(S12) - PT 1 - Back to Football - Oles - 12-17-2018 Kazimir Oles spends a lot of time with his family in the off-season. Much like his brother Tyler, he is close with his family and as such when the season is not happening he spends much of his time in Baltimore or traveling with family members. The close ties of the family keep the kids coming back to their parents no matter what happens. Of course there is also training in the off-season, and being part of an athletic family that includes the former QB, now Starting Pitcher Tyler Oles he has plenty of opportunities to hone his skills as a wide receiver from his brother. Other than spending time with family Kazimir does like to travel and experience new cultures, having been to multiple countries during his life including Japan, Australia, Canada, India, and his ancestor's birthplace in Poland. Taking the time to experience new things and learn new cultures allows him to stay center and keep focus on the future and his job in the NSFL, as it can all go away in an instant. It also gives him a good chance to take a break from the lifestyle of a NSFL player, by allowing him to unwind and get some time to himself. (206 words) (S12) - PT 1 - Back to Football - WannabeFinn - 12-17-2018 This last offseason has been huge, likely the biggest and most important one of Kuusela's career. The defensive end from Ohio was drafted 7th Overall to the Baltimore Hawks after an impressive showing with the San Antonio Marshals of the DSFL. Since the draft, Kuusela has worked harder than ever to develop into a force on the Hawks defensive front. He's still rather raw, but he's hoping that he can make an impact from Day 1 as a rookie. Going into Season 12 Kuusela is looking to cement himself as a starter on the Baltimore defense. Ultimately the goal for this season is bigger than that, as Kuusela is determined to help push the Hawks towards the Ultimus Trophy. Winning the Championship as a rookie would be a phenomenal achievement for the previously overlooked son of Finnish immigrants. "You know, when I was being recruited by colleges, nobody really gave me a shot. I had a few offers from Group of 5 schools, but most Power 5 teams wouldn't even look at me. Those who did only offered for me to give it a shot as a walk-on. Despite going on to become a starter at Ohio, I was still overlooked going into the DSFL draft, falling into the 6th round. I'm glad to have a team and management that finally saw my worth. Being drafted in the 1st round to Baltimore was a dream come true", Kuusela said. I had some down time to really think about my performance last season and how close I was to really breaking out as the next big player. So I put in the extra hard work and trained my ass off to be that guy. My plan for the season is to be a 1000/1000 guy. 1000 rushing yards and 1000 receiving yards while on our way to the Ultimus Trophy. The Otters are coming into the season looking incredibly strong all around and we will be looking to kick every team on the way to another championship in Orange County. We had a pretty rough post season against the eventual champion New Orleans Second Line and we look to make things right this season proving that what happened was a fluke. One bad game is all it was and this year it is our turn to bring back that Otter dominance of old. While the end goal for the team is the Championship, and it is for me too, I want that MVP hardware. It is time for me to prove to the league that I belong up there with the rest of the great Running Backs in this league and that I'm not second rate or second tier. Not that he’s played any part in that. No, it’s been the teammates he’s seen come and go, the front office staff, the coaches… there’s been a lot of change and turnover in Miller’s five season in the Rocky Mountain State. He’s seen players of the calibre of Ryan Applehort, Carlito Crush, Eli Kamaka, and Andre Bly Jr. in his locker room before being in other teams’. Miller has also heard a lot of negative talk from outside the team facilities, be it from media, opposition players, or even former teammates. Never, Miller notes, has it been from their own fans, nor from people truly involved with and invested in the team. All along, these people – true Yeti fans and passionate Yeti players and staff – have remained steadfast in their belief that their time is coming. That feeling has perhaps never been as strong as it is leading into Season 12. The Yeti hit on essentially all their picks in the draft over the offseason, and have restocked their arsenal after losing offensive weapon Dwayne Aaron. They’ve also added more firepower on the defensive side of the ball. After narrowly missing home-field advantage last season even with the league’s worst defense, people in the know around Colorado are excited about what this season will hold for them, given all the positive changes on both sides of the ball.
