(S2) - Weekend PT #5 - Team Bonding - Bzerkap - 08-13-2017

You ever see that famous picture with the dogs all playing poker? Well, that's the Yellowknife Wraiths OL, just with less hair. All of us, Mat, Jogn, Tyron, Matt, and Jughead, get together every Tuesday night for a poker match. It's an easy way for us to shoot the breeze and bond over some cards and alcohol.

It's hosted at Floggity's house every night and starts out pretty tame. Mat and Tyron usually come in ubers, and Jughead takes a taxi for some reason. Oddly enough, Matt gets dropped off by Jay Z every night. Somehow he convinced him to get a giant Failadelphia logo airbrushed on the hood of his Maserati; Don't ask me how.

Anyway, like I said, the night starts pretty tamely. Everyone likes to boast about their pancakes in great detail. A lot of rabble rousing and horseplay in general. Then, all of a sudden we're deep into the 10th hand of the night and Matt literally flips the table! We're all looking at him like he's crazy. Then we realize he's probably had about twice as much to drink as the rest of us, and he's just going on and on about Philadelphia and how he couldn't believe we lost to them. He ran outside and we just let him vent. Then we noticed a bright orange glow from the backyard. We ran outside to find Matt swigging a bottle of Southern Comfort in just his boxers and socks. He turned Jogn's grill on, took the Failadelphia shirt off his back and threw it on the grill. No idea why he burned his pants too. He was just wailing about Philadelphia. It was a bit much.

We called Jay Z and he came and took him home, apologizing profusely for his client's behavior. Just another Wraiths OL Tuesday Poker Night.

Being in Orange County, the Otters have access to the finest beaches on the west coast. Because of this, there's plenty of options for the players to spend their free time. However, only one activity is the Otters favorite: Beach Volleyball. The games were started by Angus Winchester, the most competitive member of the Otters. Many think he just wanted an excuse to be on the beach shirtless. Usually it's offense vs. defense, with Mike Boss leading the offense as he would on the field and Adamle Tomlinson leading the defense with the same idea. If you ask the defense, they'll say the games are close, but if you ask the offense they'll tell you the truth, that they dominate the defense out on the sand. At the end of the day the games of beach volleyball bring the team closer though and build morale. Even after a loss, you'll see the Otters out on the beach bettering themselves through a game on the beach. Sometimes they like to mix it up with some frisbee or some beach baseball and sometimes even relax on the pier and fish until it's dark. All-in-all, to bond and pass the time, the Otters use their surroundings to their advantage.

The Otters have been molesting cows as a team before every game for almost 2 years now. This is how angus got so big playing on the offensive line. They say the milk from the teet is full of testosterone to help them preform each week.

Ya know here in the Las Vegas Legion we don't win a lot. In fact we only won once. Even with the losses, everybody on the Legion are happy and in high hopes. You wanna know why? We bond as a team. BECAUSE EVERY WEDNESDAY WE HAVE TEAM BBQ'S COURTESY OF THADDEUS WORLDWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE. You know here at Thaddeus WORLDWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE we want to make it a win. And to make it a win you gotta get everyone on high hope. A BBQ can do that. You gotta have the chicken, you gotta have the steak, you gotta have the fish, you gotta have burgers, and for our vegan friends you gotta have tofu and veggie patties. We don't want our vegan friends to feel alone because at THADDEUS WORLDWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE we include all people of all walks of life because we are good people and we have to make it a win. All the teammates love my BBQ because that shit tastes good and they always asking me "Yo Thad what do you put in this?". What I put in what I cook is a little bit of Thad's special sauce, a recipe originally made by his momma. Everybody loves the cooking and it bonds us together at the Legion and THADDEUS WORLDWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE. Even though we ain't winning we will #MakeItAWin soon.

