S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - nunccoepi - 09-29-2019 Sit down with a fan: I interviewed @moonlight Sit down with a star: Moonlight interviewed me 1. What is the expectation in the Hawks locker room on how you guys can get back to the big game in S18? The expectations are as high as they have ever been in Baltimore. We know that we have bad luck at times. That made this loss particularly difficult, if I'm being honest. But that doesn't change anything for the future. Our future is the same after the loss as it would have been after the win. There's no reason we can't be back in the big game next season. 2. Are there any defensive beasts in the S18 draft that you hope to play alongside in a Hawks uniform? You know, I know that it's not very heads up of me, but I really haven't converned myself with the upcoming class. I see that as an off-season activity, and I know that our GMs (and now our new GMs) will be on top of it. They know our team needs, particularly on defense. We are used to having a couple of holes to fill each season so this one will be no different. 3. How are you dealing with an Ultimus loss against the Armstrong led Otters? I kind of already spoke to this, but I'd have to say that the fact that the Otters were led by Armstrong didn't mean much to us. We've seen the Otters plenty of times, even in the Ultimus, so we were pretty familiar, even with the crew of young guys we had. But we'll keep working to move ahead. 4. What steps does Havran have to take in order to reach the next step in his development to finally be better than Armstrong? Ooof. Well. I'm not sure he has much to do at all. S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - ADwyer87 - 09-29-2019 SHL PT 13) Sit-down with a fan:[/b] Written: Answer questions for an interview from a player that is not your own. You must answer at least four questions and at least three must relate to the league in some way. Link to the interviewers PT to receive credit. Written: Write about a Kicker in the playoffs, and how they will or did affect the outcome. I do love me some kickers, and in the playoffs sometimes kickers have a chance to make a big impact. So, I wanna look into some of the great kickers of this playoffs. For my article, I want to look at the three kickers who were perfect in this playoffs. All of them were teams who only played one game. Kulture Fulture was the only Butcher who managed to score some points in the wild card game. He had two kicks, a 43 yarder and a 28 yarder, and he sunk both of them. Neo Donaldson, the other losing wild card kicker, was perfect as well. He made his only extra point, and sunk his only field goal attempt, a 47 yarder and a 21 yarder. Lastly, we have the first kicker here who got out of the wild card game. Spencer Lawes made both extra point attempts, and a 25 yard field goal, all chip shots. However, what makes Lawes special is his other field goal attempt. He attempted the only field goal from 50 yards or more, kicking a 51 yarder as time expired in the second quarter. These perfect kickers may not have won, but you certainly cannot blame them for their teams struggles 20) Let’s get Wild!(card) Written: Write about a team in one of the wild card games from friday. Write about how they got robbed, or how they will win it all, or how they should have been the 1 seed. Baltimore started their Ultimus run in the wild card game, and much of this is because of them getting robbed thanks to playing down to their competition and tiebreaker weirdness. The Hawks should have been the #1 seed, and let me tell you why The first reason for this is how the Hawks lost two easy games that should have been Ws. It seems like Baltimore has a bad case of playing down to their competition. MVP Corvo Havran did not play like an MVP in a week 7 matchup against the Philadelphia Liberty. He threw 2 interceptions en route to a 21-13 loss, giving Philly only its second win of the season. With a chance to take the conference, the Hawks let last place New Orleans steamroll them on the ground to the tune of 192 rushing yards. If they had just closed it out against this bad team, they would have had the #1 spot The other reason is that they seemed to be the better team over most of the conference. The Wraiths only beat out the Hawks in points for and against, and passing yards. Meanwhile the Hawks only finished outside of the top two in the conference in points allowed, while finishing first in the entire league in many categories. If these were taken into account in the tiebreaker, we could have seen the Hawks taking a nice first round bye S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - SabaDonutMan - 09-30-2019 1) Playoff Review Usually, I would review the Ultimini as I am in the DSFL. However, because the playoffs were cancelled in the DSFL this season I will review the Ultimus instead. First, let's look at the rosters and see the key playmakers. We will start with the away team, the Orange County Otters. Their key playmaker on offense is rookie quarterback Franklin Armstrong. He didn’t have an amazing season but it wasn’t anything to complain