A day of intrigue, a day of doubts, but most importantly the first day of the prospect bowl was a day of solid football. The Central Grizzlies defeated the Blackbirds 24-10. The very first offensive play of the game was a Jaroppolo interception (Knight, L.)leading to 3 for the Blackbirds. Solid defense throughout and a 17 point second quarter put the game in control for the Grizzlies.

All game the Grizzlies defense was tenacious, in the very first defensive series they tallied 2 sacks ( Snider/Larosee) Bode lead the way with 7 tackles, none bigger then the 3rd down tackle that left the Blackbirds out of field goal position early in the first quarter. In an exclusive sit down Bode or QB had to say the following, " I'm pleased with how I played, and that I hope to keep building on that performance going forward. I think our team is really solid on both sides of the ball, and that if we keep producing like we have been we'll be a championship-caliber team. The other teams are talented as well, and I don't think we can assume that any of them will be a cakewalk. I think it'll boil down to who works harder and who gives more effort on the field. These won't be games that can be won by pure talent alone. The team that has laser focus, works hardest, and keeps off-field drama to a minimum will be the one that comes out on top, and I think that the Grizzlies check all three of those boxes."

Terim had a crucial 2nd quarter interception that gave the Grizzlies the ball right back after they had just driven down the field 80 yards for a touchdown. The Grizzlies have a league low tackles as a team after their first game played, however that is not due to a lack of talent. The low tackle number is simply because they force so many 3 and outs they don't have opportunities to rack up the stats. "It felt great being back on the field, wish I could have stayed on the field longer but my teammates all played great and we did our job and got offense the ball back. Some of the DB's and I stayed after with Gump trying to get some extra reps chasing that beast around."

Speaking of Gump who finished with a league high 148 yards on 29 attempts. 5.1 yards per run is a fantastic sight if you're a Grizzlies fan. A humble Gump said after the game, "Coach kept giving me chances which really helped me. I like runnin' as often as possible and I wanted to make sure that faith paid off. This teams is full of best good friends and it was a really impressive effort from everyone." There is no doubt that his coach will continue to let Forest run, run Forest run.

The Grizzlies will face off tonight,( 5:30 PST on Twitch, check your local listing) vs the 1-0 Southwest Foxes. They had a very solid start led by running back Taffy who would compile 122 yards on 30 attempts. It's not just the run game the Grizzlies need to worry about, B. Landers went a solid 20/28 with 200+ yards and a TD. I'll leave you with a quote from Martavius Mack about the up-coming match up, "Get your popcorn, turn off your phone, enjoy the show. You know it aint a romance movie its about to be action!"

+1 Right there. Winners need to have the focus on a whole, not just a part.

Going all the way lads! Defense and offense both played well and everyone contributed (even those dirty bots). Tonight should be fun!
