NSFL S1: Week 1 - "Have a Day" - adam2552 - 06-13-2017

I just want to reiterate that the series is going to highlight what I determine to be outstanding individual performances. There will not necessarily be an outstanding individual performance in every game.

At the bottom of each jersey, you will now see a star, those stars will accumulate every time a player gets a “Have a Day” made. It will be a quick way to see who has gotten the most as the seasons go on (think like the buckeye on the Buckeyes' helmets).

The Arizona Outlaws defensive backfield put on a show against the Orange County Otters in Week 1. The four defensive backs all had big contributions in the Outlaws 27-12 win. Isaiah Rashad, starting left corner, is a natural safety, but that didn’t stop him from picking off Otters’ QB Mike Boss three times. The other starting corner, Jason Williams, also came down with an interception that he took 35 yards to pay dirt. The Outlaws’ safeties were in on the action too, FS Mayran Jackson was one of the team’s leaders in tackles with 8 stops. While starting SS Ryan Flock had two interceptions of his own, which he returned for a total of 62 yards. With this dominant performance, other opposing QBs will have to be worried when throwing to any side of the field. Also, the poor performance by Otters QB Mike Boss will continue to stoke the flame regarding the QB controversy in Orange County.

D’Brickashaw Ferguson of the Yellowknife Wraiths put in an offensive lineman performance for the ages. Ferguson compiled nine pancakes while allowing 0 sacks. He also stayed focused, by not having a single penalty called against him the entire game. He protected QB Chris Orosz enroute to a 23/37 for 252 yard performance. Ferguson also anchored the line in the run game as Bubba Nuck scampered for 97 yards and a score en route to the Wraiths 27-14 victory over the San Jose Sabercats.

This is easily my favourite article series so far! Love the idea of the stars, too. Great work man!

Agreed. This is a really cool idea, and I really like the stars concept. I think that I would do a few more players than just 3, but overall this is super cool and he deserves to get paid for this.
