(S15) PT 2 - Absolute Power - SouljaBoy2007 - 05-25-2019 I don't know what happened to SwagSloth but for some reason I'm his first choice for backup GM. I personally love this Arizona team and all my teammates so I won't be trading any current players or cutting anybody. The first thing I would do as GM is restructure my contract so that it's just 1 million per year so that I can free up just a little bit of cap space. I make enough money from endorsements and other ventures that I don't need the contract money. The next step is trying to make a trade up with either Colorado or NOLA to swap first rounders in hopes of picking up Dermot Lavelle Jr. or Wolfie McDummy with a top 2 pick. When doing this I would definitely avoid using the picks in the Season 17 draft, as some people believe that that class will be a very strong class with a bunch of guys who could make a difference. After that there's not much I could do with the Outlaws, so I'd probably make a few call and see if I can convince the Yeti to get a better logo because my god is theirs awful. I think making these few changes would be good enough that when SwagSloth gets back he won't be disappointed in me. SwagSloth is nowhere to be found; seems like last night’s dinner wasn't that good for him. After giving a look around his office, Lucas Knight finds a note on his desk that reads “taking a break, won't be long before I come back. Knight, you're in charge”. The first thing that comes to Lucas’ mind is the question why me? But after a brief thinking he decides that he's going to enjoy his temporary GM role and comes up with a plan: a) Time for a relocation: Knight thinks the team has run its course in the hot desert, why not go to a nice weather location with a beach like San Francisco or Honolulu. That kind of places will boost the team confidence for sure. b) A couple of changes to the playbook: even though the team is doing mostly fine, some adjustments doesn't hurt. So let's begin with making the TE more involved in the offense. Irving is a talented player, he needs to be used more as a redzone weapon. Also, Landers could be great for trick plays since he's a former QB. On defense, there's a lack of safety blitz and McKinnie plus Mack are more than capable of chasing the QBs. c) Draft capital: the team invested heavily in the past draft and for the S16 Draft there's no 1st round pick; it's time to make some inquiries with Colorado or NOLA to see what is their price for one of their 1st or 2nd round picks. d) Day off: surely, all the hard work everyone makes deserves a nice reward. Knight will make sure that all of his teammates get a day for themselves after watching them training all day long. Hopefully, when SwagSloth returns the team isn't a mess thanks to Knight’s crazy ideas. If I were in absolute control of the Baltimore Hawks, the first thing I’d do is trade away slm because he’s a big poopy head and deserves to play on a bottom tier team like the Colorado Yeti or the New Orleans Second Line. I’d try to get some picks for him or maybe an active defensive lineman to shore that up since we don’t really need slm. Then I’d start calling all the other GMs about trading away our future picks to try to get their other defensive linemen. Finally, I’d trade Asipi because he’s outshining Axel Hornbacher in the Baltimore secondary and I’m mad jealous of his amazing stats despite not showing up to practice for several weeks now while Axel is diligently working on becoming the best corner in the league. I figure I could get a couple early round picks for Asipi easy and he’d net us a good haul. I also secretly hope his stats tank on his new team after trading him away! Bwahahahaha! That’s what I would do as GM for a day. (S15) PT 2 - Absolute Power - AlexF - 05-26-2019 I’m pretty new to the NSFL so I won’t get into many specifics. I’m also only currently a member of a DSFL team, the Portland Pythons. In this hypothetical I’ll be discussing the strategy I would use were I to take over as GM of a team. In real life I’ve always been a huge fan of run first offenses and hard nosed defenses, so my team would employ those same strategies. With how prevalent speed is in this league, I would likely run a 46 defense, but would try to use more safeties than linebackers if I could draft or handle free agency correctly. This would allow us to shut down the run easily and still be able to cover receivers with Tyrann Matheiu type players roaming center field. I’d build the offense like the 2000’s Baltimore Ravens. I would prioritize speed for wide receivers the most, as they would be used primarily over the top. As for tight ends I would prioritize guys who good hands and run blocking. Tight ends are essential to any run first offense. Obviously at running back we would go power. And we would look for a high intelligence and high arm power quarterback. I haven’t played the game that we sim in at all so whether or not these strategies would work is a mystery to me, but I would do what I could to stick to my guns. (S15) PT 2 - Absolute Power - TheWoZy - 05-26-2019 PBE (S15) PT 2 - Absolute Power - White Cornerback - 05-26-2019 Of course if I was in charge of the Yellowknife Wraiths I would do the following: - Keep the wraiths in Yellowknife. Fuck all of you pricks who keep saying to move the team to somewhere more generic you bunch of cunts. None of y'all aint never been on the team, especially not during the forming years of S1 - S8 before we actually won a ring. The team must stay in Yellowknife, it's got history. It's in the fucking middle of nowhere and we put it on the map with that championship win when all hope was lost. - Give Ryan Leaf Jr. a raise. It's a no-brainer. Leaf's clearly struggling for cash and unfortunately for his debtors and Leaf himself, all media he creates is limited to within 140 characters, similar to that of the old Twitter system. If we can get Leaf Jr. more cash, he can perform better on the field in the DSFL and eventually when he makes the jump to the NSFL. - Finally, the very last thing I would do if I had absolute power would of course be to fire that idiot current GM, Don Gruden. This man is systematically destroying the sacred history that Yellowknife has with his boneheaded moves. I believe he should definetly be fired, what a frickin moron idiot fool. I will seize power over the organization and implement multiple changes. Step 1. Declare myself to be emperor of the franchise who has absolute power and will serve until I decide otherwise and fire all non essential employees who may challenge me for power. Step 2. Move the team to Memphis, Tennessee and re-brand to be the Memphis Pharoahs and buy the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid to serve as the new team facility. Step 3. Restructure my contract to be 30/30/35/35/40 million for 5 years. Step 4. Figure out the current state of the roster. If the roster can win now, release/trade all non-starters to make room for signing established talent to fill any holes on the roster. If the roster needs a lot more talent, trade away all non-essential players for draft picks and focus on creating a dominant defense led by the secondary and a competent run game with a quarterback that takes care of the ball. Sign inactive offensive players to a minimum contract if needed to save salary cap room. |