about. Another key playmaker on the team is running back Apollo Reed. He had a really good season finishing first in rushing touchdowns with 11 and second in rushing yards with 1246. We can’t forget the Otters defense. They are lead by defensive monster Lanzer Grevious. Although he didn’t have the most tackles this season he did 4 sacks and 15 pass deflections. Finally, we have their best defensive back Gus T.T Showbiz. He had 4 interceptions on the season and 22 pass deflections. On the other side we have the Baltimore Hawks. Of course we have to start with their qb, an mvp candidate that goes by the name of Corvo Havran. He finished the season with 31 tds which is tied for most in the league and he finished with a 95.5 QBR rating which was the highest in the league. Their WR core is stacked with Errol Maddox and Sunnycursed who they acquired in the middle of the season from the Otters. I’m gonna finish off the Hawks by talking about one of their running backs who sucks. Dorfus Jimbo is a running back who sucks. Now onto the game. From the beginning, this game was a shootout with both teams scoring off of a passing touchdown in the first quarter. At the beginning of the second quarter the Hawks kicker, ForThe Brand, missed a 44 yard field goal which defined this quarter for the Hawks because they were not able to score for the rest of the first half. The Otters on the other hand were only able to score one touchdown in the second quarter off of a pass from Franklin Armstrong. In the 3rd quarter the Hawks tried to surge back into the game after scoring a touchdown and a field goal. The problem was that their defense was not able to stop Armstrong and the Otters defense. Armstrong drove down the field and threw for another touchdown making the score 21-17 in the Otters favor. However, the Otters put the game away with a final touchdown pass from Armstrong which essentially ended the game. The final score was 28-17 in an Otters win. 3) All About QBs You know what, let's go back to the Ultimus. As I talked about earlier the 2 quarterbacks in this game were Franklin Armstrong and Corvo Havran. Let's talk about their individual seasons. As stated before Armstrong had a good season for a rookie as it is not everyday that a rookie leads his team to the Ultimus. His stats weren’t amazing as his team decided to run the ball more to relieve some pressure off of a rookie quarterback. Havran though on the other hand did amazing. Although he wasn’t top 3 for passing yards and completion % he was top 3 for everything else. He was tied with Cooter Bigsby for most passing touchdowns with 31, he leads the league in QBR with 95.5. Now let's talk about this game. This game was very fun to watch as a fan of the NSFL. This was an absolute shootout where both QBs played amazing. However, I do believe that Franklin Armstrong performed better. Armstrong finished the game with 287 passing yards, 3 TDs, and a QBR of 135.9. Havran on the other hand finished the game with 376 passing yards, 2 TDs, and a QBR of 85.1. You may be asking, “Why do you think Armstrong did better even though he had less passing yards”. Well, you have to look at how many attempts each quarterback had. Havran had 52 passing attempts while Armstrong only had 27 passing attempts. In my opinion Armstrong outplayed Havran and that is why he walked away with the Ultimus Trophy. 12) Sit Down with a Start (Idkman) How does it feel reaching the Ultimini 2 years in a row? It feels great, some of the best players in the league never even reach an ultimini, yet I'm blessed enough to reach it in my first 2 seasons. I don't even think I'm getting carried as I have been a big factor to my team's success. I already won my first ultimini last year and hopefully I get another this year. It's a great achievement that some players never reach so I'm grateful Your facing the Pythons for the second year in a row. How do you feel about this amount of dominance by 2 teams? I think that 2 years in a row isn't necessarily a dominance, more of just a good period of time with good players/gms. In real life, the Patriots have a 10-year playoff streak with 3 super bowls. That's dominance. The pythons and Lucha Nation are great, however I think that all good teams usually don't die out quickly like that. However, I think that it is rarer to see bigger playoff runs, because the best DSFL players may get drafted/called up to their NSFL affiliates. However, just to say, I think that the outcome against the pythons will be similar to last year. Speaking of the Pythons, unlike last season they come with HFA and the better record. How does that affect the mindset going into the game? Well, we beat then last year, didn't we? Both teams have made quite a few changes but I still think we can squeeze out this win. Obviously they've technically been better in the regular season, and it'll obviously be very evenly matched as well. Even the regular season series was quite close as both teams split wins 1-1 and both games were decided by 1-2 possessions. This'll be just a game of who has the better team. HFA can help them a lot but they might be scared