THADDEUS WORLDWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE

The Arizona Outlaws Locker Room is pretty diverse in how the players spend time together. Everybody has their hobbies, and the groups they hang out with. Isaiah Rashad, Hariff Enrston and Arbin Asipi are huge fans of the League of Legends game, and can be found in the lab on most days. Other players can be found there on some days, when the Trio are in a more casual mood. They say they are trying to teach the rest of the team, but they are only nice to Tim Pest. They yell at everybody else when a mistake is made.

Staying on the topic of video games, Rookie Safety, Allen Davis is basically a Pro Madden player. He holds tournaments every week, with a food and alcohol prize for anybody that can beat him. Every week he seems to clean up the competition, until one day recently. Luke Luechly stumbles into the projection room, and you can tell he is drunk as hell. He proceeds to pick the controller up, and yell "THAT ASS IS MINE, MR. POSTMAN," before putting 35 up to Davis' 20. In a truly astonishing show, Luke leaves drunker than he came in, with a full stomach of food.

Ryan Flock and Christiano Ronaldo can be found down the street from the Practice Facility playing pick up soccer games with the locals in the area. Nobody really recognizes the duo, but they always have questions when two big muscular guys come to the field with the most expensive gear on. When the team needs a break from the serious training, Flock and Ronaldo like to organize a fun game between each other. You kind find the likes of C.A Chess and Mayran Jackson playing as goalkeeper, as their sure hands make them the perfect fit. Most of the lineman like to play defense so they don't have to run as much, while the DBs are caught more in the middle of the field. Reg Mackworthy is probably the quickest learner, as he feels comfortable playing wherever. His favorite thing to do is convince Jayce Tuck to take the ball all the way up, while he always seems to lose it and have to run all the way back.

As you can see, everybody has their hobbies, but the real bonding comes when they are learning about new skills and stepping out of their comfort zone.

Just like the Orange County Otters' team, San Jose players can benefit from their location and everybody are doing just like that. The Sabercats' safety Clee Hardrool isn't an example of being a closest teammate ever and quite frankly, he's an egomaniac a little bit. And don't you get surprised if he's spending his time with completily random SJS fans, not with teammates. But wait...he still finds some time to his teammates too. Like he's being a good party partner to Ja Brill, which isn't a surprised because he is a safety as well. Sometimes they are partying so hard every fan can see them doing an ''eight walk'' with Clee screaming something like ''3-1 baby!!! The Otters can suck my ass hoe!!!'' (what ass hoe does even means?). Another his usual partner is Dan Miller. Unlike Clee-Brill duo, they are not doing parties as Dan is a calmer guy, despite of his strong vocal presence on matches. Dan is more of a statistic guy and he can talk about every single stat for about a half-day at least. You could say Clee is too simple guy for this and these talks puts him to sleep, but that's not the case. Surprisingly, he can pay his attention to Dan's lecture and he actually believes these talks can improve Clee's game.

Well, he's also doing stuffs with another teammates too, but these two aforementioned guys are being closer to Clee in terms of spending free time.

Something that the Wraiths do to bond as a team is quite simple… they watch film! Not the normal game film although that is also usually done. But all sorts of films, old, new, horror, drama, comedy, it runs the gamut. Perennial favorites include old war movies such as Zulu, or Gettysburg, as well as comedies like Monty Python and the Holy Grail or Mystery Science Theater 3000 (the Movie). QB Chris Orosz has even on occasion set up a couple of consoles to pair with their huge projection screen and run classic Nintendo 64 Goldeneye Tournaments! (No Oddjob, of course, these are professionals!) But more often than not, it’s more of a random flip through while someone counts down from 10, which ever movie it lands on is what plays. This did lead to an embarrassing situation when going through randomly led to a Cinemax style softcore movie which started playing when the coaching staff came in, leading to much eye aversion and innocent whistling as well as a rush for the remote control. Once explained however, many laughs were had and the movie night tradition will continue for the foreseeable future…or until the end of the season, whichever is landed on when the countdown finishes!
