RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - hexify - 07-07-2021 Easy, probably the easiest thing ever. First, @Big Edd, for being a general menace to the league. The way you handle yourself and things among other people is disrespectful but absolutely hilarious. You dont got a filter, and you spare no-one. Its always funny seeing you tilt people who take this league way too seriously (feel free to shout them out in the comments.) Its also very funny how everyone absolutely hates you, considering you not that bad. You always seem to find the person who cannot take a joke, and then immediately violate them in ways they have never heard before. Youre an absolute moronic, douchebag, shitty steelers fan. But you the GOAT. Best DT ever created. Put him in the Hall of fame HO. Dont be mad he snaked yall a few times, thats on you. Second, Dallas. Dallas shaped me into who i am today. Some people and *cough* teams, think Dallas breeds toxicity and unwellness. They couldn't be more further from the truth, as everyone in the LR is always a pleasure to talk to. I always can find someone there just to shoot the shit with. People who trash talk are just mad that their LR has every rule in the book, and that it is mad soft. It's pretty funny watching people seethe. Shoutout @Kyle, @Kyamprac, @r0tzbua, the big kahunas of Dallas. Yall goated, even tho Kyle sux lmap. The Cowboys wont win a ring with Dak, btw. Just thought you should know that. Luv yall. Third, Honolulu. Honolulu was goated the moment they drafted me. They literally allowed me to create a new culture there, and implement my own ideas. They allowed me to blossom into the player and earner i am today. They always helped me when i needed it. @siddhus and @Attopax, yall the goats. Never gave up on me, even tho i barely broke 500 tpe. I truly appreciate it. Ill always love honolulu. I hope nothing but the best for yall. Get that HS degree Sid. Lock up them murderers Atto. (Or get them out of trouble, get that bag.) (345) RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - 37thchamber - 07-07-2021 I’m not really a social person, so this is a weird prompt for me. I get along with most people, but I don’t think I talk to anyone in this league outside of league contexts at all really, so I feel a bit strange trying to separate "special mentions" from the community (and those within it that I've interacted with) as a whole... and I've been here long enough that this is a long list. That said, my current teammates on the Yeti have largely been really cool people to get to know a little. I might not be around every day to talk, or maybe I don’t talk much some days, but I feel like we can all have some good chat from time to time and that’s nice. Mostly my interactions have been with a handful of people who are most often around when I'm online. So like Schwarz and Isa have been great, and they're basically the reason Raphael Delacour is a Yeti. Ephy and Syl are often around when I’m online too so we have some nice interactions. Tesla, whenever she makes an appearance is a fucking delight (as I'm sure everyone knows by now). I’m sure some others in the Yeti LR are probably growing a little tired of my repeated interjections of some variation on “capitalism is shit” but it’s not causing any problems as far as I can tell, which is a big plus. Means I don't have any reason to dislike anyone in there right off the bat, lol. If I didn't namedrop you here, my bad. I'm old and my memory ain't what it used to be. I still hang with some of my old teammates in other LRs too, so like when Blas (who has been slacking on Atticus pics in the Norfolk LR) and I chip into conversations with our unique brown man perspectives (which, in fairness, is mostly a shared resentment of Britain, thinking about it); Connor and Lanced consistently cracking me up wherever I see them; wrestling talk in Philly from time to time with Pat, WFM and whoever else is around; Hall getting me back in the Hawks server (though it’s not the same without the OG Hawks crew -- slm, manic, raven, barry, hendrix and zoone -- all kickin it in there tbh, and it feels like ancient history to even remember those days now). Also gotta shout out the wiki crew. Not gonna list names, there’s a lot of you, and you know who you are. Glad you guys are still grinding away on that. I know the project as a whole is a bit divisive among the member base, but I still think it’s one of the best things I’ve done around here. The best obviously being Gibson’s Story because that was fucking legendary. Anyway all this to basically say that even considering there are people I don’t get along with in this league (there always is), I’m glad I’ve had (over) four years here. It’s been interesting shooting the shit with some of you. And if I haven’t shot the shit with you yet, there’s always tomorrow. I’m not as standoffish as I seem, I promise. (for affiliate purposes: I am also academydropout) RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Billybolo53 - 07-07-2021 Starting off in this league the first person to ever reach out to me was @RainDelay. He scouted me for the DSFL draft. I was impressed about how quickly after I created team started to reach out. I did some articles on some