(S3) - PT #5 - Paying the Bills - Oles - 10-15-2017

When he isn’t on the field earning a paycheck, and making QBs pay, Oles is busy working the streets. He runs every corner he can find until he’s made enough money that day. Yes, he runs a food truck, going corner to corner selling everything from ice cream to wraps. You can find all sorts of weird combinations at his food truck, including an ice cream wrap. It’s a chocolate covered tortilla with 3 flavors of ice cream, and all sorts of toppings in it tailored to your liking. You can find a triple decker club with shrimp, crab and bacon, and all sorts of variations. The truck even features some items tailored to adults, and features Philly’s own Toleso Tequila. You can get all sorts of Toleso infused creations. You can voluntarily add Toleso to anything on the menu provided you meet the age requirements, or get something made specifically with it. Toleso buffalo wings are a good example of this, normal buffalo wings with that extra kick of Toleso. And of course there’s one thing that can never be left off a Philly food truck’s menu, and that is a Philly Cheesesteak. A hearty helping of steak and a lot of cheese bursts the bun as you eat it, with meat falling out of the bottom the way a cheesesteak was meant to be eaten. Add any toppings you like to it, you want pineapple on it? Sure why not, that’s weird but we don’t judge. Come on down to any corner/courtyard/park and find the food truck, Oles’ Originals, and partake in any combination of food imaginable.

As a possession receiver the job is just to catch the ball. Giving the quarterback a safe route to always throw the ball to. The commitment it takes for this is tremendous because it relies on great route running and the ability to create separation from defensive backs. The job of Mayran Jackson to always provide an outlet for the quarterback and when he is in trouble, Jackson comes back to the ball and gets into open space. Mayran up until this year was a safe bet to score most of the time in every game. This season he has been a third down receiver and largely been the resort the quarterback takes when he is in trouble. The touchdowns din't come so frequently this year but a possession receiver always knows he is in for a big day in regards to targets.

The job of Jackson is to also make guys like Stormblessed and Josh Garden looks bad, which he's been doing for awhile. Jackson is probably one of the underrated wide receivers in the league and it rules his drive to become the best at his position. Mayran is going into a free agency off-season here where it looks like he will be looking to connect with a quarterback with some skill.

What do you mean, "what is my job"? Dude, I'm going to school and it's HARD but I really want to be doing this. I want to end up with my PhD in Astronautical/Space Propulsion Systems before I retire and I am determined to make that happen!

So it's really just me slaving away at my Advanced hyperflux theory class in my Master's degree program over the Summer. I already make bank in the NSFL and if I am careful with that money, so I'll survive and focus my summers on my education. I've tried to get some of my team makes to join me in pursuing higher education but they all look at me crazy like I've brought the black plague upon them. It seems I'm the only one who has resolved myself to this.

I also do have money left over at the end of the summer to spend on my "I am the Greatest" youth camp in Death Valley itself. Don't look at me like that, if you want to be "The Greatest" then you have to go train where "The Greatest" do it. Yeah, that's what I do over the summer. I study towards a PhD and I run a youth football camp. Life is good.

In addition to being arguably the best cornerback in the NSFL, Antoine Delacour takes his responsibility as a role model to many, very seriously. In partnership with his wife, Jasmine, Delacour owns and operates two "side businesses" which help young people get into computer science, and provide opportunities for young people to gain work in small, local businesses. He says it was an idea he had after speaking to his uncle, George. "My uncle has always been big on the whole community support thing, so we talked it out and I realised I'm now in a position to actually do something." Antoine reveals. "So we set up a small scheme in Lafayette at first, trying to get kids in that area to learn skills that would be useful in the workplace as we progress technologically. We subsidise a lot of it, but I'm not made of money so, Jasmine and I spend a lot of time talking to businesses to get sponsorships for these kids."

The initial scheme was a success in Lafayette and the surrounding area, so the Delacours set up another one in Baltimore, "as a thank you to the city for their support, you know?" Antoine says. There are plans to expand and create similar schemes in other locations, now that the schemes have shown viability in terms of profitability. "It's the dream, really, to help people out and make money. And I can't play football forever, so it's definitely something we're serious about.
