(S9) - PT 2 - Expectations - Durden - 07-20-2018

I really expect my player to have a similar season to last year. Last year I won Offensive Rookie of the Year which is great, but I feel like my performance won't increase that much this season. It's not that I don't think I've improved, but now I have a rookie quarterback throwing me the ball instead of a veteran all star. No knocks against him, I'm just trying to think realistically.

I'm disappointed so far in my play but again, is it me or a new QB? Or, is the scheme we're running? I never know. I don't think anyone knows for sure. I'm just going out there and working hard to do my job and be the best wide receiver that I can be.

The team on the other hand is in losing mode. We're not built to win now, we're built to win a lot, but later. I don't know how I feel about it. I wanna be on a powerhouse and put up great numbers, so I'm hoping the growing pains are worth it. I don't know how I'd fare on a powerhouse now, while I'm still young. Do I wanna peak when my team peaks?

I guess the answer is that I just have to be good, all the time. Forever.

The New Orleans Second Line stand not far from a fork in the road. On one side is glory, commemoration and victory. On the other is disappointment, failure and obscurity.

Last year’s Ultimus runners-up come into this season with a lot of familiar faces. Their only new starters are kicker/punter Iyah Blewitt and defensive end Jayce Tuck, a veteran free agent. Their younger players, such as Will Harrison have another year of experience under their belt. Borkus Maximus III is still in his prime as a passer. Coming off of a season where they surprised a few people by shocking Orange County in the first round of the playoffs, anything less than a championship will be a disappointment.

Indeed, the pressure is truly on, as many of NOLA’s key players are S1, S2 or S3 draftees, fighting an uphill battle against father time. If they are unable to get to the big dance this year, and if they get there and fail to bring home some hardware, it would seem that the path will only become harder.

Through two weeks, they led the league in points for and were second in points against. They’ll need to keep doing that, if they want to live up to the pressure of their closing window.

Right now all of the hopes and dreams of Lucari Felix are just to try and break the interceptions record for the season. While he may not have the most yet, he is aiming to make that his main goal for the foreseeable future. He knows that it can be kinda selfish but it's alright to be selfish every once in awhile so he wanted to take this opportunity that decided to present itself and make something out of it. He does know that this is a reach and kind of a high goal to set in place but he is very confident in his skills. This would not only be huge for him, but it could also mean big things in his future as it sets a tone for his career. He wants to be known as the best cornerback to have ever stepped foot on a field in the NSFL and he has the drive to do so. He wants to shut down opposing wide receivers, he wants to grab interceptions like it's his job and he just wants to be the best all around. If he can start showing why he will be a future superstar in this league, it will go a long way for him when draft night comes.

With time running out on his career and no individual hardware to show for it, Alexandre LeClair’s only shot at eternal glory is winning the Ultimus Cup. Old age had been kind to LeClair so far, with the French Canadian wide receiver having his best season last year, with 14 touchdowns, it had been made clear to him that he would be slotting in as the 3rd Wide Receiver on the team this season, with the younger Budda Browning taking his spot at 2nd WR. This did not deter LeClair from re-signing in Baltimore for one more season and possibly one last attempt at the Ultimus with this franchise.

Another possible but more of a “stretch” goal this season, would be to make it into the Pro Bowl once more. Having not missed a nomination to the Pro Bowl since S5, LeClair has a total of 6 appearances, including 1 on the ASFC and 5 on the NSFC and on 3 different teams. Not many players in the league can say that they have manages that with different offensive lines like him.

Ultimately, this is a season where LeClair will be working for the team and not for his own personal stat line, with the goal being a championship ring. Anything less would be a failure on all fronts.

(S9) - PT 2 - Expectations - AW13 - 07-21-2018

Individual Expectations:
For myself and my play I hope to be as consistent as possible and not end up like one of the garbage quarterbacks that have come and gone from this league. My expectation is that I will have a positive TD/INT ratio and throw more touchdowns than I throw interceptions. With that, I also hope to limit turnovers also whether it be fumbles or interceptions, the former, a problem so far in the early season. I hope in the end I will be player of the year in the DFSL with my versatility in leading this Python offense.

Team Expectations:
With the above player expectations, I believe if I can be great or even good, this team can go a long way. This team is amazingly talented on offense and defense and should be a force to be reckoned with. I believe the team expectation should be to go to the Ultimini for sure and I expect to win it also but making it should be something that is easily in reach. The team is too talented to not be successful and we should be the best team in the west.

Game expectations:
More of a goal than anything but I expect to be able to use my versatility with this offense. My goal/expectation is to be able to have a game where I throw for 200 yards and rush for 100 yards. I believe this is a reasonable expectation given my skills and the way the team will use me.

Is it too much to expect a repeat performance of pure unalderated skill that is Darren Smallwood? Probably. Last season, with four awards, was more a fluke than a reality. So let’s go to my real goal, a good season, which im on pace for, a record, which I am on pace for, and a strong ability to help the second line win the championship this season. I do not think that is asking too much. Now how to achieve it is hard to do, as Wide Reciever, the stats meant something, but by TPE, I am outperforming mack and diaz in every single category, yet they’re outperforming me in the results. At this point I would say I am surprised but I think Timeconsumer is right, RBs have no impact by TPE. So here I am wondering how I can actually impact the team, I guess if teams have to plan for me, that works. So how do I do that? Well, for starts, gotta get my speed back to 100, do that by actually doing point tasks again (fuck) and then praying it’ll work. Speed is still the top thing, and while I am sure that 98 was good for last week and 99 was good for this week, gotta get that 100 back.