of us from last year, plus they've got this "Saba Donut" guy at GM. Never heard of him. Not like he has an Ultimini or anything, right? So that can't fare well for them. Our mindset is pretty much determination. We did it last year, and it might take a bit more work to pull it out again, however I think that most of us would agree that we are well able to beat these snakes at their home territory. Having already been to an ultimini does it feel any different going to your second? I mean, last year's ultimini was an amazing experience. It was my first year in the DSFL and already going to a championship was great. It was something I'd dreamed about my entire life and had watched my favorite players do over and over again, and I was finally on that big stage. Last year, it felt like a dream and something I'd never get to do in a lifetime. This year I've already had that experience but it still hasn't dawned on me how amazing it is to be there, not to mention twice, and also winning it two times, which is something that very, very few people can say. I knew what the atmosphere would be like. I knew that, no matter what, I'd be as nervous as I'd ever been so I should just play it out. And I guess that worked, right? But it was an awesome experience both times, completely mind blowing and something I would never have dreamed that I'd do in a million years. Who has been the biggest difference maker on and off the field? That's really hard to answer. I don't really have much on first thought, and in my opinion there's no biggest difference maker necessarily. Every single person on this team, or any team, helps us to win every time they step on the field. Maybe that CB who never gets a pick locks down his WRs so bad they never throw near him. Maybe that O-Lineman who never gets credit for a stat gives his QB extra time in the pocket to work magic. Maybe the fullback who seems useless on some plays turns a 3-yard loss into a 15-yard gain with a great block. These are the guys who never get accolades for their work. You don't see a lineman winning MVP, but they all contribute in a great way. I was blessed to have talent at a position where I get those explosive plays, I get those carries all the time and I get recognized for what I do. My numbers jump off the stat sheet because my position is more well-recognized. I guess what I'm saying is that, every single person on that field is a difference maker. Every member of the team makes plays. Even the GMs and team staff- without them, we wouldn't have a team. Back-to-back Ultiminis has to be something that they get recognized for right? It would be unfair to call 1 person out as a biggest difference maker or one who helps the team most, because without every player on this team, we wouldn't be where we are today. 13) Interview with a Fan (Buttersquach101) Having already been called up to the NSFL how has it been looking back down at the DSFL Playoffs? Well looking back on KCC it’s sad to see that they had the same exact result as last season but with people who are getting sent down we should be able to make a bigger impact in the next season. Any players who stood out to you? Well call me Biased but I’m gonna have to go for Maurice. The Linebacker off of Kansas City, he did extremely well for his duties and may even have a chance for dpoty in the DSFL. Do you think either PB or Norfolk will be able to sneak in next season? Playoffs I’m looking at PB. Their new gms made so many improvements in such a small amount of time and with who they got being sent down I really think they have a better shot than Norfolk. What team do you think might drop out of the playoffs? Well falling out, that’s very tough. This next season is gonna be very close and I believe if anyone is gonna drop out it’s KCC or Portland. Which new gm will be the biggest surprise? Woelkers and Rev. Both have hella potential and I see Woelkers getting GMOTY S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - karl - 09-30-2019 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: Written: Give a short write up of one or multiple playoff matches. If completed before the airing of the sims have predictions, after if it is a review of the game. In the first game of the ASFC semifinals we have the up and coming Austin Copperheads against the highly favored Arizona Outlaws. Through 13 regular season games the two teams finished 5-8-0 and 9-4-0 respectively, the latter of which was the best finish in the NSFL. As many expected the Outlaws opened the scoring early in this one with a pair of touchdowns and a field goal in the first quarter to build up a convincing 16-0 lead. Austin would respond with a touchdown and field goal of their own in the 2nd quarter to make this an interesting one as we entered the second half with a score of 16-10 in favor of the Outlaws. Eager to tie the game, the Copperheads hoped they could follow up on their dominant performance in the 2nd quarter, but it was Slim Shady and the Outlaws that would secure the first score of the second half with a 1 yard touchdown. In addition to that the Outlaws would also complete a field goal to regain their 16 point lead. In in the final quarter the Outlaws would put this one out of reach with their fourth touchdown of the match. Austin would respond with a touchdown and field goal of their own to "win" the fourth quarter, but they fell short of catching up to the high scoring Arizona Outlaws. Final score 33-20. 