Yeah please don’t do that

Edit: on second thought, you could improve the hiring process by hiring everyone

Hi that's me.

Hell I'm on my second player that is subsisting entirely off the money I earned circa S5-S14ish, yeah it's a ton of money that you can earn if you do a lot of stuff. I was simmer, draft streamer, awards streamer, banker, sim tester/balancer, DSFL GM. Maybe other things as well that I forgot.

But you want to know why I did all those things? Because I wanted the league to be a better place and I knew I could do these jobs really well. And I did them damn well and earned every penny of that fake internet money. Offseason draft and awards streams would usually be about 10 hours of work. Offseason sim file work was easily another 10 hours. Often all that happened in the same week. During the season sim work would usually take around 2 hours per sim week so about 8 hours a week. Some of that was active work some was just file converting. Sometimes it took more or less. That's not including my work as a DSFL GM or the three or so seasons I spent on sim balancing work.

So yeah I might have earned $30-40m in job pay in one good season. But that also took me close to 60 hours worth of work. It would have been a whole lot less work to instead write 9 or 10 2500 word articles to get the same amount of money. It was never about the money, or "power" (wtf is sim league power???). It was about wanting to make a game that I really enjoyed be as good as it could possibly be.

In the seasons you listed there weren’t 22 teams worth of players trying to get those jobs. You did those because you were the best option. Somehow we’ve reached a point where the easiest job to get is GM. Which is not a good thing for anyone imo.

Step 1) Respond to the people you don’t select.

Two people have told me this week they’re waiting to hear back on appeals teams positions that were already filled long ago. That’s not just you guys though, that’s standard operating procedure throughout the league. My own teammates have done that to me before.

All 13 applications that were voted on have been contacted, and I did so on Monday. I'm not sure who you're referring to.

Because GM is a really damn hard job and it's not about the money.

The question does not exist to judge people based on their answer, rather to judge the people who consider themselves too dignified to answer the question at all.

Also, this is a terrible defense "because other people do the same thing."  Also, I'm pretty sure people criticize the nfl for this kind of question too.  Plus, you aren't hiring a football player, you are inviting people to join your sim league team.  If you don't understand how people are offended by that you are lost man.

I understand why people are offended, if you don’t understand why I keep it to filter out players that won’t enjoy a certain locker room environment, then I’d suggest you are lost.

If you make a locker room culture that has an environment that will offend people, then that is an even bigger problem.

It offends about 3-4 people per 100, usually after someone else tells them to be offended in my experience. In a 270 person class, a single player was offended. It’s not an offensive environment, but it’s also not for the easily offended. Idk what to say, except everyone in there ends up loving it.

In discussions in Tijuana pretty much every prospect said they thought it was a weird question, most said they just answered bc they didn't want to lower their draft stock. A question can be inoffensive and still be a bad question to ask. To me it came across as an inside joke that doesn't land if you're not in on the joke, it was just strange.

It is a weird question. That’s the entire point. One question at the end to see how people handle themselves when uncomfortable. Some people answer yes, others no, others run away. All three are acceptable. Dallas might not even still have the question, idk.

Hi. There's a lot going on in here. Came for the dotts hate but honestly that's not really the point and Gucci seems to not really want that. So does this league do recipes on long threads? Shl does and I need to think about my weekend dinner.
