Commish and GM's Accused of Collusion. - Stormblessed - 06-10-2017 Stormblessed Speaks Out Against Collusion in NSFL Head Office Yesterday was a very interesting day in the NSFL for many reasons. The league office was subject to intense criticism by its member base surrounding some of the policies around training and the way the league is currently handling money. In an open forum setting, the mood was described as “intense” and at times “confrontational.” League officials were at times evasive when answering questions and at other times accused of giving false answers to placate the tense crowd. A player who asked to remain nameless gave this quote “can someone make heads or tails of what happened today? I’ve replayed the day in my head several times and I still can’t figure it out. (Commissioner Josh) Garden, in particular, seemed to pick and choose what questions he answered and COMPLETELY ignored the collusion question.” Yes, that’s right. There were whispers amongst the crowd all morning about the 8 extra hours Garden received as a result of a ‘random’ predictions quiz. To put that in context, 8 hours is around a week and a half of extra training time – this is quite significant. Stormblessed eventually asked Gordon point blank about this and was ignored, Garden’s response was simply that it wouldn’t happen in the future. Stormblessed sat down with this reporter for a brief interview: Q: Storm, can you outline your concern with the way that task was handled? A: Absolutely, I’d be happy to. So before the draft we were required to submit a (he makes air quotes here) random mock draft. Our reward was extra hours in the gym. Typically we only get 5 hours a week, so these extra hours are really helpful towards building a solid foundation. We were told it was going to be random. Clearly it wasn’t. Q: Now what makes you say that? A: Look at the results. Our fearless Commissioner ended up getting 8 extra hours in the gym. That’s two more hours than anyone else, and a full 8 more than 35 members. 35! You can’t honestly sit there and tell me that the commish didn’t use his status in the league to make a change JUST before the draft started and collect these extra hours. It’s fraud, it’s collusion, and he’s stepping on HALF of the league so he can get ahead. It’s ridiculous. Q: Those are some pretty strong words… A: I’m not a guy who minces words. It’s clear what happened here. You don’t need to use anything but common sense to figure it out. My concern is what is going to happen now? How is Garden going to make it up to the users who got 0 extra hours as he used his position to gain an extra 8? What’s the remedy? There has to be something. It’s hard enough for a new player to even catch up to the people in positions of power, and now we have a clear instance of someone in power abusing their status. How are you going to fix it, Mr. Commissioner? Q: Did you ask him that? A: I asked him that yes, and his response was, and I wrote this down so I could get it accurate “Moving forward there won't be any more 0s from PTs. Participation TPE will be handed out for everything. Things like mocks will get more than things like weekly predictions.” When I asked him my follow up surrounding what happens now, he ignored it and took a different question. We deserve some sort of reparations for this. Right now the league is sending a loud message that it doesn’t care about its new guys. Q: Is there anything else you’d like to get off your chest? A: Actually, yes. I have no idea why the GMs were awarded 4 extra hours. It was explicitly stated that they would get the average. From the rule book “All GMs will automatically be awarded the average reward of all the users.” ALL THE USERS. Let’s do some math, shall we? 78 people participated in the task scoring a total of 132 points. What is 132 divided by 78, you ask? 1.69. Not sure how the GMs were awarded 4 extra hours when the average is 1.69. yet ANOTHER example of the collusion and mismanagement of this task. Somehow, I doubt we’ll get answers. That’s all the time I have. Q: Thanks, Storm. This reporter reached out to the league office for comment several times, and each request was ignored. The league has a duty to it’s members to correct the wrong’s that were committed here. Let’s hope they set an example with their handling of this issue and MAKE IT RIGHT to its members. Enough of the rich getting richer. I’ll leave you with this. 45% of the people who participated in this task received nothing, and yet the man at the top scored 8 extra hours. Does that sound right to you? (the part that I didn't use in the weekend point task totaled 612 words) Commish and GM's Accused of Collusion. - RainDelay - 06-10-2017 Obligatory tag of @Ballerstorm Commish and GM's Accused of Collusion. - RainDelay - 06-10-2017 @`DillyDing` "Right now the league is sending a loud message that it doesn’t care about its new guys." Also, this is not reflective of how the league actually feels. Our goal is to build, and how do we do that? By recruiting and keeping new, active members involved in the league and its processes. I'm sure reparations will be handed out in the form of participation TPE, a rule that will continue to be in effect as well. Personally, I feel the new guys are more vital because the other ones like myself and SHL/SBA/VHL guys will likely stick around, but you all are integral to our present and future! Leading up to the draft especially, most of my free time had to do with this league in one manor or another. This of course means I was in taking a ton of information, including PMing various members I know from other sites and asking them their thoughts on who was going where, what they were hearing, and talking to GMs daily leading up to the draft. Knowing who to talk to certainly helps, but I did my research heavily leading up to the draft. The GMs were originally awarded 2 TPE, but when this was discussed further the progression team decided to award the GMs 4 TPE for their efforts. Since yesterdays good discussion I have been debating changes and mulling over ideas about various league issues. One being the TPE awarded for previous tasks and how to alter that. I am going to be updating the claim and awarding anyone who scored less than 4 TPE on the mock draft a full 4 TPE. People who scored more won't get bonus "participation" TPE, but this will bring people up who were below it before. @`DillyDing` sorry I didn't reply to you in the thread yesterday. There was a lot of information I was dealing with at the time. Cheers for taking action on this. 0 to 8 is just too high a variance. 4-8 makes way more sense. 57 of the 78 people scored under 4 points. That's 73% of the league. Kudos for making it right.