3) All about the QBs Written: Write 200 words on one of the QB matchups in this year's playoffs. What are you most excited to see (Or excited to have seen), who will play better (Or who played better), etc. In the ASFC finals we have the league leading Arizona Outlaws against the always competitive Orange County Otters. In the regular season the Outlaws dominated the Otters with a pair of wins, but the Otters are known to deliver time and time again and you can bet the young Franklin Armstrong was eager to live up to the Otter name in his first full season as starting QB. On the other end we have veteran pig skin chucker and favorite to win, Andrew Reese. Through 13 regular season games Reese led in every major category including completions, attempts, yards, touchdowns and QB rating. In round one Reese delivered with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions on course for a 33-20 win against the Austin Copperheads. Franklin matched those numbers in his round one matchup with a pair of touchdowns of his own and 0 interceptions. After a full 60 minutes though only one would prevail and this time around it was the young Franklin Armstrong. Finishing with just a single touchdown and 15 completions, he made the most of his attempts averaging an insane 19.3 yards per completion. Reese would finish with more completions, attempts and touchdowns, but his average of just 11.6 in comparison to Armstrong showed in this one as he and the Outlaws were unable to win. Otters would go on to win 37-20 and Armstrong would secure the offensive player of the game. 4) Head to Head Matchups Written: Write about two offensive and defensive players that will go against each other in the playoffs or who have faced off in the playoffs, can be DL/QB, WR/CB, RB/LB or whatever matchup you see fit. Adding to what I already wrote in task #3, I'm going to double down on the performance of the young Armstrong, this time pitting him against the Outlaws top defensive weapon, Raymond Vans. These two met twice in the regular season, both of which concluded in Arizona wins. While not the defensive player of the game, Vans would deliver in their first matchup collecting a pair of sacks and 6 tackles. Armstrong would struggle a bit, but still managed to finish with a stronger QB rating than Reese, so it's hard to say Vans really rattled him in game one despite winning. Their second matchup played much like the first. Vans would record a single sack, 5 tackles and the win. Armstrong however would struggle mightily in this one with 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. This was in large part due to the dominant play of Hike Mughes. The stage was set for their 3rd showdown in the ASFC finals. Vans would once again record a very similar stat line with 6 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 tackle for a loss which was strong enough to secure the defensive player of the game. As we already know however, Armstrong would not be rattled in this one finishing with a single touchdown, 0 interceptions and a deadly 109.5 QB rating. It took him three tries, but Armstrong and the Otters would eventually prevail against Vans and the Outlaws. 7) Next year Written: If your team has been eliminated, why will the next year, or the year after that, be the year that your team is going to win the Ultimus or Ultimini. Entering the playoffs as the reigning champions and the top record in the regular season the Outlaws had a lot going for them in S17, but they ran in to an equally strong Orange County squad and would fall short of claiming back to back championships. Fast forward to the end of the playoffs and the beginning of S18 and nothing has really changed in Arizona. They are just as strong as they were last season, if not even more improved with the addition of a few trades and the obvious growth of the draftees over the last few seasons. Valentine returns after another dominant performance in S17 to go along with several other weapons which will give Andrew Reese every opportunity to dominant the league. On the other end the suffocating defense featuring names like Mughes, Lee, Vans and Morris returns for another full season. Expect them to perform similar to last season, giving opposing teams nightmares and more importantly L's in the standings. Last, but certainly not least, the coaching styles of Swagsloth will return again in S18. While top end talent is a must, you need to know how to put all those weapons to use and the current coaching system has been shown to work over the last few seasons. If everything goes as intended, expect to see the Outlaws near the top of the standings again in S18, poised for another shot at the Ultimus. S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - Blueline - 09-30-2019 3) All about the QBs I apologize if I sound