an elite unit. Yet, we have struggled to win games, which is annoying. Redbeard’s stats have not been anything special, but honestly I expected that after the last several seasons. Because of the aforementioned elite secondary, Redbeard is still playing more of a backup role and filling the void in the defense when we switch to pass coverage formations. It is definitely not a sexy or eye catching position to play. Within the season, I would like to see Redbeard put up a stronger second half. With the athlete trait acquired, Redbeard should e more of a presence in the backfield. He has two fumble recoveries already, perhaps I could get to the ball a bit quicker and bump that total up a bit. Maybe I can get more involved in the pass defense and double my PD total, getting to 16. Or, maybe another interception or two could be in the mix. That would be pretty special. Looking to the end of the season, I definitely want Redbeard to make a bigger impact but I am not sure how much more I can expect until he is starting every day at a CB position instead of filling in gaps in the defense. Unfortunately, that probably does not happen until next season at the earliest.
