More TPE opportunities for the minor players. I always think D-league players should get more points to have an easier time in the NSFL from the start. After all, this is the developmental league, isn't it? It could make them feel that they won't fail miserably in their rookie season. Right now they have the same PT as other big league players (unless I missed something) and I don't know, maybe D-league players are fine with the current PT system, but I still think more TPE would be better for youngsters. At least that's what I saw in every other sim league tbh.

Change:

Regression system. I know the higher hierarchy of the NSFL are trying to change it now, but for now I'm talking about making it harsher. And yes, I know IRL football players can play up to 15 and more seasons, but I think the harsher regression may make things more fresh. Right now I see that the TPE whores might have themselves the 20+ season careers if they're would be ok with being a backup player in their last seasons. Hell, even I can go for 15+ seasons with the current TPE earning pace. Would be more interesting if we would see less of these long-livers and more players in general.

Like:

I like the twitter thing. I'm not using this because I'm too lazy even for this, but it doesn't means I don't like it. There a lot of guys who finds a time to write a 1000+ article. However, not everyone. So this is a good chance for more busy or more lazy people to still not having negative balance after taking a training. 600k is a fair price. 3 tweets = 3 TPE with a chance to get the 500k training without even tweeting in the fifth week after the first tweet. I'd call this a welfare type task - the welfare is a popular thing in the SBA/VHL/EFL leagues; the only difference is you got to write more than one word for tweeting which is also cool.

Added: I'd love to see this league reward more than 50% of the teams with a playoff spot. Having four teams out of 8 teams make it is at 50% and no league I know of does that. It would be more inclusive if they did do that as it would peak the interest of more members and allow them to stay interested in the highly contested seasons where there is parity. Would you rather have 6 teams players all vying for a championship or have half the league check out as soon as they are mathematically eliminated from postseason contention?

Removed: Remove the past awards of some of the Outlaws who gained them in years where ER cheated. Keep the championship trophy because that's unfair to the individuals who didn't cheat on those teams, but the individual trophy should be wiped from the record books. In my opinion the league hasn't done enough to punish those in question and anyone who has more than one multi is a bit strange and needs help. I remember being in that lockeroom and ER was a keener but he also was a tad annoying when it came to some of his interactions. I don't think we need to keep any reminder of him or his GM's awards around for record keeping.

Like: I do like the Sabercats and they are a great team for this league full of honest people. As far as I know (as I've done some snooping) we don't have any multi's or mass retirements happening right now and we should be rewarded with our own award called the "clean earning" award. Wouldn't it be nice to congratulate teams who did things without cheating instead of just punishing teams who did cheat? It's all about image and the NSFL does need to clean it up. So why not reward a team that is liked and respected like the Sabercats of San Jose.

Written: Write 1 thing that you would like added to the league, 1 thing that you would like removed, and 1 thing that you currently like. Each part requires 100 words to be written to receive credit for it.

What I would like to see added to this league is something along the lines of a weekly meeting. A designated one hour time slot on either discord or running thread on the main site where the entire community can earn participation TPE during the allotted time. This would give everyone an opportunity to get to know players from other teams and in our case another league. I feel this interaction would be good for the comraderie of the NSFL and help retain membership. All topics would be open for discussion, or specific topics could be the inspiration for themed community meetings. Having HO moderate or be involved might help with the league's connection to HO and give the community a sense of voice.

Removing the DSFL salary structure or salary cap is something that could help improve the development of the new members and recreated players. Having a set salary or maybe just a weekly allowance of TPE through training that requires just a simple claim could keep people active. Yes, they would be similar to those league wide activity checks, but would be designated for DSFL players only. Having the players utilize a salary earned also gets them familiar with the way purchasing works for the equipment. Having that familiarity will enable the new players a sense of confidence when building their player moving forward.

What I like about our league is the depth of knowledge by those veterans and newcomers alike. Their willingness to share information and grow the league is what has kept me involved, despite my own tremendous overload of real life commitments during the busiest time of the year. It's a pledge of mine, as a NSFL rookie, to pay forward the insight and generosity that has been shown me and allowed me to successfully manage a player career I would have had no desire to maintain. The structure and presentation of game days are also a feature I enjoy being a part of. The experience of seeing your players perform and getting real-time reactions from others who are also online viewing the game is invaluable feedback, providing some realism to an otherwise lackluster simulation.

Add:

Ok, firstly I would like to preface that I'm new and still in the DSFL so not sure how everything works on the site. But one thing I would add is team locker rooms. I don't know if they is in NSFL teams or other DSFL, but from my experience so far the only Locker Room I've been in is the rookie one. Which is good thing to be in, I do think each team should have their own locker room. Yes teams have discords, but not everyone has a discord or are willing to get one, so adding an locker room allows for discussion among teams on the forums. They will also let teams post their lineups for suggestions, where as discord is a little tough for that.

