(S2) - Weekend PT #4 - Drama! - ADwyer87 - 08-06-2017

So there is a lot of drama that I have seen in my time here. Let me go over 3 instances that I wanna talk about.

1) The Durden Incident - So, at some time in the middle of the season, late round pick Durden complained about his carries, saying "So, any chance I see RB 1 anytime soon? I think I've proved I'm the top RB." Fun fact, at this point, not only was he getting the most carries of anyone, but also he was playing worse than Mackworthy and had less TPE than him as well, so his statement was completely false. One of his teammates got mad about that, and Durden proceeded to leak our LR, which was wholly unacceptable. At that point i decided he would without a doubt not be on the team in S2.

2) The Luechly Incident - pretty recently our star rookie linebacker Luke Luechly was docked 7 TPE for doing some PT tasks incorrectly. he lost 2 TPE from a AC he claimed in a dead thread that simply just wasn't locked, and lost 5 TPE from a small 2 hour technicality. What made this a little drama worthy is that the news was broken unceremoniously by Kevin Cushing, which caught Arizona members off guard. Yes, the TPE was earned incorrectly, though the 2 hour technicality is a little weak in my opinion, the fact that someone went back a month afterwards and audited Luke Luechly's update thread is super petty, and if the rumors are true that it was Cushing who did it after being mad about underperforming it makes it even more so.

3) The Cheating Allegations - I'm pretty sure no member has been accused of cheating right now more than ErMurazor. He is a simmer, and people claim that he has been simming the games and then giving us the results so we get max points. This is totally false, and a clear sign that people just want to call people cheaters when they get beat. We actually just have a great system to make us most likely to get the right answer, no cheating involved whatsoever. People have also got mad at him for posting false predictions and changing them! This is not cheating whatsoever, so people who think this are the definition of salty haha. They dont wanna do work and just wanna copy, so then they get mad when they get bested and shout "cheating!" No word on who keeps being the accuser. some speculation is that is is a member of the OCO OL, but once again that is just speculation

I don't want to get too involved but if I remember correctly @AsylumParty was allowed to claim an activity check after the deadline because the thread hadn't been locked right when him and I had just signed up?

What was one of the biggest drama in the NSFL you are asking? Well there's many good answers but one that was forgotten by many people is when Reigns got drafted 1st overall by The Orange County Otters. Everyone was shocked and the players were clearly unhappy with the pick and they were right. But what made it worst is when Reigns went on public and told everyone that he would be the best player in the league because hs knows how the game works and said the rest are loser who are just jealous. So what happened next you may say? The Otters were eliminated in the ASFC Championship game by outlaws. After that, he didn't receive any awards. Not even the best defensive player and not nominated for this award. He turned out to be a bust and went away from the media. He hasn't talked since his loss in the playoff. He ran away because hs couldn't face the players and tje the fans anymore. He's too scared to be ashamed in front of everyone. The drama queen is still playing for the Otters but he isn't have a great season so far. They are 1-3 right now and with a big loss against the hawks, people are wondering if Reigns is to be blamed.

NSFL fans who are not on the forums regularly are wont to miss some of the league's best drama - the flash in the pan grease fires that leave the walls of the kitchen singed, but no one severely injured. While the selection of DSFL GMs might have had the opportunity to get bad - applications were open for only 24 hours, and a few notable voices were left feeling snubbed, it doesn't get greasier than the NSFL Players Union Debacle.

Over the course of 5 hours, a Players Union was proposed to ensure fair compensation, more control over league-wide issues, and to "give players a platform to express their biggest wants/needs" while promising that everybody would flourish in a players first association and that such a Union would drive A LOT more activity to the site.

Immediately, questions were raised about the structure of the Union - would the proposer have disproportionate power, simply for coming up with the idea? What did "I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE/MODIFY ALL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF EXECUTIVES" mean for the Union? Was it worth joining a Union that charged dues, when contract money is a pittance of a player's earnings?

Fortunately, calmer heads prevailed and a sensible and fruitful discussion was had by all. Just kidding, there were 11 pages of mad posting in 12 hours and the idea burned to the ground.

As the announcement of the DSFL Commenced multiple rumours on early send downs were in the mix. On the philly Liberty the LR was in a debacle on make your guy OP or we send your butt down to the DSFL. Well I for one already know I will be sent down to the DSFL mainly because I won't be skilled enough for the NSFL at this moment in time. I believe you need 250 to not be sent down to the DSFL and I know for one that will be hard to accomplish IMO. I will do every PT every prediction and so on and so forth. Even equipment if I need to. But I heard that there were some people going to be sent to the DSFL next season I am probably one of them. Good thing I already got a touch down because that was on my bucket list. My team is struggling so they will probably bring in a very WR. I can tell you this much though. I will be in the running for DSFL player of the year. The drama unfolding in the LR will not affect me as I will be super speedy by the end of the season. I am gonna go 0 to 100 real quick. I will look like a cheetah out there. In conclusion the DSFL sparked some drama with the fans talk shows and the Philly LR ( not really ) but in the end who wouldn't want to tear up the noob league? Wink 250 words

Without a doubt, the most entertaining Season 1 saga was the hot mess that was the Orange County Otters quarterback situation. Featuring enough moving parts to make a whole mini-series, the drama was so good that it even dovetailed nicely into the Josh Bercovici saga, the case of the NSFLs 21-million dollar man who doesn't appear to be worth a bent paper-clip. Although these two "scandals" were funny, they had very little real long-term impact on the league, with the obvious exception of the Legion's cap sheet.

What the Gregor Clegane scandal lacked in raw entertainment value, it more than made up for in lasting consequences. For those that don't recall, Clegane, the consensus top O-lineman in the S2 draft, refused to play for any team but the Otters, who held the 6th overall pick. Even though he was slotted to go as high as 2nd overall, Clegane's threats worked as he fell to the Otters' pick. The situation generated pages of discussion as GMs foresaw a future where they were hamstrung in decision-making by player holdouts. While a hold-out never actually occurred, a precedent of pre-draft threats was established, the kind of precedent that creates the potential for significant problems going forward. What happens if multiple prospects hold-out for the same team? We may need a bigger point task.

I am a new player in the league and I don’t know very much about drama that is happening. I would guess that there is drama with the fact that the Tuck brothers are now united on one team. How is it fair that a single team is able to capture the skill of both Jayce Tuck and Justin Tuck? I guess you could say they are just lucky like that. You have probably heard of Jayce Tuck who plays on the defense of the Outlaws but I am going to be playing on the offensive side of the ball where I hope to become the best full back and tight end in the league. I have obviously heard from my brother before joining the league, but I still have a lot to learn while I pick-up how to play in the National Simulation Football League. I also know that Outlaws were able to snatch a championship in the last season of the league and I would be happy to help my brother Jayce hoist the trophy for a second time. Plus if I never win a ring and he does I know I will never hear the end of that so my reasons are doubled.