interesting storylines in the ISFL and just happened to do one on, who would eventually become my gm, @Frostbite. Frost and @scorycory were amazing as gms. Being drafted by the Buccs was and still is my favorite moment is sim leagues. I remember being so hyped about it. Literraly fist pumped the air once my name was called. The run that we had was really fun in S21. Just one of the all time great dsfl classes imo. @Memento Mori @Thor @Cheech65 @NicholasTheGreat @Gwdjohnson @tMuse @Cheech65 @RotticusScott @Briedaqueduc @"jdourtedl" @Naosu @Colabear @Troen @NamelessNate Just an amazing list of users looking back at it. I have gotten to play and get to know them all on some level and will always root for each and everyone one of these guys. I was drafted to the Sarasota Sailfish and got to play with both Rain and Frost again. They did an equally amazing job of surrounding the team with great talent. sakor, boogie, mojo, andrews, slate, lb, mbj, cheech again, tmuse again, it really just goes on and on with this team. For the first time in an ISFL war room and it was just eye opening to see all the work that gets put in by the Gms and thier staffs. Gave me so much appreciation for my team. I feel really lucky to have played with such a great team all these seasons. Also want to give a shout out to @thevoicelesscreator and @Arkz. I have worked closely with both on the awards committee and can't say enough good things about either. tvc took a chance on me and gave my first job in sim leagues and arkz has just gone above and beyond at every turn. Awards is a thankless job but these guys really made it worth it. Lastly I just want to shout @infinitempg @bex @DarknessRising I have so much respect for each of you. You have all giving so much to the league and I don't think it would run the same without you guys. Thanks for all the hard work. I could go on and on about people I like in these leagues and feel bad about anyone I missed. I am thankful I found this community and happy to continue to be apart of it. RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - tMuse - 07-07-2021 Dang i don't even know where to start! Loved the original thread, and love this idea. I wanna thank @Highhaschdi for introducing me into the league, which has brought such joy into my life. Also thanks for being one of my best friends in general, you're a good one! Thanks to @sakrosankt, @Frostbite, @Mojojojo, @slate, @abh89, @Billybolo53 and @LB3737 as i said before in the other thread, you guys helped me through my toughest time in my whole life. I can't thank you enough. All of you were so understanding and always held my spirit up high. Can't tell you how much that helped me. Even tho i already thanked you @Mojojojo thank you for dropping !booooooty from time to time, no idea what it is but it always makes me smile, absolutely love that video! @Booger you're just one special human being. I just love you dude. You whooped my ass in uno countless of times but i can look past that, i had so much fun sharing a locker room with you! @BenDover is another absolute wonderful human. Even tho we don't hang around as much as we used to i still enjoyed it so so much. You're awesome but you do suck at uno. @Memento Mori we had such a great time in Myrtle Beach. It was an absolute honor to share a locker room with you. And it seems like that you do have a really nice taste in music. There are so many more i want to list here but i bet i would forget someone. I just wanna say thanks to all of the S21~S22 Squad of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Thanks for picking me up as a waiver back then and trusting in my earnings. What an awesome "real" first season i've had there. I made so many friends back then and we also went and won the ultimini. It was absolutely awesome! Also thanks to all each and everyone on the Sarasota Sailfish. There is just no better locker room in the league, period, full stop. Its always just super chill and lovely to hang out with all of you. Every single one of you makes the team to what it is. Even tho we haven't quite succeeded in firing frost we will one day. RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Dukemarriot - 07-07-2021 Man I had a great first year here is the ISFL. More specifically on the DSFL with the Minnesota Grey Ducks! (S29 champions baby!!) I’m so thankful for the Ducks on giving me a chance in this league. I was a little known 5th round pick for them who they helped train and blossom into the DSFL Defensive Rookie of the Year! More specifically I’d like to thank @RussDrivesTheBus and @, GMs of Minnesota (and rightful winners of the GMs of the Year) for helping me with learning this game and not complaining about my constant questioning on what to do or how to do stuff with this game! I’d also like to thank fellow Duck Gragg (can’t find him haha) for helping me a lot as well. Helping me with my build so that I’m the best LB I can be. And thank you to my fellow rookie Ducks! We all had such a great season our rookie years! Thank you @Brian_Taylor, Mason Malone, Fuzzy, @Bauer! I can’t wait to win another championship with Minnesota in S30 (at least if I’m not called up) We had such a great team last season and some great chemistry! I know