like I don't know what I am talking about cause I pretty much don't. I created yesterday and am still learning the league, it's teams/players and how the season concluded. From what I gathered the game between the Wraiths and the Hawks featured a fantastic battle between two good quarterbacks in Havran and Bigsby. Both guys threw for over 300 yards and had no interceptions. Although Havran was more efficient than his counterpart completing 21 of 36 passing attempts. The game would look like a blowout at the half with the Hawks up 24 to 10. But the Wraiths defense would come out in the second half ready to play and limited Havran and the offense to only 3 points. Bigsby would lead his team to two more touchdowns bringing the score within a field goal for the Wraiths. Unfortunately the Hawks defense would shut down Bigsby in the 4th quarter and punching their ticket to the next round. The game showcased two of the leagues best arms and they were on full display that game. Was a fantastic quarterback battle that saw lots of momentum swings and had a nail biting finish. Looking over this games boxscore and play by play was a lot of fun. Code: 212 Words 7) Next Year I am undrafted currently but I would like to think that whatever teams drafts me in the DSFL is going to put themselves in a position to win it all. I may sound a little arrogant, but I think I can be a game changer for my team. I know that anyone can win on any given sunday, but no one will out work me. I refuse to be beaten by something I can control. Someone my have more skill than me, but I refuse to lose my one on one battles. I believe I will acclimate to to any team and be able to fit in seamlessly. I play a team game and want to win. I doubt there is many cornerbacks in this league that can keep up with my speed and I look to expose that. They can't defend what they can't catch. Any team that needs a speed and/or long ball threat I am your guy. I would even say that I have the ability to be a vertical threat as well. I am 6'3" and have the hops to hippity hop with the best of them. And my hands are as sticky as the stickiest man made sticky tape. And next year we can challenge for it all and take home the ultimini championship. Code: 219 Words 12) Sit-down with a star Blueline: Looking back on your regular season, how do you feel you did? What worked and what didn't? Frick_Nasty: As a team I felt the Yeti have really started to turn the corner. We went from 1 win last season to winning 5 game against teams like Arizona and Yellowknife. I feel like we just need to keep striving to get better week in and week out. I think what worked was I work on my footwork a lot and game planning this season which helped me improve on finishing tackles and creating turnovers. My first 2 seasons I had no turnovers so to come out this season and force 3 fumbles is a definite improvement. I also have been reading the gaps better which allowed for me to get more tackles for loss. I feel like I took a step back in the coverage department though as I had less pass deflections and still no interceptions on my career. Expect more improvement on this for next season. Blueline: Congratulations on making the playoffs, but unfortunately you guys fell to the Wraiths. What went wrong in that game and how did you take the loss? Frick_Nasty: They’re a great football team, I respect a lot of players on their team and going against Cooter is always going to be tough. We were able to get a win against them earlier in the season, so I feel they came in extra prepared for us and threw some things at us we haven’t seen on film. I am bummed at the result but I’m still happy for us to get to where we got and will do better next season Blueline: Professional athletes have to have a short memory and get over things quickly. What are you doing to prepare for next season to elevate your game and help your team get to that next level? Frick_Nasty: I have already started my off-season workouts and have been going over all the tapes. Expect my fourth season to be my best so far coming up. I have been having my teammates come out to my place to run drills to get better. Blueline: Obviously winning a championship is the ultimate goal for most players. But what would you still consider as a successful season if you don't achieve that. Any personal accolades you want? Frick_Nasty: I definitely feel like I failed my team by not getting us to the Ultimus but I’m still happy with how I did. Hopefully the voters see the same and I hope I get invited to the pro bowl again this year. PBE JPT S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - MaxGnarland - 10-01-2019 7. The Colorado Yeti will win the Ultimus next season. Book it. This season they quintupled their wins last season. If they keep up this pace of improvement (they will), they will win 25 games next season. 