If only these two competing philosophies were being trialled by different teams. I wish we had some way, say in about 7 weeks at the end of Season 2, to compare which strategy was more effective.

If there was a 100 TPE corner on the board at the top of the 3rd round, I think Vegas would take that player so I'm sitting on the side of the move being Probably Good.

Let's assume everything you've said is correct (for the record I vehemently disagree with what you're saying) but let's suppose.

Vegas decided that paying an extra cost to secure the players they wanted was worth it. An expansion draft is an uncertain proposition. Vegas and Philly are not teammates. You and Vegas can't collude. Opportunity cost doesn't factor into an uncertain environment.

I still don't understand the problem you're having. It honestly just sounds like you're upset that your team is behind?
