I'm usually pretty much on HO's side in most cases, but I think this is a big misstep.  If players were awarded TPE despite submitting after the deadline, that's not their fault.  That's the fault of whoever is in charge of enforcing the deadline.  So, while I sort of agree with the firing, I don't really understand taking TPE away from players as punishment.  Yes they submitted late posts, but the real fault here is with whoever awarded them TPE in spite of that.

I think the right move here would have been a firing of responsible parties hefty fines levied against the responsible parties and an announcement that deadlines would be taken more seriously going forward.  Like others have said, this is a failure at multiple levels, the least of which is the players themselves; punishing them for that seems unnecessary at best.

EDIT:  After reading more about this issue, I now disagree with the firing as well.  If this was an issue spanning multiple PPT heads and nearly a dozen seasons, it seems wrong to fire the person who's in charge now.  Issue some fines, make it clear that if this issue continues it will result in a firing, and move on.  People who have done much worse things have gotten away with a fine as punishment, and I feel like firing someone for this is an overreaction.

how dare you make so much sense!

Baffling to me that a member of HO (albeit an intern) would make such an inflammatory statement regarding this whole thing. Although I have my disagreements with how everything was handled, this to me is 100% unacceptable coming from someone who represents HO.

exactly. i think we now know who spent countless hours gathering the evidence for this terrible crime.....

What you're describing is a trend that goes back as long as the lax ppt issue does and requires every bit as much fixing.

All credit to you for really going for it after the fact but this should have been built into it in the first place and you wouldn't need to be putting out fires.

I'm not trying to say this to be mean to you but that was incredibly condescending and I do hope that if you continue to pursue a role in HO that you learn to communicate better. If you don't understand how that's inflammatory and condescending, please let me know and I'll explain.

If unclaimed tpe is good for two seasons and after which can't be claimed. Shouldn't the same be applied here at the very least.

Looks like HO really fumbled this one!

here’s an idea. close the thread at the deadline.

RE: Late PT TPE Removal - Duilio05 - 04-03-2021

I am disappointed by this arbitrary choice to crack down on deadlines related to a specific part of the league. If this is the path HO wants to walk down then I hope pay and TPE will additionally be removed from any user with a league job that was late completing their league job. Such positions as updater, simmer, GM's, and HO get UW Pass or even full PT Pass. Any time a GM received leeway from a simmer for a late DC, please deduct the appropriate TPE and job pay from both the GM and the simmer. Every updater that missed a player during Saturday updates should have their TPE from that week removed. I hope the league deducts pay from streamers every time a stream is late by 1 minute. Etc. If you want to crack down on deadlines for one part of the league, be prepared to crack down on deadlines for the entire league.

I'll be the first exGM to admit I received leeway from a simmer for a late DC. Please deduct my $5M GM pay for each of the following seasons S18, S19, S20, S21 & S22.
