Hey everyone. As many know I've been the General Manager of the Hawks for 5 and a half seasons, taking over in S8. Hendrix ghosted the site in S7 and no one wanted to take head GM of the hawks. Luckily @manicmav36 said he would be co-GM depending on who was head GM and I decided to take the reigns. Manic was literally the best possible guy for the job. We worked very well together and I like to think we were a success.
During our run the Hawks have been pretty successful. We made the playoffs all 5 seasons and made 4 straight Utlimus appearances. We won a title in S11 and I have to say that in my year and a half in sim leagues is still my proudest accomplishment.
I am going to stay on during the remainder of the season. @Unicorn has been an amazing co-GM but I knew when he took the job he would only be able to do one season. That being said I don't want to take applications right now (I'm going to direct you to @run_CMC if you wanna apply for a GM job. I'm going to take applications this offseason, and help with the draft and everything and have the official job turned over in time for preseason. I like to think with the young talent and bevy of drat picks manic and I have left the hawks in a damn good position. That being said I want to thank some people who really helped out my tenure in the hawks.
First obviously manic - you are the fucking man. You are such a great co-GM and just an all around awesome dude. I could not have asked for a better guy to work with for these 5 seasons.
Unicorn - you've been a hawk basically as long as I have (I got 1 season on ya), and have been such a great dude to have. When manic went up to HO you completely stepped up and have been a huge help.
Hendrix - though you are gone you mentored me tremendously in this league. I can't thank you enough - and I hope you're doing very well.
@ItsJustBarry - An All Time Hawk, and great dude. You were an awesome co-GM for us, and a great in the LR. We miss ya.
@Raven - You are the ideal of a Hawk (or Giraffe I guess). The longest tenured player in league history, Turk is a legend and you were a huge part of helping the Hawks get over the hump
@37thchamber - dude you are an amazing teammate. One of the guys who really helped me figure out this league and make this league a blast when I started. I remember my first press conference you asking me a bunch of questions and helping me start out - incredibly appreciated.
Those are the OG hawks who have been super helpful. A couple others have been amazing as well (shouts to Leafer, Nunc, evry, cosborn, Turner, dankoa, vikain, theHero, Asipi and plenty of others who have been part of this great team).
I also want to specifically thank @SwagSloth and @Bzerkap for their help when I took over. Swag sent me their list of prospects and everything since manic and I didnt have one and we took over so late. Bzerkap helped me build my O Linemen.
Finally I want to thank @timeconsumer. I don't know if anyone else has heard me bitch as much I have about various GM shit as he has. He had the prime position of being able to chat with me in real time as the Hawks broke my heart for several seasons.
Overall I've had an amazing time as GM - but when I took this job it was never to be permanent. I am still the owner after all. So I'm gonna look to find a replacement this offseaon.
