*How Did They Fare? Expansion Teams - PSanchez55 - 03-19-2019

An 18 round draft, that's absolutely incredible. For the Palm Beach Solar Bears, and Norfolk SeaWolves 18 rounds was all they had to make a team. Well, that and the future picks they had to trade. What were they able to build with the capital they had? Let's look into it. Shout out to @Rising_Equinox for compiling the list of picks by team.

? Palm Beach Solar Bears ?
LB - Rock Hardshaft #2
TE - Chase Jensen #8
QB - Apollo Lange #14
RB - Ben Bortboy #20
LB - Guy Nikko #26

DE - Khalil Sack #80
TE - Dan Wright #86
CB - Matteo Maximin #92
LB - Thad Castle #98
LB - Jameis Harrison #104
QB - Gimmy Jaroppolo #110

QB- Apollo Lange | Gimmy Jaroppolo
RB- Ben Bortboy | Ludicolo Bigby
WR- Nacho Varga | Andre Thorton
TE- Chase Jensen | Michael Rood | Dan Wright
OL- Rahm Kota

Palm Beach went offensive with their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks, and drafted 9 offensive players total.Their early round picks were used to draft a RB and 2 TEs to make things easier for their young and inexperienced QB. Later on in the draft they snagged a couple wide receivers, but I'd be suprised if either became a focus of the offense. An underrated pick in my opinion, OL Rahm Kota will be huge for this young offense. Palm Beach drafted 3 TEs, a OL, and a couple RBs. I believe we should expect a grinding run focused offense. Will Bortboys (a very strong power back) powerful shoulders be enough to carry the Solar Bears offense?

DL- Khalil Sack
LB- Rock Hardshaft | Guy Nikko | Tony Gabagool | Thad Castle | Jameis Harrison
S- Fatih Terim | Lamont McKinnie | Quentin Sinclair
CB- Deon Taylor | Matteo Maximin

Palm Beach managed to draft an entire 11 man defense in the draft. In a very run based league, it made sense for the Solar Bears to grab two of the better LBs available. They proceeded to grab a couple defensive backs from the loaded class. By the end of the draft, Palm Beach's defense was looking rather nice with 7 actives. The expansion team is looking pretty nice.

Norfolk SeaWolves
LB - Allen Josh #1
RB - Dorfus Jimbo #7
DT - Ricardo Morris #13
WR - Ahri Espeeyeeseetee #19
QB - Jay Longshaw #25
S - Giannis Kroustis #31
S - Jack Rambo #37
CB - Lucas Knight #43
DT - Dick Snider #47
LB - Marquees Acho #49
WR - Charles Mudley #53
CB - Tobias Chase #55
S - Logan Uchiha $61
K - Cameron Clutch #67
RB - Apollo Reed #71
LB - Eric Lorentz #73
DT - Poster Nutbag #79
QB - Brock Landers #85
TE - Luke South #91
S - D'Angelo Thompson #97
S - Proy Tolamalu #103

QB- Ben Longshaw | Brock Landers ( but is he a receiver now?
RB- Dorfus Jimbo | Apollo Reed
WR- Ahri Espeeyeeseetee | Charles Mudley | Landers?
TE- Luke South
K- Cameron Clutch

Perhaps unintentionally, it appears the SeaWolves took a different approach to drafting an offense. With the consensus #1 available QB, and one of the stronger WR classes, it appears that Norfolk will be passing much more than their rival expansion club. Of course with two very good RBs, it won't be all passing. It will be interesting to see what Norfolk puts together.

DL- Ricardo Morris | Dick Snider | Poster Nutbag
LB- Allen Josh | Marquees Acho | Eric Lorentz
CB- Lucas Knight | Tobias Chase
S- Giannis Kroustis | Jack Rambo | Logan Uchiha | D'Angelo Thompson | Proy Tolamalu

Somehow, Norfolk found a way to take 13 defensive players. Early on they run prevent heavy. Allen Josh and Ricardo Morris will be a scary 1-2 punch inside. In the mid rounds, they were able to grab some solid DBs. Of note- Norfolk grabbed 3 DTs. There weren't many available. Like Palm Beach, Norfolk assembled a hungry young defensive unit. Will the hunger translate into a quality defense?

Because I'm too lazy to see how active these guys are, (Mostly judging players based on my memory from scouting them). I cant really say how well these teams did. In general, these teams seemed to have done well with what they had. Will this continue with these teams competing for a playoff berth?

In my unbiased opinion, Palm Beach did an A+ job.

Nicely laid out! I like the side by side comparison since we were both starting fresh without any rosters to begin with. We appears we took very different approaches in this draft.