25! That means they'll go undefeated all the way to the Ultimus and beyond! In all seriousness the Yeti have a very good shot at winning the Ultimus next year. They're young core is still intact and will continue to improve and their old veterans are still performing at a high level. They have 5 picks in the first 4 rounds including pick 4 of this loaded draft so they have a very good shot at picking up a star or 2 as well as many other productive players. Their offense was once again their weakness but it's on an upward trend. Wolfie McDummy showed in multiple games that he has what it takes to develop into a premier quarterback and Forty-two will feast across from Bishop. The defense has lost Beau Montgomery but many of its other secondary players only continue to get better and the team has many picks to help sure up the secondary which is one of the more saturated positions in the league. Look out for the Yeti to be the dark horse candidate for the Ultimus next year. 8. The Colorado Yeti need to address some of its more shallow defensive positions. The secondary is fairly empty and could use a revitalization. The trading of Beau Montgomery this season all but guarantees that the secondary will be addressed in this upcoming draft because you can't field a secondary with only 1 or 2 active players. Defensive line could also be an area that needs to be addressed. Currently the Yeti only have 2 defensive lineman so a new active player is sorely needed to deepen this position group. This team is run through the defense so it's never a bad idea to continue improving upon the solid base it already has while the weak side of the ball... I mean the offense continues to grow. It's always a given that if there's an active offensive line user Colorado will at least be in the mix wanting to draft him. McDummy is still progressing and can't be relied upon to carry the team so giving him more time in the pocket is crucial for the Yeti's immediate success while McDummy improves as a passer. The Yeti may also try to draft a wide receiver in the later rounds to have another body they can rotate in. S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - Eco - 10-01-2019 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: ![]() 3) All about the QBs ![]() 19) Kickers are people too! ![]() 20) Let’s get Wild!(card) ![]() S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - SouljaBoy2007 - 10-02-2019 3) In the NSFC conference championship, we saw 2 of the best QBs in the league go at it to try and make an Ultimus. Cooter Bigsby and Corvo Havran both went over 300 yards, with Havran throwing 3 touchdowns to Cooter's 1. Bigsby and the Wraiths found themselves in a hole early, going down 21-3 early in the second quarter. This led to Cooter throwing 44 passes, as he and Morgan Marshall almost resurrected the Wraiths in what had to be a crushing loss. In the end, all of the effort from Bigsby was for naught as Kicky Bobby shanked a 22 yard field goal that would've tied the game. Corvo Havran was named Offensive Player of the Game, with a 113 QBR and a 3/0 TD/INT. The biggest play of the game also came from Havran, with 7 minutes to play and the Wraiths needing a stop the Hawks were facing a 3rd and 10. Havran snapped the ball, stood in the pocket under pressure, and dropped a ball right in between 2 safeties on a post route to Ahri Espeeyeeseetee. This allowed the Hawks to run a couple more minutes off the clock, and with the Wraiths ending the game at the Baltimore 45, those 2 minutes could've sent this game to OT or sent the Wraiths to the Ultimus. The young QBs had an absolute duel in the biggest game of their lives and I expect more battles like this. 8) AZ could really use a running back, considering Jeffrey Murphy just left for Chicago and the RBs we do have aren't exactly phenomenal. Luckily, there is a great running back prospect sitting at around a first round grade. DSFL Pro Bowler Marcella Toriki is a great talent who is a freak athlete and dominated the DSFL in her rookie year. I don't know how likely it is that Toriki will fall to the Outlaws at 8, but she is my dream prospect and is a phenomenal locker room presence from all accounts. Toriki was able to maintain relative efficiency even on an absolutely insane workload in Norfolk and we would get to see her at her most electric once she has star QB Andrew Reese to take the pressure off of her. I think Toriki in Arizona is a dream pairing, and that would allow the Outlaws to compete even with an aging QB. The reigning DSFL ORoY would be an electric talent that is a near lock for the first round, she would shore up a huge hole for AZ. As a fan, I can't say how happy I would be if Toriki slid all the way down to #8 and AZ managed to take her. 16) One of the unsung heroes in this years playoffs was Baltimore Hawks LB Marques Acho. Acho led the team in tackles for 2/3 their 3 games and he finished the playoffs with a total of 29. Acho performed as a safety net in the run game, for when the DL couldn't quite wrap up the runner. While he didn't record any other stats outside of his 29 tackles, he was able to contribute with nothing but his presence on the field, as he is a solid linebacker in coverage and even when a ball was put in hsi zone he was quick to wrap up the receiver and prevent them from breaking plays. I think part of the reason Acho hasn't gotten as much press as some other guys is that #1 Tackles aren't a flashy stat and #2 The Hawks didn't win the Ultimus. After the Ultimus, Acho could be seen walking with his head in his hands on the bench. It sucks that his great efforts during the playoffs weren't able to be rewarded, but at least he can rest easy knowing that he was able to contribute to some huge wins for the Hawks. They might regress next season, as they traded for a retiring player, but I hope that Acho can get the ring he deserves, as this playoffs shows his ability to star when the lights are the brightest. 