Johnny Snuggles is happy as a cornerback. Granted, that’s a position that rarely receives attention from the public and very few accolades, but massively important to the success of their team. Me personally, I’ve already done a couple seasons and a majority of a career as a running back where I saw some success, but there’s one position that really calls to me. The mortal enemy of the cornerback, the rock stars of the NSFL, the position of wide receiver. Despite the fact that a few running backs have had some relative success, everyone and their mother knows that the NSFL is a pass first league. The Orange County Otters are a prime example of this. Since season 3, the Otters have been a pass first team, throwing the ball up to 75% of their offensive plays, and having fantastic success with it. Add in the fact that running the ball is slow-moving and tends to score less points, it’s no wonder that teams are always looking for the next big thing at wide receiver. As a cornerback, the transition would be fairly simple for Snuggles as the positions have many of the same requirements (great speed and hands) and he has plenty of experience lining up against them. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll see Snuggles on the other side of the ball some day.

See this is a tough one for me because I just created a new position a week ago so I made exactly what I wanted to play. I guess if I were to make a new, new player I would probably go with a pure man-to-man corner. I would want to do kick and punt returns and play corner while also playing around in free agency a little bit to try and get some good deals or try some new teams. It could be really fun to do something that I haven't done in sim leagues before by checking out to see what sort of offerings are out there in free agency. I am also intrigued by being a tight end but there is still something about playing a super high demand position like corner that every team is willing to pay big money for and you aren't trying to fight for playing time vs other older guys. Maybe after I retire Cooter Bigsby in 2 years I can look forward to playing a cornerback and I hope by then we have started using a new sim engine because DDSPF is pretty balls sometimes. OOTP Football coming soon? Sure thing bud, in your dreams.
