**READY FOR GRADING

I was delivered an envelope by raven this morning. Directions to this podium were scrawled onto a used napkin inside. It was signed "your agent" - I don't have an agent.

But if anyone has, uh, questions, I suppose I'll field them

There are really only two important factors to me when it comes to deciding if a particular destination would be a good fit for me: LR cohesiveness and GM competency.

Really, I'm a pretty quiet person so I don't have to have spoken to everyone on the team to make a judgment about this, I just have to not have an active dislike for someone in the LR. And I dont dislike many people so this isn't likely to be a problem.

As for GM competency, a team doesn't necessarily need to be playoff bound to be run by a competent GM. Take Bovo's Second Line team in its early stages. Lots of rebuilding made for an eventual ultimus team and I knew based on the decisions he was making and the results he was getting he was a great GM.

That being said, I think my top 2 teams would have to be (in no particular order) OCO and COL. Not that I don't think there are other good GMs or good locker rooms in the league and I'd be happy to be in most of them, but those two immediately come to mind for me.

Based on the fact that corners have to both be very lucky and maxed to be considered shutdown (and even then, it's not consistent), I decided to go with an all around archetype to hopefully prevent broken tackles while still maintaining a solid PD and INT count. The numbers might be less flashy but I think efficacy is overall improved.

Honestly, when I found out it's pronounced new-tella, I could never look at it the same way.

I think Yeti sold out most of their picks so I think it's very unlikely you'll fall to 8th to be drafted by Otters, I easily predict that you will be Top 3 pick in this draft - should YKW or NOLA be wary of drafting?
E.g. Are you likely to stick around with the team drafting you or would you rather seek FA opportunities like some draftee that shall not be named last season?

Why Cornerback position and did you enjoy it so far?

Aims for a rookie NSFL season (unless you think you'll spent one more in DSFL which is highly unlikely)?

Happy seeing you back in the league!

Well, hey, the yeti are there too, so I'm not a very good ring chaser, I guess. But I wasn't necessarily picking who I felt I was likely to play for, rather who I thought I would fit in with best.

I will say that there is a single team that I do not want to play for, but I've already had that talk with the GM to allow them to prepare as much as possible. If I'm drafted there regardless, unless my opinion did a 180 I'd probably leave after S13, but otherwise I've got no intention of touching free agency. Though no matter where I go it won't impact my teeps so Smile

Well, it's not quite as exciting as wide receiver, nonetheless I like making plays directly for the ball so I thought it was fitting if I wanted to play something besides WR. I am liking it so far. I've been relatively successful notching the most picks and tackles of any corner, so fingers crossed that this success translates.

I don't want to set unrealistic expectations when I'll have to suddenly face receivers of your caliber or close, so as long as I can make an impact that the GM and I both agree was positive, I'll consider it a successful rookie campaign. As I get acclimated though, the goals have to grow. So we'll see.

Happy to be back, thanks Big Grin

oh shit, you're back.

Welcome back bro

I do find it curious that you don't want to return to NOLA as you were instrumental in getting that team to be a powerhouse for a few years with your co-GM role

Also is a hot dog a sandwich?

How much better will you be than Dermott Lavelle?

What goals do you have for your career?

Apparently I'm only allowed three quotes per reply so

Thanks man. Smile

Well, I didn't actually name the team above, so that's important to note. As for NOLA specifically, though, I had a really great time there and while it's yet to be seen whether Bayley can lead a successful rebuild I do think he knows what it takes and that he's a smart guy. He was also great to work with in HO so I know we get along, but there's more to building team cohesiveness than having confidence in your GM in my opinion. For the most part, it's an entirely new team.

Absolutely not. Imagine this, your SO tells you that they packed you a sandwich, you get to work and there's a hot dog in your bag. You're going to give them a call and say "hey, I think you gave me your lunch - in fact, you must've, because there's a hot dog in my bag, not a sandwich."

Well, he's never even played in the illustrious DSFL. Back in his era just anybody was a walk on. So I can say I will be many, many times better than Dermot Lavelle.

As for goals, I really just want to take it one step at a time. If I go setting myself unrealistic expectations then I'm setting myself up for failure. I know the position can be an especially inconsistent one at times, so as long as I can make an overall positive impact on whatever team that drafts me, I'll consider my season a success. As I previously mentioned though, my goals will have to take steps forward with me as I progress, else I'll stagnate.
