D’Pez Poopsie and the San Jose Sabercats have taken the league by storm. Finishing up week 7, the San Jose Sabercats won yet again and stand at 7 and 0. They are the only undefeated team left in the National Simulation Football League and look to continue that streak, for at least the rest of this week. The Locker room has been very humble and everybody including the general managers have realized that we just have to keep pushing forward, one week at a time. Continued success is brought to San Jose by the motivation of multiple players, the continued work ethic of everybody, and just the general friendship levels in the locker room. San Jose is a great place and continues to strive off each other, even when some members are not having the best time or best game the rest of the team is there to pick them up. Look at Ben Horne, who, normally, is a Linebacker, decided to put his knuckles in the dirt this season, he is willing to forego personal stats for team glory. This is one of the many reasons why San Jose has gone into this season with their heads held high and are looking to continue this streak going into week 8 and beyond.

Wow Danny Grithead is really feeling good about the Orange County Otters this season because they have a really positive winning record, having won 6 games and only having lost 1 game out of the 7 total played this season, but the San Jose SaberCats have won 7 games and have not lost a single game this season in their 7 games played so they are undefeated and are currently leading the ASFC which concerns Grithead a little bit since the Otters want to have home field advantage in the playoffs by winning the ASFC but the Otters have already lost to SJS so even if they beat SJS in the second matchup in the second half of the season they will not have the tiebreaker necessarily so it is tough so the Otters have to win some tough games @ARI @PHI and at home to BAL and SJS while also hoping that San Jose slips up so that the Orange County Otters can clinch the number one seed in the American Simulation Football Conference and hopefully have home field advantage which is really crucial come playoff time during games because if you are on the road in this sim you commit like a billion penalties and get tilted by the crowd I guess.

The Colorado Yeti have struggled to start the season. Currently they sit at 2-5. Part of the blame must go to the offense. Averaging just over 23 ppg, they could be doing much better. McCormick is 4th in the league in passing yards, but 7th in rating. He leads the league in interceptions. That could be blamed on the run game which is only 5 best in the league. The real problem lies in the defense which is allowing almost 40 points per game. The Yeti defense is young. The struggles were to be expected. However, no defense should be this bad!

Logan Lejune has taken advantage of the situation. He has 58 tackles through 7 games, well on pace for 100+. He also has 4 tackles for loss and a pick 6. These are rather empty stats on the league worst defense. They look nice though.

The Pythons expected regression after losing a star QB, RB, and WR. The superb defense lost multiple key pieces. They went undefeated in preseason. Thats not generally a good indicator of regular season success. In their first 4 games they went 2-2 with 2 close losses 1 to bot teams. The next 2 games included a blowout win against KC and a close victory vs TIJ. I'm not sure if the Pythons are actually good or not. We shall see.

Relative to the rest of the ASFC and pretty much the rest of the league, the Arizona Outlaws are having their worst year since Fitzpatrick was a rookie. The Outlaws have won only 2 games thus far, one against the Yeti and one overtime win at home against the Hawks. Perhaps most embarrassing is that they have the distinction of being the only team the Yellowknife Wraiths have beaten. The Wraiths, by the way, have had 4 home games, yet only the Outlaws were bad enough to lose in that situation. The Outlaws are dead last in their conference, and have 0 conference wins, but have lost to all 3 conference opponents. Of course, one of the team’s biggest problems is their quarterback. Fitzpatrick has already thrown 9 interceptions after just 7 games. That’s as many interceptions as he threw in all 14 games combined last season. At this rate, he will throw more interceptions than both of his last two seasons combined, while also managing fewer yards and touchdowns than either of his last two seasons. Yeah, it pretty much sucks to be Fitzpatrick right now, or to be anyone else in Arizona whose success seems to be precluded by his shitty play.

I have got to tell you, this has been a miserable season for Carlito Crush. Its half way through the season, and I’m sitting with 32 catches, 388 yards, and 3 touchdowns. That’s absolutely awful for a player of my caliber. I wish I could be blaming myself for my struggles, but the truth is that I’m just simply not getting the ball enough. I don’t know what it is with Showbiz, but he seems scared to throw the ball to the outside. He keeps dumping it off to Atwell or Ricky Adams. Granted, they’re awesome players and we’re winning so that’s fine. But I spent this offseason training hard and explaining my personal goals of challenging for an MVP once again. That dream is long gone it seems. It’s a shame because I resigned here in Orange County specifically because my general managers sold me on how important I’d be to the offense. It seems like that’s not going to be the case this season, and I’m pretty bummed about this. However, I need to look at the positives here. We’re 6-1 and we’re playing well. We do have a shot at an Ultimus. And once I get a better attitude about things, I bet my play will really pick up in the second half. I’m not thrilled so far, but I’m hopeful. (224)

Not great, Bob. While the Orange County Otters as a whole are living in success with only a single loss, Tegan Atwell is struggling to continue to keep up with the youth on the squad. Last season was supposed to be her peak and she is certainly feeling a sharp decline right now, only at 429 receiving yards. The good news is that she is catching TD passes, so that's a plus. And while her yardage is low at the moment, her efficiency is still as sky high as ever, even jumping as high as around 19.8 YPC earlier in the season, though recently it's come down to a still amazing 17.2 YPC. Clearly, the biggest problem right now for Atwell is getting those catches. Whether it's getting open, getting on the field, or even just getting Gus T. T. Showbiz's attention, Tegan needs to do something to utilize that efficiency that she's shown throughout her entire career. Moreover, Atwell is still struggling with kick returns, which were something that she had previously stated that she was good at. Only at 251 return yards this season and 956 return yards last season, it seems like the chance for Tegan to show off there at any point in her career has gone away.

As a walk on at the University of Miami, Spencer Castle hadn't allowed himself to envision the success he's had as of late. While to some, that may sound counter intuitive, he prefers to focus on the immediate moment when it comes to his athletic-professional life. It's also made his production that much sweeter, as if it's a surprise. Though to those on the outside looking in, it really shouldn't be.

With the Luchadores sitting at a pretty 5-1 record, Castle is still taking things one game at a time, and that means focusing on tonight's New Year's game against the Kansas City Coyotes. In another road game, Castle will look to buffer his team's conference lead, although what's most important is scoring that home field advantage come playoff time. Especially so, as the Luchadore's only loss this season has been on the road.

As an individual, Castle has played amongst the top defensive backs in the league, which should certainly bump his stock come draft day, where it's looking more and more like he'll end up as a first round pick. With two interceptions and forty one tackles, he's certainly providing no reason not to believe he'll be anything but a boon to whomever invests their draft pick in him.

The YellowKnife Wraiths have been having a very, very down season. Our first win was a great game, but after that... Our team has crumbled. Issues on offense have been obvious with receivers dropping passes (my self included), not getting open when necessary, bad run blocking, and failure to generate first downs. Defense has been pretty good about getting stops. Special teams is nothing to write home about, save pretty good return yards and relatively consistent kicking. Those aspects look pretty good, but otherwise we fail to score points and end up losing. 1 in 6 isn't great, but we're getting better by the minute. We've been bested by pretty much everyone, but that doesn't mean we aren't a good team at the end of the day. The atmosphere in the locker room is optimistic regardless. We don't think we'll win the Ultimus, but that's okay. What's important now is just staying healthy and active. I know that our team has to have a bounce back season that will allow us to be better and stronger. Our roster has a lot of depth amd developing talent, so there's no need to look down. We'll be perfectly fine. Next season will be bigger and better for sure.
