They say that you should never meet your heroes but, for Tatsu Nakamura, it couldn't have been a better experience. A big Portland Pythons fan from a young age, Nakamura got to see a lot of amazing future ISFL greats dominating at the DSFL level. The biggest two players that he loved seeing play, who he had the chance to watch closely as he himself was beginning to develop into a potential future pro football player, were Jay Cue and, of course his predecessor, Franklin Armstrong. As Nakamura's career reaches its end and he reflects back, he considers himself oh so lucky to have had the chance to play with two of his favorite football players after getting the chance to play for the same DSFL team he'd always been a fan of. On top of that, Nakamura counts himself to be so blessed to have had Armstrong take him under his wing when Nakamura came to play for Orange County. Every chance he has, Nakamura continues to heap praise on how amazing Armstrong was in the OCO locker room and how much he helped Tatsu to learn and grow into his position on the team. Armstrong was absolutely one of Nakamura's most important and influential mentors in his life and in his ISFL career.

To be honest, I’ve had so many mentors, it’s difficult to name just one. But, from when I first started out in the league, I’d have to say that Russet Buster was there for me at every step. When I got drafted by Kansas City, he was there to help get adjusted to the new setting. He was there for me when I wanted to improve and when I wanted to change my position. He was supportive the whole way through. He was one of the first people who contacted me after I joined the league. Through my ups and downs, I knew that I could ask him about any problems I would face in the league. And so, even though I haven’t forgotten about all the other mentors I have had, I’d say thank you to Russ for the wisdom and guidance he’s given to me and many others.

My mentor for my entire ISFL and DSFL has been the legendary Artic Ice Bear. He is a great friend in real life, and the one who got me to join this fun simulation football league. When I first started, I found the forums to be extremely confusing. I could not figure out where to find Point tasks or claims or anything. Thankfully he helped me get through all of that craziness or I highly doubt that I would have stayed on and be playing still today.

When it came to making money I was also extremely confused. I could not figure out for the life of me how to spend money, when, or how to make it. He helped me by basically giving me a free media interview where I gained a bunch of money that I used for trainings and such. In my opinion, Ice Bear is the Sim Football G.o.a.t.!
