The best part about opening day is really seeing how your player’s huge offseason updates affect how they play. You put in a lot of work for things throughout the offseason, and when you get to add all of the TPE from the offseason (training camp, new equipment, a couple of weeks of activity checks and weekly trainings, plus some things like the mock drafts, ultimus week, and a few others), it’s the most dramatic gains your player will get, so its INCREDIBLY exciting to see just how much your player improved. I mean, assuming your idiot updater knows what they’re doing anyway. If they don’t, chances are you won’t have your correct build and all of your hard work will be lost for at least one game. And then before you know it, head office will realize that that is horrible and make the correct call to have your player updated properly and then sim. And then you’ll win and have a great game! But then other people will cry and bitch because they had good stats in the game that shouldn’t have counted, so head office will end up giving into the pressure of a loud few, and you’ll get your good game (that should’ve been fairly counted) and get it taken away from you. Yeah, opening day is awesome for all of that. (226)

There was a lot of confusion about week 1 and what the league would do about a lot of the issues. Either way, it was a great time as always and Arizona fans were out in full force. I didn't even manage to get a good warm-up in before the game because of the amount of kids leaning over the railing asking all of the players for signatures. I think I signed more things in that hour of warm-up time than I had in the last 5 years combined. They did the ring ceremony right after warm ups and I don't think I'll ever forget an arena of 50,000 people cheering for me as I accepted something that signified something I worked for my entire life. When we brought out the trophy, there was cheer that might have been louder than the cheer that came after Lucas tackled Vander Jones. The fans were great all throughout the game too, whenever we did anything they got super loud and it's great to see fans excited about you and what you do. My favorite part of the game however, throughout all of the fans and the fun of week 1, was when I got a big hit and celebrated then when I looked into the stands I saw my 2 year old sun cheering for me. It melted my heart to see my son excited about the game I love. I hope that Lamont Jr. gets into football so that I can pass down the tradition in my family. Overall, I ended up playing pretty well in week 1, my team got the win, I got to see my son having interest in football, and the fans were out in full force. You really can't ask for anything more in a football game.

New seasons often mark new opportunities and excitement for every team and player within the league. Tyron Brackenridge is no exception as he aims to play his first game and season in the NSFL with the San Jose SaberCats, who he figures have a chance to win it all this season. Tyron has also been named the started this season, which will provide himself the opportunity to prove his worth of being a high draft pick in this latest draft. New seasons also provide a chance for players to set their goals for the season, which Tyron has set fairly high for himself because of his ability and opportunity. Some of those goals include fifty tackles, five interceptions, and five sacks. Achieving all of these goals would prove the multi-faceted approach to the game that Tyron Brackenridge has and would be a great first step to possibly entering the Hall of Fame. Although all these personal goals are important it is ultimately the team success that will truly make Tyron proud of his play and his teammates. Ultimately winning the Ultimas would be the best, making the championship final with the SaberCats, whose "window had closed" would be one of the reasons that makes this team so great.

The best part about this particular opening season is it's the first opening season for Trae Bacon. The Portland Pythons are stacked this season, with Trae Bacon playing a pivotal role in a their strong defensive strategy. This is a chance for all the S18 rookies to prove themselves in the DSFL, and for Trae Bacon in particular to prove the entire first round of drafts as bad picks (except for Jay Cue).

There is a strong defensive class this year, which makes it even more exciting - instead of just focusing on the quarterbacks and skill positions, the big boys on the line are making the headlines. Bacon, Ironside, Kassel, Virtanen, Franchet, all of the big boys out there are ready to tear up some offenses that have been complacent for too long. Keeping track of sacks, tackles, and pass deflections for the season is going to be a lot of fun.

Most of all though, the Portland Python's trading strategy seems to be a "win now" strategy. They made some initially confusing trades but high value, made some very smart picks, and have a first class offense and a first class defense. Anything can happen this season in the DSFL, and I'm excited to see how the Pythons are going to capitalize on a strong draft - with a particularly strong round 2 steal (haha).

Quote:Written Option: It’s everyone’s favorite time of year, both in the NSFL and our counterpart NFL. What is your favorite thing about the beginning of a new season, whether it is your first year, you are a veteran, or you are just excited your team hasn’t lost yet. Write about what you are excited for or what your plans are for opening day as a fan or player.

The start of the season is an exciting time for everyone. Fans who get to go out again and cheer on their teams, facing a year of success or looking at a hard year to follow. Players who get to start playing for the prizes again. Coaches who after a long offseason of theorycrafting get to try and make it a reality. Owners who finally get that attendence money in again.

The start of the season means another season for Corvo Havran to go out there and prove himself. This time a sophomore quarterback in the big league, he will try and recover from a rookie season which didnt go without bumps and hitches. A Baltimore team who were looking for playoff glory fell short in the long run and that meant a long offseason.

This time around Havran aint having that and will be looking to bring the best of himself to the table and go to the playoffs with his team. He is excited about playing with new and old team mates alike, getting connections and clicks with his offensive partners in crime and hopefully to a better season than the previous one. With an extra year of experience under his belt that should be a feat achieveable by the young talent.
