RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Thatguy91 - 03-04-2021 SHL affiliate RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Pib - 03-04-2021 I'm somewhat torn on this one. My absolute favourite play of the season has been our good friend Marlon Brando running down a running back who had already passed the defensive backs and making a touchdown saving tackle. That’s no small feat for a 300lb defensive tackle. It was a full-on “Larry Allen Moment”. However, that has been covered here already, by a couple of my colleagues from London. As such, that leaves me with one other highlight — which is somewhat personal. In my first start for the Royals, against Norfolk, we managed to generate an awful lot of pressure on their QB — Clarke aka Bex. On one one play, Gavin Leclerc was on a CB blitz, while I had managed to go almost completely unblocked and began charging towards the quarterback. Clarke rolled out to her left in an effort to evade me but by this point Leclerc had already closed in from the opposite side and was for all intents and purposes just waiting there, with arms wide open. Leclerc got his only sack of the season from that play but I couldn’t stop laughing at the sight of a rookie QB running for her life, as her two helpless lineman waddled after her in an effort to save her from the inevitable sack that was about to take place. Truly a beautiful moment. That play itself: https://gyazo.com/b95a56d4466f4451d8df5cb20fa33571 Code: 235 words RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Mooty99 - 03-04-2021 It may not surprise you that as the quarterback of Austin I am going to look at my best performance in this segment. Now one of the problems I face and doing this is that we didn't play very well the season. And my best game came when we actually lost. This was in week 5 against New Orleans. The score in this game was very close we lost 34 points to 31 points And of course with any closer last like this we blind the umpires calls which for this game was fair as the roles with changed after it. Now how did I do you ask well I scored 4 touchdowns and threw for over 300 yd my quarterback rating was a 130 to all the steps show it to be my best game of the season which is a shame when we lost the actual game. The highlight of the game for me walls with this from one minute to play I threw a 70 yd bomb to my number 1 ride receiver who took it in to get a consolation touchdown. This game really sums up the season myteam hat where we played very well in parts but due bad luck and some poor play from us mix together we were on able to do much. WC 220 RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - King Jellyfish - 03-04-2021 My personal highlight was most definitely the team mates! ![]() RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Alcott - 03-04-2021 So without the benefit of being able to watch anything more than just a dot moving on the screen, it's really hard to tell exactly what plays are real highlight worthy spectacles and which are just routine performances, especially with regards to regular defensive plays like tackles and defeating blocks. However, there are certain types of plays that even when mundane are still pretty cool to see, one of which is a safety's bread and butter, the interception. My player, Cole Maxwell #20 of the Dallas Birddogs only snagged one pick this year, but it was really a doozy, especially since I'm not 100 percent sure he didn't go rogue in coverage to get it. Week 6 against the Portland Pythons, with 14:42 left in the fourth quarter, I genuinely don’t know what my player could be doing, maybe some sort of weird flat zone coverage or a safety blitz he bailed on when he saw the QB start to throw? No idea but either way he hops right in the throwing lane in front of WR #83 running a slant route to snag the pick and return it for 7 yards before being tackled. What I like most about this play is the Polomalu-esque behavior displayed where my player just kind of feels out what is happening before making a big play for his defense RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Birdman - 03-04-2021 SHL Affiliate - LordBirdman RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - snazzlepuss22 - 03-04-2021 I have a couple of highlights that I really enjoyed throughout the season. The first was what I would consider Bricks first big defensive showing, in week 3 against the Austin Copperheads, Brick managed to record 4 tackles and a sack. It was really nice to see improvement in Bricks tackling was starting to payoff in big ways. His sack numbers were mostly consistent throughout the year but even as a bullrusher its still important to be able to seal the edge and stop the run and it felt like Brick had finally put together a complete game instead of getting burned around the edge. This is complimented by the fact that this was a third win in a row for the silverbacks and we handily beat the copperheads 44-29. Of course this ultimately would be the biggest win streak of the season and would be a roller coaster for the rest of the season but man was this a fun game to watch. One of my other favorite highlights this season is when Brick managed to get a safety in a tough loss Week 6 against the Hahalua, As a defensive player, anytime you score points for your team instead of prevent them is always a magical moment and I will definitely never forget that one. RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Shiny - 03-04-2021 For Ramczyk I would say the best highlight of his season would be blocking a punt. Never in his entire life did Ramczyk think he would be able to or even come close to blocking a punt. However, it happened. Being a defensive lineman it is up to Ramczyk to just cause some chaos and maybe make a hole for the quicker more agile players to get through to block it. As the ball was snapped Ramczyk started pushing and he got less push back than normal. Ramczyk pushed his way through the line and was free. It was only the last wall and he would be at the punter. As Ramczyk pushed his full weight and force into the wall he slips his arm past. It was his final attempt and honestly, he just did it to see if he could mess with the punter's head. But when Ramczyk felt contact on his hand he was very surprised. The ball had just barely hit his arm and was now spinning off towards the side. Ramczyk took a second to get over his surprise and began to run after. First the first time in his whole life Ramczyk had blocked a punt. He also did it in the DSFL and would never forget that moment. RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - huck24 - 03-04-2021 SHL affiliate RE: (S27) PT5 - Highlight Reel - Ace - 03-04-2021 SHL PT |