Change:

One thing I would change is the graphics grading. I'm not a huge fan of the current system, as from what I can tell it doesn't really encourages users to improve on their techniques, with each graphics getting the same payment. It also does really give much room for difference in graphics. If I make a decent looking sig for graphics, I get 600K for it, where as a user who spends 5 minutes in paint pasting random shit onto a render also gets 600K. To fix this I would possibly give it a 3 point option, 1 being your 5 minute paint sig, 2 being a decent photoshop sig or good paint sig, and 3 being a good photoshop sig.

Remove:

I think I'm with everyone else on this and am with removing the DSFL salary cap. Yes in theory it is a good idea, but punishes teams active teams, as they don't have the ability to pay any new players since they will be at the cap, and active teams helps with keeping new users active. Also getting rid of the DSFL cap allows teams to pay players they draft, instead of having to give players discount to keep them. Like for instance with me, I asked for 4M (?) on my contract, and was told the chance of me getting that was slim due to the salary cap, but taking away that, and draftees can get something like 4M for their contract without risking hurting teams..

Added: I’d like to see automatic updating added to the league. Of course, I don’t know how hard this would be, nor do I know how to set it up, but automatic updating would remove the human aspect of what is probably the most important non-simming job. This is a job that can easily cause a re-sim and can easily cause a lot of problems in the league, and while it hasn’t been too much of a problem lately, one bad update and the league could see some drama. By automating this system, and removing the human aspect of it, we should see smooth updating and what could be more frequent updating, as updates would be able to go in asap if the way to automatically update works as intended. This wouldn’t remove the updater position as a whole, instead it would just turn the position into one where the person is checking to make sure the person updating has done it right. (163 words)

Removed: RFA is the easiest thing to point to and say ok this should be removed. The Restricted Free Agent tag just leaves people forced into situations they don’t want to be in, and this is not a good system for a sim league like this. If people are not enjoying their time in the league, whether it’s because of the locker room, their team not performing well, or just not enjoying the league as a whole. Removing RFA allows people to get out of bad situations, and because of this people that otherwise didn’t enjoy themselves will now be able to enjoy the league by choosing where they go. (110 words)

Like: HO’s Attitude. Unlike other sim leagues, HO is able to keep their attitude in check when things happen. By keeping a level head, they are able to level better decisions, and while some decisions may take a little while it’s better for them to calmly discuss it and determine the best course of action over violent discussions on the forums. Having HO members who are able to keep their cool under a lot of pressure is a great thing, and while passion is great there’s a difference between passion and full on hate and idiocy. If HO is unable to keep their cool they’ll eventually falter, and if the league is to prosper we can’t have that sort of behavior towards the public. (123 words)

Add:
@Evok just told me that in the GOMHL you can get 8 TPE for an activity check. I think we should have that because I'm very lazy and I'm only doing this point task because @bovovovo is forcing me to do it. Apparently as a general manager I need to "set a good example for my team" and "get off my ass and actually do something" I liked it better when I was on holiday in Europe and I could hang out on discord when I had a moment but I had a good excuse for not doing any work. (100 words on the dot boom)

Change:
The fucking Hawks logo oh my god. I honestly can't believe this thing is still around after I left for two months. The colour is god awful and the logo itself is more pixelated than Super Mario (thanks bovo). I would be embarrassed to play for this team if that was my logo and it ruins the overall look of the site. I'm glad that some of the rule proposals this season are to do with regulating rebrands/relocations in order to make uphold the aesthetic integrity of the league. I think the Hawks should be forced to rebrand immediately as it detracts from the entire league having an eyesore like that around. I've gone inactive in the EFL but that is one thing they had done pretty well was having nice logos and coherent themes to the teams. (139 words that's a big one)

Like:
I really like the community. There is a whole lot of drama and people blowing up at the tiniest things which is hilarious but the only reason I'm still around is because of the cool people all around the league. After coming in hot my first season or two I started to get disheartened that my work wasn't really showing on the field with results. That's why I've backed off a bit and don't get every single TPE available like I used to. I'm a bit more interested in the team building aspect which helps as I can focus on team success instead of my players personal stats. After starting to turn my team around before leaving for holiday and shit hitting the fan I'm excited to start the rebuild again this time with bovo at my side who used to be one of those guys I considered a friend from a different team. Thats the big thing I like is even though we want to beat each other there is people I am friends with in every team in this league and I hope to be able to collaborate with all of them in some form throughout my time here. As real life starts to become more busy for me I might have to step back from my activity on the site but the community is what will keep me involved in whatever way. I'll always pop in on discord to chat shit and generally see what the NSFL is up to. (253 words of love)

(S5) - Special PT - Changes - dropbear - 01-31-2018

Add
One thing I would like added to the league is a way to increase the frequency of interactions on the main forum (here). I remember when the league first started, Baller had concerns about using Discord as it would divert players away from the site. I love having Discord as a way of chatting in real time, but I also feel like once I've completed TPE tasks and checked scores, I have no reason to be on this site. It's like a ghost town and I wish there were more things I could do here. The media section is good, but after a while you realise you're basically talking to a brick wall, and writing for the money becomes tedious. If there was some way to increase on-site interaction, increase the benefits of being active here more often, and tie it all into TPE/cash earnings, that would be amazing! I am still trying to think of what exactly that could be, but it is the 'hole' in the the leauge that I'd like filled.

