Like many of my peers, I feel like the Great North needs another team. Why not the beautiful sea side city of Victoria? My proposal is for the:

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Victoria Regents[/div]

The Regents would play in the backdrop of the parliament buildings around the inner harbour. Our mascot would be the Queen of England herself. Once she passes away her successor will become the mascot. The colour scheme of course would be a royal purple and yellow, with the symbol being a crown or a scepter. The fans would create a soccer type atmosphere, with riots after every game, win or lose. One of the last harbours of British culture in Canada would finally get a team that suits their needs.

This market would of course also draw fans from Vancouver and Seattle, finally giving the Pacific Northwest a high level team worth watching. No longer do the sports fans have to toil in watching the failed legacies of the Canucks, the Mariners, and the much maligned Super Sonics (RIP). Also, with Portland right across the ferry and down the road, it will make for an easy pipeline for PNW talent. The PNW has long yearned for a NSFL team, and with the Regents, they finally get one!

I pick the Austin Artichokes as my team name. The reason I pick Austin is that I attend the University of Texas and so have my players so far. This would just make logical sense to do. We would be located slightly south of the main city and would have lots of people come every week. Why the artichokes? I choose the artichokes because when people order a pizza, nobody thinks about them. Nobody thinks they're the best, but when people like them, they love them. I think the Artichokes would be a team name that invites fans, but only ones that really mess with the vision. It would also attract players that mess with the vision. As far as for naming the stadium, Jaylon Lee would be starting the franchise, so it would only make sense to name it the Jaylon Lee Southwest Airlines Stadium. Obviously Jaylon Lee is one of the greats, so the name does him justice, and Southwest Airlines was started in Austin so that also makes sense. It is only logical to name it after one of the greats from the University of Texas and after one of the greatest companies to ever base out of Austin Texas.

With expansion on the horizon, I think it's only appropriate if the Canadians of the league get some love. Everyone rags on Yellowknife for being in a desolate wasteland and a brutal climate than no one wants to play in. Well, sucks for everyone else. Yellowknife has the coolest jerseys as well as the coolest stadium. Big fan of the logo as well. Who cares about a little cold. That's called home field advantage. So with that in mind, I would love to see a team be based in the Toronto area. It has the population to support another team and still provides that icy climate that the warm weathered teams would hate to play against. As for a mascot and logo, the Yeti have taken the snow based mascot away, so something Canadian would be good. Something like the Toronto Mounties, the Kitchener Canadian Geese, or possibly the Mississauga Lumberjacks. I think the colour scheme for any of those teams could be similar. I was thinking a dark grey with gold or brown accents across their jerseys. Imagine a Mounties jersey with Red up top with brown accents in the pants. That would be tight. Main point, I think there's enough Canadians here to earn another Canadian team.

If I were going to be in charge of picking a city to expand the NSFL to, and the branding of it, I think I would take the NSFL international and put some American football in foggy London town.

London Golden Eagles

I would want them to skip the more traditional look of the NSFL logos and instead have a crest like soccer clubs.

The color scheme would be purple (to represent British royalty) and gold.

This would be a team that loved to play tough defense and run the ball down your throat. Really take advantage of the wet London weather. Get some jerseys dirty.

I love the idea of London fans having intricate cheers and songs they sing about their team or the visiting team. I imagine them sharing Fulham United's stadium, Craven Cottage. Shahid Khan will have grown weary of owning the Jaguars and instead taken over this expansion team for the NSFL. So it only makes sense that they would share a stadium with his English soccer club.

The idea of taking NSFL overseas and showing the world what kind of product we are putting on the field each and every week sounds like an awesome idea to me. I'd love to see us get to that point in the future.

With such a historic draft class, it’s no surprise that we’re on the cusp of a great expansion opportunity. If I had a chance to create a brand new franchise, I’d go off the beaten path and try an international location in an unexpected place: Beijing, China. That’s right…I think the NSFL should take a global approach to spread the amazing American football game that we have to a whole new scale. With only one team in Canada, this is a great chance to tap into new markets. The Beijing Flying Tigers would a brand new concept in a non-American market and completely unique. The mascot would be a tiger with wings flying through the sky with the team logo and words ‘Beijing Flying Tigers’. The team could play where the Olympic Stadium was built and it would be big enough to hold a great crowd for every game. They would probably have the worst travel schedule of any team, but that’s not a big deal since they’ll have their own private jet. Other teams will have to deal with the travel and time zone shift so hopefully that gives the Beijing Flying Tigers team an advantage when it comes to game time.

for my custom franchise, I am going to create the Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen. The reason why I want to make a custom franchise that is named the Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen is because the Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen has a special spunk to it. I mean, think about it. Every team will quake in their boots when they see the Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen face off against them. They'll look at the calendar and just write it off as a loss. The Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen would feature @White Cornerback's newly recreated Dermot Lavelle Jr., who would instantly become the face of the franchise and the franchise would even decide to make him the logo, his face being the picture plastered over all Northern Ireland Potato and Milkmen merchandise. It would be a great idea, and the league would absolutely love it. In fact, Ryan Leaf Jr., bona fide expansion expert even said he like the idea (pics or it didn't happen, i know, but i don't have picks but trust me it did happen) which means it is 100% a great design and a great idea and that it will be foolproof as a great way to become a great team for a great long time in the NSFL.

The first step I took when trying to come up with an expansion team idea was to decide on a location. I noticed that an area that is underrepresented by the current teams is the Midwest. There are no Midwestern NSFL teams and the Kansas City Coyotes are the only DSFL team in the Midwest. Looking at the Midwest, the largest city is Chicago and they would make sense as they have a good history of supporting sports teams. Chicago even previously had representation in the DSFL, so it could make sense as a location for NSFL expansion. In terms of a mascot, I looked up the state animal of Illinois and it was the white-tailed deer. This would make sense for the location and would fit well in the NSFL since there aren't any other deer based mascots, so it would be unique. So the name that I came up with was the Chicago Stags. For the color scheme, I like the idea of choosing a color scheme that matches up with an existing NFL team because that makes it easy for graphical purposes and for choosing pictures for articles. The color scheme I decided on was navy and red. It would fit nicely since there aren't any NSFL teams with navy as a primary color and the navy and red color scheme fits with both the New England Patriots and the Houston Texans so it would work nicely for graphical purposes. I think the Chicago Stags would fit well among the current NSFL teams and could be a cool idea for an expansion team.

This one is an easy one. Now, my primary choice would be Honolulu. However, that was not my idea, just one that I heard and I really liked it. Now, if we're gonna make a Western island expansion its only right to pair it up with an Eastern one. Therefore, there's only one reasonable choice:

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The Puerto Rico Pirates[/div]

So, why Puerto Rico? Well I basically already said why. But if you need more reasons, well, here you go. Puerto Rico has a population of over 3M, which is nice. Unlike other big Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico is pretty dense, you can pretty much get anywhere within 3 hours, which means we can call upon the full population of the island for fans. It is also a US Protectorate, which means that while travel could be longer, it will be a lot more simple without international borders.

The team would be based in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico and the most populated city. Our stadium would be Rivera Stadium, named this way because it would be funded by Ron Rivera, the first player of Puerto Rican descent to play in the NFL.

Why the Pirates? Hello? Do you know how many memes we could make with Jack Sparrow? This would literally be the Pirates of the Caribbean!!