we’re losing some players to the ISFL but I know we’ll have great new players join us in the s31 draft! I cannot wait to find out where I’m heading in the season 30 ISFL draft! Cannot wait to find my new home and can’t wait to eventually lead them to a Ultiminus championship! Again I just want to thank everyone who has helped me come as far as I have gotten. I honestly probably would’ve gave up and quit the league if not for some certain persistent people who helped me through it all. I guess all I have to say left is Go Minnesota, Go whoever drafts me and most importantly Strawberry Milk is the best. -317 words RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - AW13 - 07-07-2021 I feel like all of these thank you type posts for me always turn into a love fest for @ckroyal92 so here is another round of that and he can tell me I am a creep later I guess. When I first came to the ISFL, I did not really have a huge relationship with CK though I did know of him in the PBE before and I assume he had heard about the newer user who was making headlines over there and having created in what was then the NSFL, I was a hot commodity, right? Let's go with that. Anyways, the San Jose Sabercats, who were one of the...more unfortunate teams in the history of the league needed a new QB after going through a few guys who were not very good and then grabbed a rental Akselsen before deciding to make an investment in the position. CK took the chance on me as the first QB off the board in my draft class when Philly decided to give San Jose the choice and from there it worked out really well. San Jose did not have a co-GM at the time so I stepped up and CK gave me my first chance at GMing in the ISFL and I would say it went really well. We were able to build a solid relationship that carries on to this day and became friends. We won a championship together with San Jose, something that nobody thought was ever possible but it happened. Not only that, but even when I was unsure of my next player, he took a chance at 2nd overall and drafted me again with Deondre Thomas Fox after I said I would be willing to play the WR position. While I was not the greatest with DTF, I still was grinding to be the best I could be and San Jose got to the point where we won back to back titles again. While I was not Co-GM anymore, it was still awesome to see and be a part of that. I will always say that CK needs me to win in the ISFL so maybe next player buddy as I have been on the Sabercats for all 3 of their NSFL/ISFL titles. Thanks for my titles CK. RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - StadiumGambler - 07-07-2021 The most obvious group of people who made a positive effect on my time here was the Portland Pythons management group. I got my start in the game and cut my teeth in the League with their help. Guys like Southpaw and zeagle gave me some invaluable insight into how things worked, helped me build a fairly prodigious Wide Receiver for them (although unfortunately we didn't win a title), and helped me understand this crazy simulation that plays everything out. The users behind Remus Roman (Vaelynn) and Xavier Walls (xtitanxmvpx) were also some good guys on that Portland team, helping out big-time with their capped builds, and we were the sort of "Big 3" that could've helped the team achieve success if the sim was the slightest bit cooperative. Then I moved to Sarasota and met some more cool people. Frost, the GM, is a nice guy, and has supported Saleem Spence's success in his rookie season. sakrosankt was helpful to me and on point on some things, and gave me the reasonable contract offer I wanted when I joined the Sailfish. The war room has guys like abh (controlling Harrison Andrews), and mojojojojo (PRobably too many jo's, controlling Ernest Lover), that were also helpful to me in getting stabilized in Sarasota. There were also some helpful rookie mentors who gave me advice in the early days, and kept me sane when I was waiting for seasons to happen and sim transfers to take place so that I could actually use my player. I think Numbers was one of them, but I can't remember some of the other names. Unfortunately, I did not get great advice for my first playoff predictions, but thems the breaks. I've also met a lot of nice people trying to recruit me, guys like flyeaglesfly, punter715, WidfireMicro, and tomasnz (although I knew him well from the SHL). I got some good pitches before the draft from teams interested in picking me, and it's nice to know I'll probably have landing destinations in the league if Sarasota had to make some tough business decisions with my player. RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - sve7en - 07-07-2021 A short rundown of my time as an affiliate member. It's been weird, coming over as a well known and engaged SHL user while also saying I didn't have a lot of time to commit here. I've still met some great people, but I know a good number of them are crossovers and I didn't get super deep into this league. Minny picked me off waivers, and were rewarded with everything but the Mini win. The milk thing was weird but I'm still around and lurking in that locker room. They're a good group of people and I enjoyed my time there a lot. @negs and @124715 were the original ISFL friends I made, good picks on my part ngl. I got to pick both up in my SMJHL team down the line, and that happened because of the fun I had interacting with them here. @Bayley drafted me even after they tried to scout me and I accidentally left them on read, which is both insane and an immense show of trust in their war room / team that spoke highly enough of me. @Faelax, @Evok, @enigmatic, @caltroit_red_flames, @Muford, @Leafer, @thevoicelesscreator all possibly had some part in that, my SHL contingent that made me feel right at home in a new league. @ThunderTitan82 was a part of both teams, and was someone I eventually just attributed to what made the ISFL so good. @LimJahey puts up with my bullshit plenty and has been a joy to interact with in both leagues. @Kyamprac, @Amidships, @r0tzbua, @Blasoon, @"Punter715", @Dewalt27, @Exilate, thank you for making the SHL such a great place with your presence. I've loved getting to have you all on my team(s) in some way or another and I love how a lot of you guys all came together under the CAR banner. @Faelax, @AgentSmith, @FootballIsCool, thanks for letting me yell about sim leagues to you every Thursday. @nealpt, I hope you like it here, love ya homie. Can't wait to see what teams you get to hang out with. 339 words RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - TheCC - 07-07-2021 There are so many users that have affected me positively since I’ve joined the league that there’s no way I could list them all in 300 words. So I’ll just start listing them off the top of my head until I hit the word count! I guess we should start in the beginning. @Dewalt27 was one of the first to fit this description for me. He was my first GM, and although he forgot I existed for a little while, and then wrongfully benched me for an entire season, he was still one of the first people to make this league fun for me. In the same timeframe I could also list basically all of my S21-23 Duck teammates, many of whom I’m still good friends with today. This team was special and it's what I've been chasing ever since we all got split up by the inevitable ISFL call ups. The list goes on and on, but off the top of my head (and I apologize if I forget anyone - I guarantee I will), @SomeSay... @Tylus @RussDrivesTheBus @thevoicelesscreator @ForSucksFake @DarknessRising @Dagumpa @Jangorhino @FurFurFurson @24redcrayons @Jason @SnowyWolfz and many more Next up is @Bayley and @Muford. They threw a random dart at the board and drafted me in the 11th round of the S22 draft. If I had gone to any other team, who knows if I would’ve stayed active. They made the CHI LR a fun place to be, and they helped me progress into the sim vet that I am today. Next would be all of the DSFL GMs that I got to work with in my time GMing the Grey Ducks, including but not limited to: @BenDover @RussDrivesTheBus @GlimsTC @Kyamprac @RDBSouthPaw @WhatAmUs @Maglubiyet and @Tonzy I’m running out of words here, but I’d also like to give a shoutout to some of my favorite GMs that I’ve gotten to work with since I started GMing Chicago, including @Dewalt27 @Blasoon and @Frostbite Lastly, I’d like to thank all of the players on any team that I’ve been a player on or been the GM of. You guys are what has made my time here so amazing. There’s no way I could tag all of you, but if you shared a team with me then I appreciate you immensely! RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Trashae - 07-07-2021 So here's the thing. I haven't been super involved since joining the league super late (as in after the DSFL draft) and had a full month where I went MIA doing largely the minimum in a lot of things, but wasn't even able to manage that in the ISFL. But that doesn't mean that members of this community were anything less than supportive and just in general fantastic. Obviously my various and assorted GM's reached out to try and get me to do updates, but the interactions went beyond that too with some health checks and good chats. I appreciate the multiple people from both the Pythons and Hahalua so thank you guys for the past month. Keeping up with a general theme considering my limited league interactions I've had a ton of fun from the moment Murphy was approved. Within the hour @zeagle sent me an invite to the POR LR and everyone was great welcoming the random waiver wire pickup less than a day after they just welcomed an entire new draft class. So thank you to everyone on the team in S28, you guys are wonderful. Moving on up to my big moment going in the second round of the S29 ISFL draft to Honolulu (after a lot of people were idiots and had me mocked to go 7OA) there was the usual barrage of pings and welcome messages into the LR, but @siddhus sending me a direct message to give a personal welcome was a very welcome touch. We didn't talk at all in the lead up to the draft, but to have the GM go beyond a LR welcome message really was a nice touch and something that I've taken with me back to the SMJHL whenever our new draftees join the Kelowna LR. Thank you guys for putting up with a super late create who went IA for a month and is now so far behind in TPE it isn't even funny. I appreciate the welcome I have received every step along the way. |
