(S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - JuOSu - 05-17-2019 The amazing feeling of receiving a big signing bonus! What a great day in our lives, where we get rewarded for our big actions and hard work. Sadly, my contract is very low, only 500k which is still a lot of money but barely anything compared to some of the other contracts here in this league. I think first and foremost, I will save the money so I can continue to buy the awesome equipment available in this league, plus weekly training to be able to improve further as a player and improve myself enough that eventually I can become a great player in this league. I would also love to live comfortably, a nice apartment or house to live in with some cool features like maybe a game room to play games in. That new Super Mario Maker game looks awesome so I need a big TV to play on. Maybe some travel time in the offseason, see some of the world that I haven't seen yet or not in a while, like going to Ireland or maybe San Francisco. Maybe I have some money left to give to my parents who helped me tremendously in my journey to get to the top of where I belong. (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - Tomasnz - 05-17-2019 Peter Larson is no stranger to big money checks having been drafted into the SHL minor league. However the size of his rookie package for the San Antonio Marshalls blew him away. 5 mil! Insane! Although he can already see that the costs and upkeep are more expensive for a football prospect than a hockey one. Training and equipment expenses aside Peter knows the first thing he needs is a place to live. It needs to big suitably sized for visiting friends and his Danish family to be able to stay and most importantly have a good living-dining-outdoor flow for the inevitable BBQ and eating events that come with such visits. The place he found is a beautiful four bedroom two story villa with a small enclosed yard, in Edison, northwest San Antonio. Close to the San Antonio River walk which Peter is hoping to make his running route. Close to the university stadium for game days but maybe a little further from the training grounds. That was always going to be a tension for Peter wanting to live close enough to the cultural centre of the city without adding too much commute to his day. The blisfully easy run to the airport is perfect though. So place sorted, maybe the yard is a little smaller than what he was used to in anchorage, but the first floor living spaces more than make up for it. Last thing to buy then for now, cause Peter knows this going to be a pit stop only for his career so no need for much more... But he does need a truck. He's loved his nissan pathfinder in Alaska, but feels it's time to see how good the competition is. Bamn, the Toyota Hilux, four door with tray cover, navy blue, with a white stripe. That will do then, now to just wait for his mum and some of his mates to arrive from around the country and he can show off the his new winter home with a welcome BBQ. Still money in the bank but Peter knows what's important. (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - infinitempg - 05-17-2019 Getting that first professional contract is really like a dream come true - all my life I've been playing this sport for fun, the idea of getting paid to have fun is incredible. The general managers over at Portland were very generous and gave me a contract of $5 Million! I don't even know what to do with all that money... First thing I'll probably do is pay off some of my college loans. Being a walk on means that I didn't get any scholarship money for three years, that stuff is expensive, dude. But this means I can get that out of the way right away! Next thing I'll do is buy myself a nicer car. I've been using the same hand-me-down car since high school, so I'll probably hand it down to the next cousin or whatever and get myself a nice electric car! After that I'll probably buy my family some gifts or Pythons swag, get them some tickets to games, and then maybe invest some in the stock market to get a nice nest egg going. Who knows, honestly. I've been getting some sponsorship offers that would also really help money-wise, but I'm not sure I need too much extra money. He was the first overall pick in the draft and signed a fat contract worth $15 million over three seasons. But after two seasons over living a life full of luxury and excess in beautiful Yellowknife (capital of the Northern Territories), Johnny decided that that just wasn’t how he wanted to live anymore. He called up the recently hired co-GM and let him know that he would be rejecting the final year of his rookie and contract and signing… a pay cut? That’s right, he took a pay cut without anyone asking. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “What kind of mental defect is this man operating with?” Well, truth be told, he just didn’t know what to spend the money on. He set his family up with some nice homes, has a solid nest egg for the future kiddos, and built himself a snuggle room (get your mind out of the gutter, it’s a room with very plush carpet on both the floor and walls and filled with fuzzy blankets and pillows). Add to the fact that he’s been strictly living off of his endorsement money for the past year, and he just didn’t see the need. The team can use that money elsewhere on the path to making the Wraiths spooky again. (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - Vedin - 05-17-2019 When people heard the name Jacob Rowan most of them said "who?" or "is that a real person" but that doesn't bother Jacob, he don't want be the big star of the team. And that showed after he didn't buy anything with his new bonus. Because what could he buy that was useful for him. He knew he was gonna stay in Tijuana atleast another season so there was no reason for him to buy a new house in Baltimore and his house in Tijuana really started to get comfortable so he didn't want to buy a new house in Tijuana either He didn't buy a thing per say, he hopped on a plane and went back to Boston to meet with all his relatives and go back to his old high school and relive the good and bad memories he had from school. He stayed there for a bit and also helped relatives who had financial troubles. Ever since he came back home he has been awfully quiet and haven't spent any money, actually it looks like become more cheap after he got his new bonus. Jacob later said that he is staring to save some money in case anything happens, like if he needs to retire early for example. He let himself "loose" after a week or so. Jacob started to hang with his friends and go out to clubs and partying. This was very uncharacteristic of him but i guess you can't sit at home forever. Jacob said that one night in downtown Tijuana he got sooo drunk that he somehow ended up in some place called Hemosillo. When we asked him how he got there he replied with "Pfffffttttttt, i have no idea to be honest. Maybe God knows althoug i hope not". It was easy to say that was the end for Jacob's partying days. The backlash of his drinking and partying was the weight he gained. But then he got back on his feet and started working out again and looking, kind of healthy. I mean he is still the size of Saturn but he is looking better atleast. (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - PigSnout - 05-18-2019 (PT Pass) (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - SwagSloth - 05-18-2019 Andrew Reese is not a man that craves a large contract. Of course, some would say he doesn't deserve one based on his performance last season, but fortunately for him, he is a humble man. As far as the way he spends his money, he likes to save and avoid going overboard. He owns a decent car and house, but hardly dabbles in the sports cars and mansions that many athletes spend their money on. He's already dealt with several injuries and he knows that this life doesn't last forever, so you have to be careful with the way you spend your money. One thing Reese does believe in, though, is giving back to his community. He is active with charities in both Phoenix, AZ and his hometown of Indianapolis, IN. He also works with several national organizations to spread awareness and increase outreach. Reese doesn't just donate his time, but he also donates his money, working with local groups to match donations and fund prize drawings that bring in additional donations. He wants to set an example with the way he lives his life and the way that an athlete uses their money is a big part of that. Of course, there's also a room in Reese's house filled with expensive and rare additions to his FUNKO POP collection, but he's not one to brag about such things. 227 Words (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - WALDO - 05-18-2019 idk if i already posted here but i’ll do it again just in case https://sba.today/forums/index.php?/topic/3...bout-sba-teams/ (S15) - PT1 - Signing Bonus - Leafer - 05-18-2019 http://probaseballexperience.jcink.net/ind...=60&#entry79063 |