19) So, a kicker was super important this year but not in the best way. Young Wraiths kicker Kicky Bobby shanked a game tying field goal from 22 yards out. This had large repercussions as not only did it lose the Wraiths the game, it also probably contributed to the retirement of Morgan Marshall and almost caused Ryan Leaf Jr. to find a new team. Kicky Bobby's miss flipped to momentum back to the Baltimore Hawks after a furious comeback by Yellowknife in the third quarter. A make from Kicky Bobby would more than likely lead to a Wraiths win and possibly a Wraiths Ultimus, as they can ride the wave from their incredible comeback. The fans in Yellowknife would be absolutely insane in the Ultimus after many years of playoff disappointment. Unfortunately for them, the football gods did not smile upon them. I could see the Wraiths reaching for a kicker, maybe even the very vocal Baxter Frost. If I were GMing the Wraiths, Kicky Bobby would be cut not for the teams sake, but for his own. I doubt that poor kid has left his house for the last month thanks to that miss. I hope that his career will not just be that one miss. S17 ULTIMUS WEEK!!! - JuOSu - 10-02-2019 7) Next year It is no longer a secret that the New Orleans Second Line are going to be a main force in this league very soon. We already have an amazing core of players, young players especially, that will be getting better and better every season and we should be an absolute force of nature in the next few seasons and one of the teams that should be a favorite to win a trophy sooner or later. On offense, we have myself at Quarterback, the amazing Forrest Gump at Running Back, Vladimir Fyodorovich, Action Jackson and more at Wide Receiver. On Defense, we have an amazing linebacker duo in Johnny Slothface and Quenton Bode. Additionally we have Deon Taylor, Jordan Andrews, Brayden Ennis and more. We also have an amazing S18 draft coming up with the number one overall pick and five picks in the first three rounds in general. The future is looking very bright. I think the New Orleans Second Line will be able to really have a strong showing next season already where we think we will be able to be a playoff team and I think we will be able to then keep that streak going for a few seasons in a row as most of the core that I just mentioned are early in their career and only getting better. 8) Draft Focus The New Orleans Second Line have some obvious holes in our team that we will be trying to fill in the draft coming up or through free agency or similar. Our defense still needs a few more actives, especially maybe one or two more on the defensive line and then also in the backfield, maybe a safety or two and a cornerback. All of that together would do really well for us and make us even stronger contenders in the future. We also may have to look at a Wide Receiver, as Fyodo is getitng older every season and we may need to replace him sooner or later. Additionally, we also might be looking at Tight End, as we have no tight end on the roster right now. It will be interesting to see what we will do in this draft and what spots we can fill and we can continue to build this team. Where will this go in the future and based in this draft? We will see I guess. But I think that we will be able to get some amazing players in this draft due to having a lot of picks and then we can use those players well in the future and be able to contend for a title. 17) Robbed I know it will sound weird to hear me say that I think that the New Orleans Second Line were robbed of getting into the playoffs. We obviously have the first overall pick, which means we were the worst team in the league this season. Despite that, I actually think we were fairly close to being a playoff team. We actually had a lot of unlucky games and close games and could have easily won more games. Just think of it that way, we were two games behind a playoff spot and we had two games alone that we lost in overtime. That does not even count other close games. But yes, even just getting the overtime games as a win, we would have easily been able to get a win and get into the playoffs. Beyond that, I think we just got really unlcuky this year and we really could have been a better team. We have a great core and I think that we could have won more games if things had gone our way better. I was not always the best quarterback, but I was doing pretty alright. We had a fantastic rushing game all year long as we always do and that really helped us. And then we also had a really good defense, even though we sometimes gave up too many points.