Remove
I agree with a previous poster that time in the league for regression purposes should not count time spent in the DSFL. People don't treat it like the 'real' league, so putting in hardwork for near 2 seasons, just to lose 2 seasons off the life of your eventual NSFL career is really offputting.

Keep
The awards and all-pro teams, hall of fame, etc. For players on teams like the Sabercats, who have never made the playoffs, it can be pretty dejecting putting in the work to get TPE and improve your player, only to have little to no payoff. While this is true to real life, we also aren't getting paid millions of (real) dollars, so it does make it difficult to maintain the commitment necessary to be successful in this league. Having the awards and other ways of identifyng dominant players is a great way for players from any team to gain recognition, and feel like the work they're putting in is getting them somwehere.

Added
There is nothing wrong with the offseason but I think we should do something fun for like extra TPE like some type of player tournament. I remember when I first signed up there was an offseason backyard game where everyone signed up and could play whatever position they wanted for the game. I don't know why they stopped this but this was something pretty cool and thought they should bring it back or some type of games played during the offseason too keep members active in the offseason. If not a game then if possible skill games in the pro bowl like they do in real life like dodgeball, best hands, etc. (112 Words)

Removed
I think the DSFL TPE max should be removed it is honestly dumb. If I were to recreate right now with a position that is not needed like QB I would be stuck in the DSFL for 3 or more seasons in that time I will have past the 250 TPE but can't apply anymore until I get drafted which could take a while. Removing this will also keep players doing their TPE as they know they can be a 400 or so TPE player in the DSFL and dominate those who don't keep up and it will keep them from getting lazy with PTs. Also applying all the TPE once drafted would be very tedious. (116 Words)

Like
One thing I like is the active community, the discord is always fun as there is always something to talk about, the locker rooms are where friends are made which has kept me in OCO as they are some wonderful teammates, and the fact that someone actually takes the time to sim games live on twitch makes the league more in depth than just looking at posted stats after a game. The many things in this league keep it fun like getting drafted and trying to make the pro bowl makes me want to grind out PTs and become the best player. (102 Words)

(S5) - Special PT - Changes - TheWoZy - 02-06-2018

ADD
The offseason is the worst moment in every sim league but some of them are able keep the fun. In the hockey sim league, there's the International tournament during the offseason which keep the users very active after the playoffs. I would like to see some sort of tournament during the offseason in the NSFL. It could be a Fantasy draft tournament. We could have a certain number of captain and they draft every player in the NSFL and DSFL. The winners of the tournament could receive some amount of money. I think it will keep the users active and make this sim league more exciting.

REMOVE
The DSFL is an interesting league but we have a big issue right now. A team full of bots has won the championship last week which is very bad for the community. If I was a new user and I would lose against the bots, I would be very disappointed. It's true that we need a developing league for the new players and we don't have enough room for everyone in the NSFL but I feel it's too early to have that many teams in the DSFL. Inactive players should be removed in my opinion. Active players should be playing over the inactive players even if they have less TPE.

KEEP
The stream is a very fun moment. Obviously, the sim isn't great and we are only watching dots moving around but it's still funny to see the actions, the big catches by the receivers and of course the sacks which is very exciting for the chat. Everyone goes crazy in the chat and I love it. I also love seeing people live reaction to an upset. I remember the first sim of the Outlaws and Otters game in the AFSC championship this season. The Otters players reaction were priceless while the Outlaws fans were going crazy in the stream and it was a lot of fun!

(S5) - Special PT - Changes - JuOSu - 02-07-2018

Something I would love to have added would be an easier way to track players. Right now, as it is, much of the information is spread in different places. You can find TPE in one place, their build perhaps in the same, statistics in the index, contract somewhere hidden in the financial area, bank account elsewhere. It becomes a hassle to run around and try to find all the information one might be curious about and need. Having more of that in a more user friendly way, would be really fantastic. I think this would be easily implemented too, with a little subforum with a player's entire information.

One thing I don't like is the way the DSFL is handled and how frustrating that can be for new users. I get that not everybody can start in the NSFL right away and maybe some users truly enjoy the DSFL but I feel like it also causes some disconnect. I've talked with users before who felt kinda stuck in the DSFL and who struggled to feel connected to 90% of the league because they just were not part of the NSFL yet. With how many users go inactive over time, that first disconnect can be crucial. I think user retention is the number one issue in any sim league, so that is my advice.

Something I really like is the ability to look at statistics in a historical sense. The index has great historical stats and being able to see the entire league's history is fantastic. I would still love to see that expanded too. Statistics and history is what we are all here for, I believe. It is an important thing to all of us. Personally, I would love to have someone whose responsible was just the historical statistics section of the index and presenting that in a nice manner in the forum. But even just being able to see the career top ten leaders in any category on the index is really fun!
